Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (9 Viewers)

What are you guys doing for beat up disks? Best Buy does an insurance thing when you buy them for $4. You can get them cleaned at some places for about that. And then there's some online tutorials you can try (toothpaste and shampoo wtf?).

I have not even looked in a day or two. Did you send me an invite? I tried to send you the one but it said you could not be found. One moment, let me log in from my office. . .

We used to compile these lists in here so I might as well start it back up again. I am just getting back into Gears of War 3 so I am cautiously anticipating the new game next year. As most people do, I have a ton of games that are collecting dust that I have played for 5-10 hours that need to be finished.

Playing Now:

Gears of War 3 (Campaign/Horde/Multiplayer)

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Campaign/Terrorist Hunt)

Battlefield Bad Company 2(Love this game)

Halo Reach (Co-op campaign) I feel dirty playing this but my roommate loves it.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon

Portal 2 (Co-op Campaign)

Elder's Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Looking Forward To:

Borderlands 2

Gears of War: Judgment

BioShock Infinite

Ever growing pile of to be played or replayed games:

LIMBO

Super Meat Boy

Bastion

Fez

Braid

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Shadow Complex

Lost Odyssey

Tales of Vesperia

BioShock 2

Alan Wake

Deadly Premonition

Rayman Origins

Dragon Age: Origins

Duneon Siege III

Elders Scrolls V: Skyrim

Dark Souls

Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 3

The Orange Box

Red Dead Redemption

Fallout 3

Fallout New Vegas

Bayonetta

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13

:nerd:

I'm the opposite of this. I tend to play one game at a time, and I don't usually quit until I've done pretty much all there is to do. Right now my game is Rainbow Moon -- 60 hours in and I still have a decent chunk of the main quest to complete, and then a whole ton of side quests.

Picked up NCAA 2012 football for XBox. It is amazing to me how much better a game this is over Madden. It's not even really close. I had NCAA 2009 I think for PS2 and thought pretty much the same thing but had gone away from playing it. Now with the XBox, I'm pretty sure I won't be joining the madden universe again. Everything about this game is just better. It's weird that the same company makes both.

12 or 13?

I'm playing Burnout:Paradise again, because my daughter was playing it and I remembered how much fun it was. Only now I'm more proficient at drifting, so it's not quite as frustrating as it was.

Is the Witcher 2 worth playing if you've never played teh first installment?
Haven't played either, but my understanding is that they are separate, so yes, play the 2nd.
Bought both in the steam sale for $20. Looking forward to trying them. Just have to beat Arkham Asylum and city first. AA is like a video game wet dream of mine. Beat the #### out of people with your fists, sneak around like a ninja and do stealth kills, collect all the hidden objects and play as batman in beautiful unreal engine graphics. Why did I never play this game before?!

I've already played AA, played AC after buying it on Steam (already finished part of it during rental) and finished it, now I'm going back to AA and replaying it on hard. These games are just awesome. I hope the next one is just as good. What's funny is that you ask the final question, and Batman: AA was the first game mentioned in this thread.

I know Corp plays it, but does anyone else play the F2P DC Universe? Thoughts? Might have to DL it for the son and play a bit with him.

I enjoyed AA twice as much as ACity.

I've played a little of it. (I got Corp into it. Sorry guys, it's my fault.) It's pretty fun, but I didn't get too involved in it and had/have tons of games that I play instead. If your son likes DC characters or super heroes in general, he'll probably like it. It's easier to get into than the other super hero MMORPGs (although, I still prefer City of Heroes, which is also F2P now, but ironically haven't played it since it went free).

I don't know about twice as much, but I still like AA a little better. The story was more fluid. And although I like the side-missions, they tend to throw you out of the story in AC.

Don't know if we have any Guild WArs fans, but you can get GW2 for $48 again. Releases in 2 weeks. Can't decide on that one. My link

Can any of you aficionados tell me if NCAA 13 is any good?

I had NCAA 11 and liked it a lot. Then I went with Madden 12 last year and absolutely hated it. I thought it was the worst football game I'd ever played. The menus were counterintuitive, annoying, and the game itself was ridiculous with the way CBs and LBS could leap 10 feet in the air to bat down passes.

Did they tweak the game A LOT this year, or is just as bad?

I was a huge GWs fan. Ran multiple characters through all 4 expansions. But the tech has passed my poor laptop by. My vid card won't support GW2.

Completed Metro 2033 (recommend) and have been playing Brink (Beefed up Team Fortress 2 with solo play option) and the last Need for Speed. Both are fun.

If someone else wants to get Brink and do some co-op through the campaign, let me know. I'm stuck on a level that is extremely difficult in solo because the bots have ADD. ("Early Launch")

I can honestly say that Brink is one of the worst games I've ever played.

The Borderlands 2 release date can't get here fast enough for me. It has been a while (since Skyrim sadly) that I have looked forward to a new game.

What didn't you like about it? I think it's fun for what it is.

The customization was cool, and I liked the time trial stuff, but the actual gameplay was just repetitive and extremely boring. I just didn't find anything appealing about a game that is basically a bunch of bots facing off against each other over and over.

It's really meant to be an online game. They tried to do Team Fortress but with a campaign.

I know it was just released, but has anyone played Sleeping Dogs?

Its gotten pretty good reviews.
As someone who loves games like GTA, Sleeping Dogs looks like a must-buy with the reviews it's received. Though with Borderlands 2 coming out soon, I'll probably wait a while before picking up Sleeping Dogs.

It's actually the third game in the True Crime series of games. Name change was due to naming rights after the dev team left Activision. I heard it was good, but the guy I was talking to about it downplayed it because he said that Darksiders II is the game to play this week (that released this week) and Sleeping Dogs was just ok in comparison. I wasn't big on the True Crime games, so I don't know if I'll play this game. I'm sure it'll be good, though.

I want to get this. I thought that GTA 4 should have been a triad/yakuza game, but Rockstar keeps retreading NY and LA.The only thing keeping me from having this already is that it's supposedly only 25 hours to do all the main and side missions. Seems a bit short. Videos also showed some minor clipping issues with character models and walls so I'll wait for more reviews and maybe a $10 price drop.

It's a GTA/Saints Row clone sent in Hong Kong.

If you gave the the option to take a bullet or play through another one of those games I think I would take my chances with the bullet.

Minecraft.Seriously.
I got really into this a few months ago. The cpu I had it installed on died and because it was such a pointless time sink I am saving valuable hours of my life by refusing to re-install it. It's that addictive.ETA - I know everybody likes the blocky 8-bit look but I am shocked nobody has made a much better/deeper/better looking version.

Been playing a little Company of Heroes lately, introducing my 12 yr old son to it. Fun game. Always super cheap on various Steam sales, too.

So my 12 year old son want's to buy one of these things that lets you record gameplay when you plug it into one of the PS3's USB ports. This is exactly what YouTube needs -- another 12 year old posting his COD videos on his own channel to be viewed only by his little buddies, I know.

Anyway, does anybody here have any experience with these gadgets? I know nothing about them.

Ask Ren.

It just seems like the perfect parent/kid game. Exploring together, creative building, etc.

I put it on peaceful and let my 6 yr old explore. She's not used to the FPS like comtrols yet but she loves it.
