Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (7 Viewers)

Anyone else excited for OOTP 15 tomorrow? :shakesheadupanddown:
that the baseball sim? Didn't they stop making that for awhile?
Yup and nope.http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/out-of-the-park-baseball/index.php
Is that similar to MicroLeague Baseball? Man, I ran a couple of leagues of that game on my Apple IIc in HS and my freshman year at BYU. :nerd: Loved me some Microleague.
Think of it as a better, more flexible Football Manager that allows you to play historic, make believe, or current teams. It also includes the full minor leagues and 7 international leagues.Basically, if you're into baseball stats and/or sims, it gets no better.
Been playing this since about OOTP8. Love creating and playing purely fictional leagues. The 3D aspect for OOTP 15 is delayed. But that's not why people play the game anyway. Really excited that the spring training aspect is being improved.
yeah I played on and off for a few years. It was similar to the abpa game I enjoyed. Do they have online leagues

Yup.

The OOTPdevelopments forum has a plethora of them.

Time for the news.

So I got Anchorage done. That was a fun run and gun DLC. I enjoyed it. Man the new armor is something. As you know at the end of helping the Outcasts they get a little squirrely. So I am sitting there in the weapons chamber taking incoming minigun fire from 3 Outcasts in the t51b. Not even registering on the armor. Pretty impressive. And the Chinese Stealth Armor is pretty neat. Used it to do Those! afterward. You could get right in the ant's faces practically before pulling the trigger. I also did Reilly's Raiders. That was a fun little side mission. And of course I made multiple trips back to the Outcasts so I could strip their outpost completely. So all in all had some fun, grabbed some goodies and got some more side stuff done. Not sure which DLC to do next. I am leaning toward the Pitt right now though.

Oh and to once again show what a newb I can be I just figured out this weekend I could take multiple shots in VATS at the same time. Duh! I just never tried until this weekend. Oh well next run through I'll know.

I had huge success in that game game baiting enemies to come to me then blowing their face off with the turrible shotgun. Saved a lot of ammo and weapon degradation.

Yeah I'll do that as well. Harder with followers tagging along. I may do my next run follower free. I have to admit though I enjoy DMs company.

Anyone else enjoy the Lego games? I know they're for kids but I really liked the LOTR games and now I'm enjoying the Batman 2 game. I like the simplicity and the humor.
Got the Marvel one for $5 on Steam. I've only put in an hour, but it's just as enjoyable as the rest.
My kids & I love it.

How's Titanfall? Picked it up a week ago and it is still in the packaging...

Got the platinum on Infamous Second Son, it was really easy. This game was fun but really short. Going to let my son have a play through but may look to trade it pretty shortly.

Played it quite a bit while I was without my PS3. But it just isn't grabbing me like it used too. Maybe I just burned out on it playing the crap out of it the first time.

This is great. I think I've played Fo3 100 times but have never done Anchorage.

Sorry if it was a bit spoiled. It really is a fun little DLC. Pretty straightforward shooting the commies.

So I usually just wander around on weeknights but last night I decided to play some of the shorter side missions. I did Stealing Liberty first. Pretty easy really at this point and nice payment. I am looking forward to building the railway spike gun as I have hundreds of those things in inventory. I also started playing with Tenpenny Tower. 4 solutions and 3 of them end up with everyone in the tower dead. Decisions, decisions.

Titanfall on sale today on amazon. Thinking about getting it for PC. thoughts?
It's fine on PC. Probably just as good if not better than the console ports, but the downside is that we have the lower population count - especially with so many people boycotting Origin.

I got a ton of DLC at the end of the XBL sale. All of the Skyrim DLC, all of the Fallout:NV DLC, and for some reason the Dishonored DLC. I hate sales.

This fallout stuff sounds interesting. I may partake. Though I am unsure if I will really, is there any benefit to starting with Fallout 1 story wise or just jump into 3?

Fallout 1 and 2 will be somewhat dated graphically. They are isometric 3rd person (angled high level view of the gameplay "board"). You don't need them to understand the story in Fallout 3 as each one stands by itself with references to the others in a way that doesn't impact gameplay.

That said, Fallout 1 and 2 are two of the best games in the history of video gaming so if you can deal with an older style of graphics and gameplay, they are absolutely worth playing.

I just jumped in. You do run into a couple of the main groups in the game apparently in the older games but there doesn't seem to be much carry over from those stories to this one.

I've been forced to sit through hour after mind numbing hour of Minecraft. I'm good with non HD 3D OMG graphics.

and there is always Fallout Tactics, which isn't an RPG as much as a tactical game, but it's damn fun.

Is that like Final Fantasy Tactics? One of my favorite games ever right there

They did a rerelease a few years ago for the PSP that can be played on the PS3 I think. Really fun game IMO

Replaying Bioshock Infinite.

I don't think I'm enjoying it any more the second time through. It's just...off.
:thanks: :goodposting:

It's an utter bore of a game.
seriously have no clue how it got such good ratings
I enjoyed it.
As did I. It's not as good as the first Bioshock, but I still enjoyed it. You can't expect any game to be universally loved by each and every person to play it. Some people just aren't going to like it. This is also true in reverse. I'm sure the worst games on the planet has some people who loved them.

I am getting bored of Tomb Raider. The graphics are beautiful and the story is sort of compelling, but it's just getting repetitive. I have 15-20 hours of gameplay so far and I'm still not finished with it (normal difficulty and not too many deaths). I remember feeling the same about Uncharted 3. You can only do so much jumping/climbing and firefights before you get to  .
You should be nearing the end of it.
Thanks, I hope so... I am just about to take the PT boat upriver to try stopping the storms over the island.

My griping aside, I'm optimistic about the next installment in the series. I never really bought into the trapped on a cooky island premise. I think this type of game benefits from some globe trotting like the old Tomb Raider and Uncharted games.
I put in a couple more hours over the weekend and I'm still not done with this game. It is just way too repetitive without much of a story.

This is strange to me.

Tomb Raider was my favorite game of last year (although I still haven't played The Last of Us).

I didn't find it repetitive at all, and thought the story was great.

I have to agree. I just didn't like the look of the game, it just didn't feel like Bioshock. Add an average story, at best, and not much new innovation by way of new enemies or abilities and it makes for an average game.

I was hoping a second play through would uncover some gems that I missed, but Andy's post has me doubting that.

I think TR was my favorite game from last year too. I can see how the combat gets repetitive, but that problem is not unique to TR. I find that in a whole lot of games it is easy to use a sneak'n'snipe style and simply run away when your health drops, then rinse and repeat.
