Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (7 Viewers)

If you're a GTA fan and you haven't given Saints Row: The Third a try yet, you should. It's probably cheap now too.

It's like they took all the sucky parts out of GTA and added in everything ridiculous they could think of. Lots of fun. Also I have never seen pixelated breasts bounce so convincingly.

Trying to decide what to play now that I finished ME3. I am not one to replay - I just complete every quest the first time through. Figure a month and a half until Diablo 3. Go back to BF3? Finish Fallout: New Vegas? So many other games unplayed on Steam as well.

Playing:

ME3

The Show 12

Picked those up for a grand total of 15 bucks. Gamestop gift cards I had stashed away this past year.....I could not resist. Both games are amazing.

Also in rotation is:

NHL 11

Madden 12

NBA2K11

Uncharted 2

Once I am done with ME3 I am tempted to go back to Skyrim which I dumped 190 hours in and still have not finished up The Thieves and Dark Brotherhood or the main quest.

So whoever said that Duke Nukem Forever wasn't worth the 99 cents I paid for it - totally correct. :hot: I feel so bad for anyone that paid anything more than a buck for that steaming pile of crap. I played about 40 minutes and feel cheated. :wall:
I had heard this game sucked. What a shame as it was in the making for so many years. What makes it so bad?
From what I've heard, horrid load times, subpar graphics, frustrating gameplay, and a disjointed storyline. Aside from that, it's top shelf.
I got the game on sale for $5 (Steam Sale), and it's not as bad as people say it is.It's all about your expectations going in IMO. People obviously had higher expectations when it came out, I had low expectations and came out with about 10 hours of fun gameplay. It's not the best game, but it's not a bad game either. It's a mediocre game that if you can get cheap is worth the play.

Dang, I felt cheated at 99 cents, but that is me.

For those of you with a PS3, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the PSN game Journey, one of the coolest video game experiences I've ever had. I bought it today and figured I would play the first level or so, but I ended up playing for 2 and a half hours or so and beat the game; the time literally flew by. That's probably the only negative I could say about it is the full campaign can be beat in under 3 hours. Though there should be a good bit of replayability; I've never bothered getting the trophies in a game before but I think I'm gonna try and do that for this game.

I kinda wanna re-play the entire campaign again, but I think I should probably wait a few hours since beating it the first time...
I almost DL'd this last week and have been hearing all kinds of awesome about it, but for some reason, watching videos and reviews, I can't see myself liking it.What were some of the elements that kept you into it?
Nevermind. Just beat it. Journey was Excellent. Especially for only $15.
Time Kibitzer, Have you attempted to go back and
Haven't been at home the last week where my PS3 is so no. By the looks of that video, am I right to assume you can get it after you find all the hieroglyphics and collect all the scarf collectibles?

I'm just doing my list of multiplayer games that I'm currently playing because my stack of games that I want to play but don't have the time to, is currently huge.

Gears of War 3 - Best. Gears. Period. New maps including Raven Down and Jacinto while bringing back guardian today.

Halo Reach - I never was a Halo guy besides LAN parties ala Halo 1 but my roommate has me playing this online now.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Just got this back and still love it. If I can't find anyone to game with, this is usually my choice for the Vietnam dlc when solo.

Can anyone give me a good argument for getting MLB The Show: 12 if I already have and like MLB The Show: 11?

I usually go every-other-year with these games.

I'm hooked, too. I play almost nothing but BTB (Big Team Battle for you non-Halo'ers)...it's like crack.

To be honest, not really. The ball physics are nice (as are the updated rosters) but in my opinion there isn't anything worth the $60 from 11 to 12.

anyone here playing TW 13 on Xbox? I am looking for a Country club to join and would prefer a FBG one.

add me

Finished ME3.

Playing The Show 12 and went back to NFL 2K5 on my original XBOX. A 7 year old last gen football game still smokes Madden today. Amazing.

The EA exclusive license sucks. I refuse to buy Madden mostly on principal.
I skipped 05-09 but bought it the past 3 years. Unless they fix the online franchise mode so it keeps stats over multiple years and fix the super leaping LBers/REALLY bad passing physics, I won't be buying it next year.

So we also have Max Payne 3 and Guild Wars 2 out this year, not to mention Borderlands 2. :excited: Diablo 3 is just the opening of the flood gates.

Anyone that plays MLB12 The Show....

I sent out a few PM's but I wanted to hit more people in case others are busy...

Can you play online leagues in this game? Like something similar to NCAA 12 Football? A buddy and I play in a football one and we kinda want to take that same thing to the baseball world. It may not be possible at all since 162 games or whatever you want to play is ridiculous, but I thought we would give it a shot since we have a lot of free time on our hands.

If someone could run the game down and its options on this front that would be excellent.

Thanks

Attention Wii owners, or Final Fantasy fans:

The Wii is having 2 surprising releases coming up in the next 2-3 months.

Xenoblade Chronicles came out this week.

The Last Story comes out in June.

Both of these are terrific role playing games.. Xenoblade the better one.. a 60 hour epic... the last story is much shorter at about 20-23 hours.

You'll want a "classic controller" to play Xenoblade.

Honestly these are some of the best role playing games i've played in years. Top notch quality in terms of story, gameplay, etc...

I've completed them both because they've been available on teh community file networks for wii hackers for a long time... they weren't even going to release them in America until a petition group got it done.

Even if you are a X-Box or Playstation person.. borrow a friend's wii that is collecting dust, get these games, play them.. they are very good.

Just renewed my Gamestop Pro membership and thus have a buy 2 get 1 free on used games. I was looking to pick up some "classics" (well received games) that aren't terribly expensive anymore (less than 30-35).

Any suggestions?

ETA: I play on Ps3.

I really wish MAG didn't fail, that game is hella fun.

Reminds me of old Socom days.
I played this game for a year straight, until the big PSN outage when I decided the best thing for me would be to sell it and reclaim my life. I still jones for it now and then but I figure it's likely all Sabo now. Now Zipper is no more but I did hear some rumor that they might be doing a second revision with Slant Six?Anyway I popped in here to plug Bulletstorm which I almost overlooked completely. The original reviews made it seem really sophomoric but the single player campaign is truly a blast. Definitely recommending this one for FBGs at the price you can get it for now.

Completely agree with Bulletstorm..

Got it for a song for pc but haven't played much. I am thankful they allow you to filter adult language. All games should do that.

I haven't played Gran Turismo 5 in a long time but when I left it, I had pretty much finished it and had gotten all of the top cars, including 4 or 5 Red Bulls. I have been bored with my games so I went back to GT5 and somehow I lost all of my data so now I have to start over again. Pisses me off. If anyone has some extra cars you can send me I would appreciate it, especially a Red Bull, even though I can't use it just yet. Please PM me if you have extra cars and are willing to donate.

I set up a test league with my buddy. It was pretty basic. 10 games - 6 teams. Top 2 make the postseason. We picked our teams and the 4 other are CPU controlled. I believe you can do a fantasy draft. It's not like a franchise though - there is no rolling over years and recruiting etc. Not that I could see. You have a bunch of options about time limits, playing ahead etc etc.

Is Borderlands GOTYE worth getting ($20) if I don't play online?

I missed out on Arkham City for $30 at Gamestop a few weeks ago. :wall:

Just started playing this last week -- got it for $30 off Amazon. Really good game. It's hard to believe that Dark Souls, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, and this all came out basically at the same time last fall. Talk about an embarrassment of riches.

I don't recommend Borderlands if you aren't playing multiplayer. It's quite dull alone.
:badposting: It's a great single player run through that will take up plenty of time. Enjoy it for 20 bucks.
 I guess it's my opinion. After playing it through with some friends to a certain point, I tried playing it alone, since no one else plays it anymore. It was a chore and I haven't touched it since. I guess your mileage may vary on this. And since he'll not likely touch a co-op experience, he may not miss it.

I was not impressed by the single player either. Maybe it's still worth $20, but I certainly regretted paying sticker at the time.

Yea, its too trying too hard imo. I like cussing and gore as much as the next guy but they go so far that it sedates you. I've played far worse but it felt like a inferior non 3rd person knockoff off gears meets Duke Nukem. Garbage.
