Just turned my xbox on for the first time in a few weeks. Tried to log in and ......RROD.

Trying to decide what to do. Its only my 2nd one. (original console that I bought in 2007 lasted like 3 years, probably another 3 for this one). I have the old version with the snap on top hard drive. Is there any 360 that I buy, just snap that puppy back on and have it be business as usual? I used to have a kit that let me transfer stuff from HD to HD, but I think I tossed it.

When I say loyalty missions, I mean the one after you get them. Recruiting them is required but gaining their loyalty is predicated on doing their extra mission.

Yep. It'll be pretty clear when the time comes. The hot redhead tells you that "Garrus (or whomever it is) wants to see you," when it's time for the loyalty missions.

Yeah, that didn't work out. Just spent 30 minutes trying to unclick all those little stupid plastic tabs only to find out that I didn't have the right screw driver to open up the actual box once I got the case off.

Running to Radio Shack >>> Spending $200 on a new Xbox with a crappy hard drive. (since you can't use the old HD with the newer systems)

FWIW My case is pretty destroyed. I didn't take my time the subsequent cleanings. It still holds perfectly together but it looks like a beaver chewed on the backside and I stopped reinserting the 6 long screws holding things together. (I only barely tighten 2 of them).

Oh and also, Red Dead Redemption has the best ending for a video game ever, and I don't even know what would be second. I loved the fact that what I thought was the last mission was followed up by a bunch of "settling back into home life" events, followed by all the other stuff that you got play through instead of watching it in a cut-scene.

Probably my favorite game ever. Then the undead redemption was great too. I got lots of great hours in. Kind of mad I sold it. I never got the last of the four horsemen or unicorn. Otherwise, 100%.

Finished Starcraft:HoS. Played it on normal as I'm not a big fan of playing zerg. It was cool but I'm a terran guy through and through. I think I might get into multiplayer. They have some challenges against AI that specifically cater to multiplayer skills. Those were cool so I'll give it try probably.

Always loved the Total War series, but for some reason, never really did much with the Napoleon or Shogun 2 releases. Think I might do a little casual gaming with those for a bit for a change of pace.

I was pretty unimpressed for the most part, there were some fun points, but overall they were the same format as the Batman games, and I enjoyed Arkham Asylum much more with a better story and characters. I’ll have the Arkham City game soon now that it's down below $19 on amazon.

Last night I finally installed and started the first 20 minutes or so of Bioshock (yes the origional). I normally don't play first person shooters, but after all the raving about it on here, you guys convinced me I had to get it when1 and 2 went on the steam winter sale. So far pretty awesome... and was freaking my stuff out. I'm actually kinda glad i'm on my PC and not on my big tv with full surround sound. Pretty excited to get further into this.

Been plahing Empire for a while. Playing on difficult and the battle AI is really horrible. Still enjoying it playing as the Martahas in India but find it rare to get a challenge in a battle if the numbers are at all even.

Boy, ME2 is a bit more different from ME than I intially realized. Besides the controls, things I need to figure out:

- Upgrades. Some I bought and they were applied immediately (me likey). Others (most), I had to go research (not likey so much). Besides paying for the upgrades, which in many cases I can't do as I have yet to leave Omega station to start mining, I don't understand how I can tell the difference between something that will be applied right when I buy it and those I am going to have to research first.

- Mining. Need to learn how it works exactly. Sometimes the stick vibrates, but the sguiggly lines aren't really moving that much. Other times, it is the opposite. The lines seem to go really high, yet the stick isn't vibrating. Guess I need to find a video or a good hint page that explains how mining works exactly.

- The galaxy map. Sometimes you use fuel to move, other times you don't. And now, instead of just "backing out" on the map to get to different galaxies, I guess you have to move the little ship to a Mass Relay first? Once again, I am cleaning out Omega first. And truth be told, the reason I am doing that rather than knocking out some side quests is because the map just confuses me, at least for now.

Once again, I need a good "play day" with ME 2 so I can really settle in. Right now, I have only had a few short play sessions and I just haven't settled in to the differences. But I am actually quite shocked at how major some of the changes are, especially when it comes to weapons, ammo and armor.

Just started playing DmC: Devil May Cry last night. Haven't played any of the previous installments.

Only through the first mission, so I can't really review it much yet, but I'm digging the gameplay. Cool change from FC3. Very arcade-y, which I dig.

Can someone give me some back story on the other DMC games?

When you're "zoomed out" moving between relays you don't spend any fuel. I guess the idea is that the relay is moving you so you don't need fuel.

Once you select a relay and "zoom in" to where you move between sections within a system you use fuel.

Once you zoom in one more time to where you're in a section and just moving between planets (can't remember if you do this in ME2 or only ME3) you're again fuel free.

And if you're that concerned about it (I've never gotten a disk that wouldn't play in ~20 ebay transactions and never sent one out that wouldn't play in another ~40) you can always just be sure to buy one from someone that accepts returns, which will be noted on the auction.

Buying and selling on ebay could not be easier. I must have made over 500 purchases and sales over the years and never a single problem. I have had more problems on Amazon. As was mentioned earlier, the feedback system works very nicely. Paypal is the easiest method. You don't need to fund it. You just attach your credit card to your paypal account and that is all you need.

I vote load up on both and don't leave your couch for 3 months. Can't go wrong either way, I think they are both great series, which you like more depends on if you prefer your RPG's as a space FPS, or a 3rd person swords and a little magic.

You'll eventually want to play both, so just pick one and start up.

Witcher 3 is supposed to come out late next year i think, and that looks like it's going to be killer.

I just finished this up recently as well, I really enjoyed it. I liked capturing the bases so much I reset them twice. I'm looking forward to the DLC that comes out at the end of the month. It was the first single-player game I've played in forever but I enjoyed it so much it's really spurred me to start playing more of them and less Call of Duty. I downloaded Red Dead Redemption yesterday and played for an hour or so last night, I can already tell I'm really going to enjoy it.

Buying and selling on ebay could not be easier. I must have made over 500 purchases and sales over the years and never a single problem. I have had more problems on Amazon. As was mentioned earlier, the feedback system works very nicely. Paypal is the easiest method. You don't need to fund it. You just attach your credit card to your paypal account and that is all you need.

I recommend half.com - its an ebay site but you don't have to go hunting for auctions, you can buy the game immediately, and you can get some price certainty as a seller. You can pay with a credit card or Paypal just like at amazon or any other online merchant.

I'd say the same thing for Mass Effect 1, both are a little dated, but i still find them fun. I just played Witcher last summer and still thought it was a great game. A lot more limited of an RPG then the open world stuff that's around, but still thought it was a fun game with a good story. I'd recomend playing it personally.

Anyone else interested in State of Decay coming out in a couple months? I think it's an XBOX live and pc game only. It's another zombie game that kinda looks like it could be a good combination of The War Z and the walking dead FPS which i think both failed. I liked the concept of The War Z, but i from everything i read other people just destroy the game, you find something good finally to start killing, then someone snipes you in the back and takes it from you. Walking dead being single player you didn't have to worry about that, but it looked pretty uninteresting.

State of Decay is single player, where you try to build up a group, find supplies to keep the group alive, set up "bases", and of course kill zombies. Early looks have been positive, so i'm hoping this could be fun.

I didn't dislike W1, but it is a top down RPG that's much more similar in presentation and style to older games like Baldur's Gate or Diablo than modern RPGs like ME1 or Witcher 2.

Twitchy being me. Like most FPSs, there are a lot of hot keys and in this case multiple ones required to perform certain moves (such as "get the **** out of here"). I'm just not quick enough to handle these anymore. The game looks and sounds great but I haven't been able to get past the first battle yet.

Just paid 19.99 last weekend. Be aware it takes a long time to download. Graphically a great game just too twitchy for me to play well.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is $6.99 on Steam for the next two hours.

I recommend half.com - its an ebay site but you don't have to go hunting for auctions, you can buy the game immediately, and you can get some price certainty as a seller. You can pay with a credit card or Paypal just like at amazon or any other online merchant.

If I buy through plain ol' ebay, do I have to do that bidding crap? Or are there set prices there too? I have no interest in sitting and trying to out-bid folks at the last second to ensure I get a game.
