http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/26/rumor-dead-space-3-plot-details-leaked/

There's not much surprise to be found in the rumored existence of another Dead Space sequel, is there? According to purported plot details published by Siliconera, however, you're in for less of a shock and more of a creeping, unshakeable chill. (Dead Space 3 has not been announced, so beware of potential spoilers beyond this point.)

According to the site's mole, Dead Space 3 dumps perennially imperiled engineer Isaac Clarke on Tau Volantis, a frigid planet blanketed in snowstorms. Donning a snowsuit (with temperature indicated inconveniently on the back?), he attempts to locate lost friends and other signs of humanity. And we can't imagine a bit of unpleasant weather deterring those despicable necromorphs.

The change of location (if accurately reported) sounds intriguing, though we won't hear more until EA decides to announce Dead Space 3 officially. Last we heard, Dead Space 2 had shipped over 2 million copies -- enough to be deemed one of EA's "strong, growing

franchises."

Looks like bulletstorm meets Borderlands. BUT IT'S ####### GORGEOUS.

If it was 3rd person I'd probably change my mind, but I have to pass for now.

Anyone playing NCAA 12? I asked in another thread, but no one answered.

The guys in the forums over at http://ncaastrategies.com/ say it sucks and everything is broken with the new patch making it worse. But, they're all pretty hardcore into the game (a lot of them don't play anything else).

What do you guys think?
I have it and have played through a season on Dynasty mode. It's OK... to be honest, I don't see any changes from last year's version except that they've toughened up the defense on slant routes. But I'm sure the hardcore players could give you a list of things wrong with it that are all legitimate. It's an EA Sports game... what do you expect? Something that's polished and a significant improvement from last year? :sarcasm:
They screwed up the hurry up offense with the most recent patch. Prior to that I really liked it, but never went online. Dynasty was neat w/ Coach Carousel and all. I plan to do a road to glory so I can export it to Madden and play superstar too.

I've been reading about this. Huge news.

Anybody looking at Skyrim for PS3? Think it's worth it if you haven't played any of the Elder Scrolls before it?
I only played Oblivion before and I loved it. Skyrim is not even really a sequel to Oblivion. It is set 200 years in the future from where Oblivion ended so character continuity does not really play into things.

And honestly, the main storyline was far from the most appealing part of Oblivion anyway

So anyway, my XBox/Windows Live account got hacked this morning. What does the Chinese perp do (I know he was Chinese due to the security question being changed to all Chinese characters  ) first? He adds some other guy's credit card to my account since I have no card on my account. He changes my address and proceeds to add 10,000 M$ points to my XBox account. By the time this is done, I have already reclaimed my account, changed passwords, emails, etc. I check the card and see it isn't mine, but go ahead and call M$ anyway. Their response? We don't refund money, you will have to challenge it with your bank. It's not your card? That's cool, you are all set. Really? I report fraud and I can keep these 10,000 points until the other poor SOB realizes he got his credit card stolen? Something wrong with that, as they would not reverse the charges made literally 15 minutes before. They even said they couldn't tell who was the card owner, and so it would have to come from their end.

In the meantime, I am sitting on $125 worth of M$ Live Points.

How did you discover it was hacked?
I was outside playing frisbee with my dog and got 2 emails that I had successfully added 6000 and 4000 points to my account. The email addition to the account email followed, but I was on it by then.

Awesome new Humble Bundle

Get Trine, Frozen Synapse, Shadowgrounds and Shadowgrounds: Survivor, let alone a couple of extras. All for at least $3.93. I may get it just for Shadowgrounds, in which case I will have a Trine and Frozen Synapse to gift.

Anyone getting Dark Souls? Read that its the hardest game ever?
As someone who loved Demons Souls, I definitely am. It's hard to describe, but the extreme difficulty is actually part of the game design. You're prettymuch supposed to die - a lot. I know it sounds incredibly frustrating, but it isn't.

I've got it preordered. Demon's Souls was my favorite game of this gen so far.
Your recommendation via a detailed writeup was the main reason I got Demon Souls. I absolutely loved it. I suck at games in general but I was still able to get the 100% platinum trophy on that game so the likely difficulty level of Dark Souls won't scare me away. Very much looking forward to your review of Dark Souls.

All 10,000 points still sitting there. I suppose I just wait for them to be taken, or do you suppose they might just stay there? :bag:

Thanks....I hate you. I downloaded this while it was free, and started playing last night (oh, 11pm or so.) Next thing I know it was 2:30am and I was just finishing it up. I know, not your fault I don't have the willpower to save it and pick it up another night, but I wouldn't have had that problem if you hadn't posted this link.
I'm making a note here, "Huge success!"
My son is loving Portal. I made a remark about the cake being a lie and he laughed and said he was exploring and saw stuff about that. He made it to where that is evident and really enjoyed the turn. Now he still has most of the game, as it seems only a small part was tests 1-19.

Of course I would use them. The guy with a stolen credit card will get his money refunded.

So you actually wrote and played the game?So is this a game that I have to sit and play for 3 hours to advance or can it be taken in small chunks? Can you explain the save system please
If this is anything like Demon's Souls, the game is constantly saving over itself. You can quit whenever you want, and you'll be in essentially the exact same spot you the next time you load up the game. There are no additional save files, though. If you screw up by dying, accidentally whacking a friendly NPC, using a one-time-use item that you didn't mean to use, etc., you're stuck with the results of that decision until your next playthrough. In other words, yes, you can make progress by playing an hour here and there. But this is not a game where you want to say "I wonder what will happen if I hit Stockpile Thomas over the head with my Blessed Great Axe +5? Let's find out!"

Yeah I gave up on Demon's Souls some time ago. You have endless grinding to to in order to pass some of the enemies and bosses. It's insane. Though now I think I'll pick it back up for another try...

I've never played it, but I'm pretty sure this is false.

The only thing that will piss me off about Skyrim is if the lands are just as void of life as all the other games. All that space occupied by NOTHING.

Oblivion people? Really? Morrowind is a hundred times better. And if you mod the game on PC you can make is 1000x times better than Oblivion.

While I'm watching the late games, I'm searching the Dark Souls wiki and reading about the various covenants you can join and what they do. This game is going to be epic. The multiplayer side of Demon's Souls was already awesome and ground-breaking, but it sounds like Dark Souls is taking it to another level.

If anybody is planning to pick this up on Tuesday and is new to the franchise (like 360 guys), it's important to understand that this game is really designed around the idea that it's not going to explain much. It assumes that you're tapping into the collective wisdom of the community, either through a wiki or through various forums. If you pick up an item and think to yourself "I wonder what this thing does?" it is totally legit to look it up on the wiki. For most games, that would spoil it, but this game is the exception.

I'm not talking about using a guide that tells what's lurking around the next corner. That would still be lame. But even basic things like what various statistics mean and what the implications of certain choices are or what certain items do will not be explained in-game, and there's no chance to learn by screwing around and reloading an old save. Demons Souls did a great job of pushing the player into the "community" for help, and it sounds like Dark Souls is no different.

I'm just not seeing the reason for all the hype yet. Definitely won't be a day 1 pick up for me. Maybe during the summer slowdown in 2012.

Did you play Oblivion? Every single inch of the map was teeming with stuff to do and things to kill.
Yeah, Oblivion had some issues but having a boring environment was not one of them.
Im going to have to respectfully disagree to the fullest. There is nothing out there. Occationally you may run accross a deer but you can walk for 10 minutes straight w/o seeing a thing.

If Skyrim wasn't so close, I'd pick up Rage this week but there's no way I'd even get to sit down with Rage for at least 3 weeks and that's too much overlap. Rage will probably go on the Christmas wish list.
