I'm almost sure I could have wrenched the final guy to death...Yea, we shoulda warned you - Bioshock is easy on hard so that sorta sucks.I just finished up Bioshock this weekend. As everyone said it was a good game and i really enjoyed it. The only problem was my fault in that I played it at easy, and it was just too easy, yet i still never turned it up. Really enjoyed the story though.
Looking for what I want to dig into next, and am thinking about running through some of the storylines in The Old Republic. I've never done an MMO before, and really am not interested in the MMOness of it, but thought it may be fun to just run through some of the storylines in there to get some star wars fun. Anyone done much with this game, is it worth playing for a bit? Any suggestions on your favorite class storylines?

Was off for my brithday and spent about 8 hours on it today. Knocked out a lot of the storylines. Well, mostly loyalty missions and recruitment. I'm recruiting Tali now, the planet where your brain fries like an egg when you go out in the sun. Seems like it is going to be a pain.Chaka said:Just finished Mass Effect. A little clunky on the interface, particularly managing inventory and driving the Mako but still a very, very cool game. On to ME2
So my first generation Duke died at the ripe old age of 61, but just days after illicitly bedding the 21 year old widow of his grandson, who years earier had rebelled against him before our hero imprisoned and had him assasinated on the sly. I've been playing as a Welch Duke because the Kingdoms were just too damn big to learn on. This way, I have a smaller number of counties and vassals to deal with and although I'm not swimming in money and am unlikely to take over the world, I can focus on learning the game.
My self-set goal is to unite Wales under my dukedom and am making good progress towards that end. I've also married by daughters into Danish and Scotting royalty and have married the King of England's sister to my grandson. Was especially impressed when my spymaster uncovered a plot by one of my useless sons to knock me off as the gavelkind succession laws had him as heir to one of my counties and I had kicked him off my council some time ago for someone more competent. I imprisioned him and then banished him and promptly gave the county to one of my other son's to rule as one of my vassals.
There doesn't seem to be as many systems as in ME1, to me anyways. I notice if I take my time going somewhere, I'll usually have a stack of missions when I get there. For instance, I have yet to make it to the Citadel and have at least half a dozen tasks to do when I finally get there. Loyalty missions, recruitments, side quests. The only annoying thing is most times, when you complete one, it kicks you back to the ship. So you have to dock again and start from square one. Oh, and I am over 20 hours in and feel like I haven't really touched the main story.Wow, ME2 is big. Played 5 hours and haven't even left the first system.

The Citadel was my last stop before going after the Reapers. I recruited my crew and finished all the loyalty quests first, fwiw. That's where I am. I finished the Tali mission and, as before, after recruiting three squad members, it forced me to do a main quest. So I had to do the one where you board the Collector's ship. Finished it up, then got the mission to go get the IFF. I chose the option to recruit more members so that I could go do the laundry list of things at the Citadel. By the way, I hate those floating crab things the Collector's have. I always try to go toe to toe and die a few times. Then I remember, move and strafe, duck for cover to recouperate, then go back at it. Eats a ton of ammo though.5Rings said:5Rings, on 01 May 2013 - 15:27, said:The Citadel was my last stop before going after the Reapers. If you get to a "Poor" planet, do a real quick scan just to make sure there is not an Anomaly / side quest to do.

Still learning thigns and their are many intricacies concerning strategies that I'm sure I'm still oblivious too but I've got the basic gist of it now.
2nd Generation Duke started off his reign a little rough. He threw a Grand Hunt after his father's death because his father had thrown one every year where he wasn't at war. Unfortunately, in charging after a giant wolf to get a trophy he was maimed and crippled. A few months later while trying to pursue increasing his learning, he decided to take on the bulding of a flying machine. That didn't go so well either.Drifter said:So my first generation Duke died at the ripe old age of 61, but just days after illicitly bedding the 21 year old widow of his grandson, who years earier had rebelled against him before our hero imprisoned and had him assasinated on the sly. It is Paradox. You don't have to necessarily create your own story. These types of games (Paradox makes this one, right?) are not your typical "conquer" type games.

He recovered from that and was able to wrest control of two additional counties including one that was controlled by the only other Welch Duke. He now has enough counties to be able to form the Kingdom of Wales but if far short on the funds necessary. At one point his spymaster uncovered a plot by his eldest son's wife to have him killed. Although his son was not at fault, the guy was not the most talented in the world so when his spymaster also uncovered a plot by his 2nd eldest to kill the eldest son, he truned a blind eye. Now the Dynasty is set to go into much more competent hands.
Also interestingly enough, the son of the 21 year old that the first Duke had an affair with right before his death (not his son however) has grown up to be a prodigy. Talents and skills are off the chart. He's currently chancellor and probably like 10th in line for the throne, but good for the gene pool.
Since he's aging and unlikely to live much longer due to his hunting accident, I have him now focusing on building up the economic infrastructure so that hopefully his son can realize the first Duke's dream of a united Kingdon of Wales.

This game sounds so ####ing awesome. I love these posts.Decided to give crusader kings a shot. Obviously the learning curve is super steep. I had absolutely no idea what was going on.
My BIL got attacked by one of our neighbors and I couldn't figure out how to do anything about it. Then my sister was #####ing about the fact that she wasn't married. Then I get attacked, but can't declare war against the guy who did it. My wife popped out 2 more sons, but I eventually got rolled.
Gonna take a while to figure out what the #### I'm doing.
that is the one Knock found on the new game versus the old game. Replayability is not nearly as good.Okay, I finished my Classic difficulty XCOM playthrough. I think I'm done with this game for a little while at least due to burnout. Moreover, I really don't see myself doing a Classic Ironman run (holy hell that would be hard, like starting over from scratch again and again and again hard) and I'm not sure I have the motivation to try Impossible. I definitely got $30 of value out of this and I might pick it back up again later, but that's it for now. The bummer is that I don't have anything cheap waiting for me. Should have bought Tomb Raider when it was on sale this weekend.

Jefe, you want the woman? You take the woman.ok then, I stumbled onto CK2 about a month ago. I have a long history with Paradox games, but recently I have been scared of them since I have a family to feed. I married my oldest son to the oldest daughter of the Hungarian king. In order to ensure I would inherit their lands I had to assassinate my wife's younger brother. I thought I was safe because the king's wife was 40 something and they had no other male heirs. The king then put the queen in prison and petitioned the Pope for divorce, which was granted. He then proceeded to marry a young thing and produce a new male heir by age 50. I of course attempted to assassinate this son also, but this time I was caught. My wife now plots against me with her father. I cannot get my queen to sleep with me so she will not produce a heir, and because of this game I cannot get my real wife to sleep with me either. My dynasty is in ruin. This game sounds so ####ing awesome. Yea, shooting aliens and exploring alien ships gets boring after awhile. I'd much rather be trying to have kids and keep my in-laws happy.CK2 gameplay sessions sound much more cool than ME gameplay sessions.

My dynasty is in ruin.
but I have to.I have been trying to figure out what to do after Skyrim. I think I may have found it.CK2 gameplay sessions sound much more cool than ME gameplay sessions.
I thought that as well but was back within hours.Okay, I finished my Classic difficulty XCOM playthrough.
I enjoyed Impossible mode. After playing Classic for awhile, you'll find it no longer is a challenge. But the bugs really do make Impossible unplayable. That's what actually made me give up on the game and trade it in.Pick, on 03 May 2013 - 08:22, said:I thought that as well but was back within hours. However, I did draw the line at impossible. Have not tried that at all.
My feelings exactly. Including liking Tomb Raider better.Bioshock Infinite is fun dont get me wrong but the combat is fairly boring. And I dont get the point of the vending machines. You never need to buy health or amo cuz they give to you like its going out of style. Good game, not the classic all the reviews gave it. I actually think all the reviews gave it a nearly perfect rating because of the awesome story, atmosphere, and graphics which I agree is incredible. But the gameplay is kind of boring and has been done countless times before. I liked Tomb Raider better
Just wondering but what difficulty do you play on? BioShock gamea are the type of games that have always felt stale to me on easy and normal but really shine on hard.Bioshock Infinite is fun dont get me wrong but the combat is fairly boring.
