Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

Got Crusader Kings II. Still treading water rather than drowning but not sure what I'm really doing. Lots of cuckolding going on, that's for sure.

Very in depth game. I like it but I still feel like I am playing it somewhat blind. Lots of stuff to figure out.

So I decided to move the story line forward. I went and found Dad. My only regret is not getting to kill Braun. I hope I get a chance later.

So I decide to follow Dad back to Rivet City. He is a lunatic. If he spots something he says he regrets it but he attacks them. No matter what they are or how many. He goes looking for them. So I get us through most of this and then we get by the Citadel. There is a Super Mutant Overlord trading fire with the turrets. All we have to do is stay out of the way. But no Dad rushes in. Which makes the turret stop firing. Which gives the mutant time to turn his laser shotgun on us. I get dead. Dad is apparently immortal. Yay for him. I do want that laser rifle though. So anyway I will try to run back with Dad again tonight. But now that I know he can't be killed I am going to use him like Dogmeat. Let him distract them and take damage while I get in the critical hits.

Playing WoW on a different private server than I played before. This one is much more bug-free than the other I had been on for a few years. It's nice to go through quest lines without getting to one of the last ones in the line and finding it's bugged.

Or let him go back on his own - go do your thing for a quest or two and just meet up with him. Even though he can't be killed, he can get knocked out and that has the same effect on your opponents focus.

I got the platinum trophy on Lego Marvel today.

Took almost exact 50 hours to platinum. A good 15 of those hours were me screaming at my fliers to "go down". Took me forever to figure out the damn flying mechanics in the city.

Playing uncharted. It's ok. The platforming is fun and it reminds me a bit of the Sands of Time but not quite as good. The shooting bores me to no end.

I'll stick with it because it's an enjoyable story and I do like the puzzles, but I did turn down the difficulty to dispose of enemies quicker. It's not that they were overly tough, but its just wave after wave and there's not much strategy to killing them.

Anyway - bout halfway through and I'll say 6/10.

Had a lot of the same gripes with it. The story is what makes it. Nothing special gameplay wise. Same with 2.

This is kind if disappointing. I was under the impression two improved everything pretty dramatically. I was really only playing one to get to two.

I got one, two, and heavy rain for $27 used.

2 improved all the controls and had an even better story. Otherwise similar.

There wasn't much strategy to them beforehand - wave after wave. Then turned down difficulty to shorten these shooting segments.

Take cover

Shoot barrel

Kill stragglers

Move forward 10 feet and another group comes out

Repeat three more times before the next puzzle/platforming portion.

For me, it's the opposite. I love the gunfights, especially on Hard and Crushing because you have to have a plan for how you're going to approach each one. These three games collectively have my favorite game-play of last gen, and I always find myself wishing I could fast-forward through the platforming and especially the puzzles.

Ha! We could've been friends growing up passing the controller back and forth. I find most single player combat boring except for stealth type games.

FYI, I am going to be putting up a video game draft thread in the next day or so to see if enough people are interested in it again. I am currently ironing out everything in trying to change things, although not to the point of a timdraft, just a combinations of things.

I wouldn't mind doing a Timdraft version one day. That would be interesting.

I would like to do one to but I'm not sure if we could draw the people to make it work. When I was thinking of categories I had about 20 choices that I separated in timdraft section like stuff we have done before(main character) and then more in depth choices(most shocking moment). Ultimately we would need to have a group of judges dedicated to do it.

I felt the combat in them was rather repetitive. The parkour was fun just for it's ridiculous unrealistic quality. The story was the only thing keeping me going. At one point in UC2 when Lazarevich chastises Nathan for calling him a butcher, the bad guy basically points out how many people you've killed up to that point. You sit back and are like, yea I guess I can't argue with him. I've murdered about 400 or 500 henchmen by then. All self defense of course but the body count sure adds up in UC. For an archaeologist, Drake really does a lot of killing.

This the way I am leaning. Dude is costing me too much ammo and too many stimpacks. It's OK to just outrun them Dad.

I've been sick lately, so have lots of time on my hands with no gym or serious creative work possible.

Yesterday, I walked from Riften to Marketh. It took 6 real time hours, including five stops along the way (three dungeons, one fort, and a city stop to sell stuff and smith).

God I missed Skyrim. In my personal pantheon of Top 5 Best Gaming Experiences, it's right there with Bard's Tale, Civilization IV, the original Madden (before it kept season stats; I remember this because I kept a notebook to add up my season stats from game-to-game), and Guild Wars.

Did anyone else get a pre-pubescent orgasm the first time your Bard's Tale conjurer or magician made it to sorcerer?

God, I remember that felt like losing my virginity at the top of Everest. :lmao:

The first time I played, I thought I was screwed because I didn't follow him. I remember fast travelling there and waiting for awhile before he showed up, but it was a hilarious sight seeing him taking on some Super Mutants that were in his way while running at full speed.

Saints Row IV - Fun game, no doubt. It keeps the same irreverent sense of humor that SR has come to be known for and it adds to the action of SR III by adding some very cool super powers to the main character. The story is solid enough, even if it has some plot holes (but I didn't care to ponder them so it didn't really bother me). My biggest problem is that they clearly used the same engine to power the game play and despite the new powers it really didn't feel like much was added to SR III from a game play perspective.

Totally fun and worth playing with a great sense of humor but I would certainly recommend waiting for a sale before purchasing.

Just got done Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm on hard. Easier then the first Starcraft 2 campaign and "The queen of blades" is pretty badass. Fun games if you like the genre.

I let him go on his own. I missed DM so I needed to go by 101. While there I got the distress signal. So I went in cleaned up that mess. Good to know Butch will be wondering the wasteland with the Tunnel Snakes. Also progressed the story enough to get trained on power armor. Wearing full Outcast right now. But I got a bunch of neat armor stashed I can't wait to play with. Decided I was a little underarmed so I went looking for some good guns. Lincoln's Repeater is pretty good. I also got the minigun laser and the tri-beam laser along the way. Also finally bought the nuka grenade recipe. Just need some tin cans and I can make 18 of those. Been running into a lot of deathclaws even in the southern part of the map. I guess that is part of leveling. I found the flamer works really well on them.

By the way I am trying to get the kids out of Paradise. It looks like getting them out is really no trouble. It's the guy in the hot box that's the issue. I am guessing it means killing every slaver in the place. Not that I am adverse to that outcome but it seems unnecessarily messy.

Oh yes.

On a similar note, back in the early 80s I played all the Wizardry games. Don't remember which one it was on this occasion, but the "graphics" consisted of nothing but straight lines. I mapped out the levels square by square on graph paper. I get to the last square of one level - this HAS to be where I get the key or whatever after the obligatory battle takes place - and...nothing is there. This can't be; there's nowhere else to go. After a couple days of wandering around the now-empty level, I finally call Sir-Tech (they actually have a help line!). After much back and forth, I'm finally put in touch with the woman(!) that actually programmed the thing. After another round of bizarre argument (Me: "I'm at square x:12, y:9 and I swear there is nothing there!" Her: "There has to be - you should see six mummies and two vampires!"), she finally broke down and mailed me a disk with a valid save game on it so I could finish it.

Is there still streaking?

In Ultima VI there was a bug that left you without one of the necessary pieces to finish. I remember mailing my save game to them so they could modify it and they mailed it back.

FYI - if you get the Bard's Tale for Android app, it comes with all of the old PC titles bundled. It was the Amazon FAotD not too long ago and I grabbed it just for the old ones. :nerd:

Downloaded Tomb Raider Definitive Edition over the weekend. Really like it so far, well worth the 30 bucks.
I've been debating this today while it's on sale... decisions decisions. I'd like a single player type game for XB1.

I played through some of the Dead Rising 3 demo this weekend and I just don't think it's for me.

Dead Rising 3 is one of those games that you need a co-op partner to enjoy the best.

I like it and would buy again, it's a lot of fun. Story is really interesting. Only complaint is the inability to turn the sound effects down while keeping the dialogue volume high.

Forgot to post the link in here earlier. Anyone is welcome in the Video Game Draft. You don't need to know everything about all genres or time frames. It's for fun and you'll learn a bunch and go down nostalgia lane.

On another note. I completed Jurassic Park: The Game the other night. It is Telltale's game they made before The Walking Dead. I could definitely tell they were refining some of their concepts in this game as it is not nearly as polished and more tedious due to a #### ton(the entire game basically) of quick time events. The game doesn't have any ties to the movies so I was a little disappointed but it still was a decent game if you are into that style. I give it a 5/10 which is about average for games I rate.
