Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (12 Viewers)

does the xbox one have to download the game to play....why can't i just play off the disc...
The Xbox One & PS4 only play games off of the hatd drive. The reason is the blu ray drives aren't fast enough to keep up. So basicslly discs this gen are only for initial install and DRM.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG that Overwatch trailer.

Just announced at Blizzcon, Blizzard's first original franchise in 17 years is Overwatch. Looks to be like an Arena Shooter featuring some other objectives beyond deathmatch.
I just watched all the trailers.

I don't suppose it'll be free to play, huh?

So Shadows of Mordor is pretty cool so far. Just getting into it but liking it so far.
So... this game is addictive.
sometimes i play 2.5 hours straight. I keep saying i wanna do one more thing. And im only about 50% thru
I like it, but don't find it addictive at all. I'm only 20%? in (still working on killing the four warchiefs), and it's kinda repetitive to be honest. I'm guessing things change once I finish them off, but for now it's the same old thing over and over. Start the warchief sequence, shoot arrows at his head while I bounce around from rooftop to rooftop, and try my hardest to prevent him from running away while his minions swarm me to cover his escape. Meh.

Pre-ordered Far Cry 4 for PS4.

Can't wait.
About 12 hours into Far Cry 3. Really liking it. Hunting is just the right balance of difficulty that few games before have mastered (that I've played). Also, it's relatively fast to get into action and progress the story line. Not too much grind for a sandbox game.

That's how my Saturday just disappeared. Very cool game though. I really like the nemesis system to the game.

And, I really like stealth killing. I'm not sure how much I will be able to put into the game this week but this weekend I think I'm hunting the War Chiefs (I'm still pretty early in the game from what I can surmise). I put a lot of time into gaining XP for new abilities and finding stuff to increase my attributes. My character is pretty strong now and about half or more of the Captains are dead at any given time now.

I've never played the Assassin's Creed series but am guessing that if I like Shadows, I might like Assassin's Creed too. NOTE: I am playing on a PC.

I'm still meandering my way through Last of Us... just got out of Pittsburgh finally (I've only been putting in an hour or so every other week). It's a great story with very nice graphics and solid controls and I will see this one to the end. I do, however, get bored by the repetitive nature of the map clearing and subsequent looting. I have complained about this in other games too (Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3, etc.).

Maybe it's just me or maybe it's because I'm a bit older now with less time on my hands. When I sit down to play these days I really want to be engaged and drawn in. Doing the same thing over and over is dull to me. (My apologies to you guys that like to grind.) I really dug Heavy Rain... which focused strongly on story and little on button mashing. Unfortunately, that game didn't sell that well. Maybe it was ahead of it's time. Or, like I said, maybe it's just me.

Just finished Ryse. Definitely a poor man's God of War but it supplied my first "wow" moments in terms of graphics with the next generation systems. Picked up the XB1 version of Tomb Raider to play next. Halo, AC:unity, and Dragon Age 3 will be next. Hopefully some holiday deals pop up on those over the next few weeks.

I'm a novice with video games these days, but I bought Skyrim after we got a 360 and became addicted. I now see Fallot 3 is available for 5 bucks with Gold. Are the odds pretty high that if I loved Skyrim and managed to learn the controls, the same will happen here? Does it matter if I never played the first two?

Yes, No. You will have fun.

If you liked Skyrim, you will enjoy Fallout. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are both really fun games. These are the sorts of games that I really enjoy.

XCOM Long War, is a long, difficult, frustrating slog and I can't stop playing.
Haven't stepped back in yet but it was a grind in a good way. I'll have to jump back in this week.

It is ridiculous. Thankfully, Ive started to learn early in the mission if it's over my head. I had a supply ship mission where I killed 20 floaters just getting into the first area of the ship. That took about 20 mins of real time. I could still hear chrysallids, bezerkers and mutons lurking further in the ship. I said #### it and left with only one dead soldier.

Yea I'm going to play again tonight now. Got the juice back.

Dragon Age 3 getting stellar reviews. Even more pumped for that game now.
It looks fantastic.

Every review keeps repeating they can't believe how big the game is and done with out the need for repetitious looking areas.

One review mentioned that just one of the ten main areas alone was bigger than the entire game of Shadow of Mordor.

Sounds like fun. I like Origins and 2 wasn't bad but also wasn't great. I'm excited for this game but Mordor has been pure crack for me lately.

The MS store is offering $10 gift cards on preorders. Seems like a decent deal.

Yea, thinking this is going to be a pre-buy download. Usually I buy the hard copy, but in this case, I know I'm not trading it in anytime soon.

I may have brought it up before, but for the FBGs getting the new WWE 2k15 game are you getting it on the Xbox One or PS4? It might be fun to quasi-FFA league going if we have enough guys one system.
PS4
same
I think I'm going to as well. I'm looking forward to it.
Got my shipping notice from Best Buy. Haven't played a wrestling game in at least 5 years. Looking forward to this next week.
