Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (1 Viewer)

OK here is a question for the group.

* Single game ONLY. Not a franchise

* You can think of arcade, computer, console, tablet, phone etc

What is the single game you have played the most hours in your life?

======================================================

For me I think it is now Hearthstone. This silly little game chews up a couple of hours a day and I have been playing since May I think :)
World of Warcraft, easily.

I've played off and on since its release in 2004. I probably have a dozen characters who are at least level 60, many of which I leveled further in expansions.
I have a feeling Blizzard might rule this category between WOW, Diablo 2 and Hearthstone. :)

2500 hours in LFD2.

Also TF2 I have tons - honestly scared to look.

I understand Skyrim is part of a franchise but I have played Skyrim for over 230 hours now......that's insane for me. I have never poured more than 50-60 hours into one game (other than my sports games). This one is like living an alternative life.

One trophy to go for Diablo 3 ROS. It is the grinding one of completing 500 bounties. I think I am at 360 completed now so this will take a while.

Unlike most games when I get a platinum, I think I will just put Diablo aside and maybe come back to it later, especially if new content gets added like 2.1 added, instead of selling it.

Finished up Mordor, on to Wolfenstein. The first chapter (tutorial) kind of blew, but it's been good since then. It definitely has that old-school vibe that reminds me of Doom. I haven't played a single-player FPS in a long time and this is nice one.
Just finished Wolfenstein. Fun game...but

The ending sucked! BJ survives everything but a stupid ### grenade from Deathshead after he takes out two giant ####### robots?? Awful  really ruined a fun game
The ending was fine with me. Best Wolfenstein game since before the last two or more.

If you want a really fun game try Shadow Warrior the remake.

ls that Left For Dead 2? Is most of that because of online play?

That is a perfect answer! I just meant to not lump all Elder Scrolls, all Diablo, all Madden's games together and pick out an individual game with in the franchise (as you did).

Yes LFD2 is Left for Dead 2. Yes it is all coop online play - I rarely play Versus mode.

Right when I was pretty much done with Skyrim I found the hour counter and hit 330 hours. Damn. Never even got my guy to the point where I could cast the best stuff, either.

I would say it's probably Skyrim for me too.

Although I sunk many many hours into Heroes of Might and Magic 3 as well. But Skyrim has topped hundreds of hours, and I'm well into playing it on PC now - many more hours await.

For a while there, I worked harder at getting my enchanting to 100 than I did on my business website. Goodness, what a grind that was.

Then I realized the awesomeness of two enchantments is a total game-breaker.

Counter-Strike. I played that game for hundreds of hours. It was the only game I played for maybe a 6 year stretch.

COD4

CODMW2

CODWAW

I probably played world at war most, but any of those 3 games is over 500 hours at least on its own. I miss being young without any responsibilities.

TF2 and Civ 2 or Civ 3 probably take the lead. Although I've never added all the hours I played Mass Effect 1 together.

Tribes. That was an obsession to the point where I was driving a van for work one day when I swerved to avoid a spot on the road that was the same shape as a mine. I think I stopped having sex with my gf for a few months because of that.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for me and it's orders of magnitude higher than second place. 15 years and still counting.

Just started King's Bounty: Armored Princess. Very close to HOMM3 and very difficult.

Hard to tell... between Everquest and WoW for sure. I know I had over 1 year of /played time on each at one point.

Are you going to play Evolve? Been stoked for it but my computer wont run it... might have to get it for PS4.

2500?! Wow. That's over 100 days.

Mine would be a 4 way tie between:

Gears of War

Ultima Online

Dark Souls

Tecmo Super Bowl
Darks Souls is like a drug.

Dark Souls 2 was the cure.
I like 2 well enough. They're all good, just different. Dark Souls is my favorite , though.
I didn't even play DS2 1/2 way. Just a completely different experience for me.

DS1 was so thick with atmosphere and haunting mythology, then DS2 comes along and seems like a game made for a different reason.

Let me put it this way - it reminded me of Scrappy Do.

I still play hours of LFD2 almost every night. I used to come home and play till 1:00 or 2:00 AM every night almost.

Ask some of the other guys I am always on.

Not interested in Evolve - seemed like a natural selection type game at quick glance.

Diablo II: Lord of Destruction

Or

Gears of War 2

Both took up a ton of time.

I have roughly 400 hours over 2 characters in Skyrim.

MAdden 25 (I know someone cares): taking the Jets to the SuperBowl as a first year owner sometime tonight most likely. Mark Sanchez was the NFL MVP.

Granted I'm not playing on a very hard level since (1) I'm still learning the game and (2) it's a video game but still, it's been a really nice game to play. The first Madden I can say that about in a very long long time. They may have won be back from the NCAA titles.

Oh and why the Jets you ask? Well, to be honest, I like Rex. And my diabolical plan in about 5 years is to move the Jets to an actual stadium in New York. Just to see the whole move a team aspect of the game. Once I do that, I'll probably go back and start from scratch with probably the Raiders. Maybe the Jaguars. Although Shaka Khan is a new owner in the game so it would be wrong of me to force him to sell me the team before he did anything, but I might just be that cruel. Either way, just like helping out struggling franchises reach glory when they haven't in a long time so long as they aren't the Redskins, Eagles, Cowboys, Lions or Browns. They are just yuck.

I'm printing the last 2 pages out to show the wife that i could be worse - a lot worse.

I'd have to think back to when I had a lot of free time and single. Probably Sega NHL 93 or 94. GTA III Vice City also was a big time sink, but like 80-100 hours time sink.

NCAA Football 2003? Whichever had Joey Harrington on the cover. Remember Joey, future NFL stud in the making? I think I got to like 2080-something in dynasty mode, or something silly like that.

Easily my favorite football game. I recently dug it out and hooked up the old Xbox and it was still as fun as I remember it.

Actually, if I go all the way back to being a kid, I bet Runescape wins. Anybody here ever play that? I must have played 3+ hours a day on average for 4 years or so. Far and away the winner.

Wolfenstein ET had a lot of hours too. Probably about 400 hours or so on there.
