Im a shield guy so for me endurance and str are my go to. I like to be able to hit hard and tank. Mostly cause I no longer have the reflexes to dodge everything.

I've played them all. Picked Sorcerer just because I remember that killer Soul Arrow build from an earlier version. But I picked it knowing it was just to see if my install worked and to play a little tutorial.

I don’t think I’m going to be much help then, I didn’t mess with magic in that one. @bigmarc27 is probably more knowledgeable on DS3 than I am. 

 
Still liking Anthem a lot.  Not quite max level yet but have finished the main story line.  I've still got some side questlines to finish up which are just as fun as the main questline.  I've probably got 40 hours in and still enjoying it so at least I've got my money's worth.

 
AC: Odyssey is less than $20 on PSN. That's the newest one, right? Seems insanely cheap, so soon. Worth it? 

Have also been tempted by Vermintide 2 for $30 lately, since I have some people to play with. Seems like a fun multiplayer hack&slash experience.

Vermintide is challenging and will mercilessly punish you if you stray too far from your squad, which is awesome and hilarious. But we also found it to be mostly repetitive with nowhere near enough story to keep it interesting for too long.

 
I got about 2/3 of the way through God of War and finally pulled the rip-cord because I was getting bored to tears.  The character development and all-around storytelling is way better than previous titles, and I like the cinematography, but the combat does not click with me at all and every encounter feels very same-y.  To be fair, I've always been lukewarm about this franchise, but I this one sounded more different than it really was.

That’s interesting, never read anyone that didn’t like it. It’s on my list of games to go grab when they’re cheap. You’re a Souls guy, do those games ruin combat in others for you?  Like I enjoyed the Witcher 3, but I couldn’t help but think the entire time that this exact game with Souls combat would be perfect.

This is me too. I tried GoW, and while it was fun for awhile, I felt the combat too simple, yet too twitchy too.  I've never been big into multiple combos/etc. 

Souls did somewhat ruin combat for me in a lot of other games. I don't want it too overpowered/simple, and I don't want to build up to silly combos by pressing X-X-X-Y-Y-X /etc. Just give me methodical, fair combat please, and if it can be modified slightly by your weapon choice, all the better. 

Witcher 3, as well as the new Assassin's Creed games, did somewhat adopt a bit of Souls. At least my Souls skills (mainly dodging) served me well in both.  But yea, Witcher 3 with straight Souls combat would have been an amazing game (more amazing than it was, because it is a great game as it stands). 

 
I’ve had a similar God of War experience, except it has finally grabbed my attention at about the 2/3rds mark (I may be even later than that). I’ll definitely finish it and it’s solid, but barring an amazing finish it’s not something I’ll be raving about, either. 

 
I know I'm way off in the minority on God of War, and I also get why it won so many awards.  The combat just doesn't click with me, and it's extremely tedious to play if you don't like the combat mechanics.  I imagine this is what people who don't like the gunplay in Uncharted feel like when they try to play Uncharted.

I hate the gunplay in Uncharted.  Love the stories, but have tried playing 3 games in the franchise and eventually burn out about halfway through because the combat just feels tedious and repetitive.

Same. I don’t care for the uncharted games at all. Borrrrrrring.

Biggest thing that drove me nuts in those games are the AGHHH I GOT SHOT animations. And then while they're in those animations shooting them again does nothing. Like you have to let the animation run its course. Made certain areas way harder than needed. Looking back I'm amazed I played thru all the PS3 ones.

I'm low on funds so may wait for the summer to grab them or use my tax return for it. Gonna wait and see what people say about it first. I already had Div 2 and MLB Show pre ordered. After those 2 probably won't be getting anything for quite sometime.

Yeah only PUBG is worth the battle Royale type game play and then everyone else copied. Fortnite copied them too and there was apparently some sort of lawsuit against Fortnite for copying them. I was thinking about the new COD until I found out it was just MP and battle royal and I said na I'm saving my bred. 

 
Finally slowing down on my RE2 fix. Best game I've purchased in years. Kept me entertained for a solid month and a half. I'll take a break from it and come back in a few months to keep it fresh but I've beaten it 11 times now and have done all the side content except No Way Out. Easily my game of the year. 

So what's next. Not sure where to go from here. I played a few rounds of Apex but it hadn't grabbed me yet. Pubg is still the only BR game I enjoy mainly because of the close to realistic scenario it presents.

Next big game I'm waiting on is Cyberpunk 2077. Until then, I guess I'll just fill in with some more DBD and PUBG. Maybe go back to the backlog and see what can be played.

You ever get into The Division or play sports games? Division 2 comes out tomorrow night GameStop 9PM release if you preorder it and my local Gamestop is giving a $10 coupon to any purchase if you get the game within the first 24-40 hrs. MLB The Show with Harper as a Phillie on the cover comes out a week or so after that.

That game was fantastic and I can easily see myself going back to it at some point despite playing into the ground already.  My only complaint is that I really wish they had made the A and B scenarios mesh together time-wise and stand out more with less repetition of boss fights, but that's really a small complaint.  The gameplay, atmosphere, pacing, etc. is all perfect.

I beat Fourth Survivor and then noped it out of the side content.  I've YTed them -- they're well-done and I totally see why people enjoy them, but I like the methodical gameplay style of the main game, and these extended action segments get me all stressed out.

Ha. Yes the Ghost survivors are all more frenetic. They give you a feel of trying to escape a zombie infested city as quickly as possible while facing impossible odds.

For Hunk, I'm down to 7:41. I know I can go faster but every run has it's one or two moments that get f'd up. The WR for console is 7:05. I feel if I didn't get caught or hit, I could get down in the 7:15 range. But there's always a moment you can't control. One day maybe.

Finished God of War. It was a slow burn, but by the end I was invested in the story and really appreciated what the writers had done. Coincidentally, or maybe not so much, I read a book about Norse mythology that I finished about the same time I found the story to be picking up. Maybe the additional context helped me appreciate what they were going for more. 

I wanted to like the combat, but mainly it’s just frustrating and overly complicated. It’s a failure of the mechanic that I’m looking for an excuse to keep playing, but I’m  :lmao:  at the idea of fighting all the Valkyries (the primary postgame task).

I’ve got Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn left in my run of PS exclusives. HZD feels like it’s going to be more of an investment than I’m ready for.

HZD is a long game, so it might not be the right thing to pick up immediately after GOW, but it's really good.  

 
Just started The Witness from the free PSN titles this month. I can already tell this game gonna have me hooked.

Simple. Pick up and play, but very little direction (which I like if you do it right). Big map, sooo many new places to unlock and discover. Each panel solved there's usually an immediate reward. Another power strip connected, something in the environment changing. You're not sure what the reward is but you know it's right around the corner.

The art style is absolutely gorgeous. Saturated, vibrant colors.

 
Been playing Dawn of Man on pc.  Got it off of Steam.  Not bad at all.  One of those city/town building games that when you are playing, 5 hours pass by and you wonder where the time went.  Very fun game.  Glad I saw it.

The Witness is great - when you finish the game, I’ll send you a YouTube link that just may blow your mind. 

 
A streamer, called HappyHobbit may have just finished the greatest achievement in gaming history.

He played Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne all in a row and completed all games WITH OUT TAKING A SINGLE HIT.

That is as close to inhuman as one can get in gaming.  It took 16 hours of perfect game play in games that are unbelievably hard not to die and basically impossible to not get hit.

Yes that is absolutely unbelievable. 

 
I watch him sometimes on twitch. It’s incredible to what degree he can complete these games - the path is second nature and nearly exact every time out.

I enjoyed that game but tapped out at about 65% completion.  Looked up a couple answers just to see if I was on the right track and got frustrated that I was doing the right thing but I was lined up wrong by one pixel so it didn't count.

I've seen a couple guys do No damage runs on the original Resident Evils and some on other old school games like Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis and such. I just can't imagine the level of skill and patience to not only do the Dark Souls games no damage but to do them all back to back.
