Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (3 Viewers)

Xbone and 360 owner.  Is it worth getting a PS4 for exclusives?  I'd really like to play Bloodborne and TLOU and maybe some others.  Just tough to make the jump.  May have some peeps there for pvp options too.

What are the best PS4 exclusives?
I'm an Xbox guy but at some point I’ll get a cheap PS4 to play exclusives. The games I have targeted at this point are the two Uncharteds, Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War. I’m not dying to play any of those, but a couple more good exclusives will probably push me to pull the trigger.

No confirmation of a date from Neil today. He essentially said, "we're not close," in regards to finishing. So, we are more than a year away. Maybe just in time for PS5.

I know Kojima has his fanatics but Death Stranding looks like the worst game I've ever seen. He's so weird. The whole thing is so overproduced too.
I didn't want to say it but... Yeah. That game looks terrible.

Its been a while since I posted, ive been following Kojima my whole gaming life and the trickle of Death Stranding we've been getting over the last couple years has me chomping. I think the Death Stranding looks amazing!

His style is definitely not for everyone, when given free reign he was able to produce absolutely stunning things.

Simple as it was PT would have been a smash hit if it would have been allowed to become the new Silent Hill, its one of the simplest horror games out there and on the fundamental level accomplished everything it set out to do (except become a game  :( )

To boot, the game looks like the best kind of science fiction, maybe even cosmic horror - I love it. ### #### time eaters, I love it.

I absolutely have to know how much of that TLOU2 gameplay was scripted, if any at all...I assume some of it had to be. It was too smooth, too perfect. The scoop and toss of the glass bottle on the run was incredible and the taking of a hammer from one dead enemy's hand to immediately use against the next...those are two examples that stick out. And will the AI really be good enough to search you out crawling under a vehicle and pull you out by your feet?

It was incredible but it was almost TOO cinematic and a little too good to be true, I need to see more gameplay. Its going to be amazing either way but if that was actually a reasonable example of unfiltered, unscripted gameplay...what an achievement. Wow.

Honestly it made the gameplay I saw today from Days Gone look incredibly dull and run-of-the-mill by comparison.

I loved TLOU -- it was definitely one of the highlights of the last gen for me.  However, I also loved the Uncharted franchise and absolutely hated Uncharted 4 (and mildly disliked Lost Legacy).  I am hoping that TLOU2 is more of the same, and not another walking simulator like U4.

The first game had tons of real gameplay just like that

Also any Magic the Gathering players, i got into the close beta a while ago for Magic the Gathering: Arena, and i feel comfortable saying its the future of the card game.

Bethesda was having the worst, most cringe-worthy presser ever until they finally got to Todd Howard and FO76 after almost an hour. A terrible musical performance, then Rage 2, Doom 2, Prey and Wolfenstein DLC, and a weird free Quake revival no one asked for, and it was a ####show of awkwardness and forced pauses for quiet, reluctant applause. And the social awkwardness of the developers, my god.

Then Howard came out to talk about FO76, after a really funny Skyrim meme lampoon. People are gonna be torn on its always-online multiplayer nature, but I won't get into that as I'm just posting about the press conference for anyone who cares but didn't see it.

After FO76, they showed a new free mobile Elder Scrolls. Nothing wrong with it but seemingly a lame ending to a hyped show...

Then after thanking the team and making it seem like it was over, he revealed a new next-gen IP everyone thought wouldn't be confirmed...Starfield! No other details, but clearly a futuristic single player RPG.

And as if that wasn't enough, they made everyone go nuts by finally teasing Elder Scrolls 6. Seems like its still 3-4 years away though, but it will do a good job shutting up the fans especially since they made it clear the development order of all these projects.

It went from the worst showcase ever to really damn good and satisfying in a quick turn of events. Whew.

Now let the arguing over whether FO76 will be good or ruin the series commence, of course.
I didn't think Andrew WK was that bad.  I also find it laughable that people don't know who he is.

And also there's a ton of Quake fans that have been asking for a reboot, so speak for yourself.

I found out who he was after, would never have known who he was. Seemed like most of the crowd didn't either.

I honestly didn't know that there was a community asking for that, my bad. Should have guessed, seemed super random.

Sorry that my response sounded snarky.    I'm genuinely shocked at how many people didn't know Andrew W.K, though.  Even Angry Joe called him some random guy and he's a fan of the same music genre.  Though maybe I'm overrating how famous he was.

I don’t think that crowd is really into the same music. They looked very unimpressed or confused. The comments I saw on the live feed were funny.

To be fair to him, the song was fine. The reaction/energy of the crowd was what made it so cringe-inducing. It was legitimately hard to watch after it became clear people weren't there for it at all, they were really only there for FO76 and a glimpse of future projects. Tough crowd

They definitely weren't into it, which I can agree made it cringe-worthy.  Reminded me of some Ubisoft conferences.  But not Jamie Kennedy bad.

The metal gear solid games are stupid as ####.  I can tolerate the first, hate the rest.

The Last of Us 2 is the only game that’ll get me to buy an entire console to play.  That trailer got me.
I thought it awhile ago but Neil Druckman confirmed that they are not close to being done. TLOU 2 is going to come out for the PS5 and people will buy that system just to play that game. It will be a system seller... with possible 4K graphics. I could see Sony and Naughty Dog holding off a few months (into 2020) to release this game just so they can sell PS5's with it. And, you know what... I'd buy the damn thing.

That would be a smart business move. So many times new consoles come out with terrible games or just games with no established franchise so people aren't going to risk a purchase. Get a proven commodity and make it exclusive to the new console. That's how you sell the hardware.

That... Wasn't the weirdest thing that happened in that game. That was down right normal by comparison to the rest of the bull####.
It’s been so long that’s just some of what I remember. I remember the Otacon guy sleeping with his sister or something maybe?  I don’t know. That game was a mess.

They brought out Remastered TLOU for the PS4 in hopes of selling that system because there were some hangups with the PS4 that people didn't adopt it right away. I never bought a PS4. I still play on my PS3 and don't plan on buying other games. So, even if the PS5 one was going to be "remastered", I might as well wait to get a PS5 unless it is going to be a year or longer between the release of TLOU2 and the PS5. I need to play it right away so it doesn't get spoiled. At worst I borrow a PS4 if I don't end up getting a PS5 with it.

We are in the exact same position. I bought the ps3 to play that game. If the 2nd game doesn’t come out til PS5, even better.

The first game game totally lived up to the hype for me. I was completely immersed.

He was in love with his step sister but no the weirdest was Raiden running around naked while the AI version of the colonel was losing it's #### and taunting you.

I love Metal Gear Solid franchise but it did border on manaical at times. Just having a 90min cutscene in MGS4 was mad enough.
I enjoyed some of them but there was one I bought on my PS3 that I use to fall asleep while playing.  It was a decent game but the cut scenes got me.  If you fall asleep during a game it's a good sign there's an issue with it.

The only acceptable reason to fall asleep while playing a game is when it's late and your drunk.  Done that numerous times in my life.

I bought Deus Ex Human Revolution for $1.49 digital last night.  I think I’ll give that game another go after Dark Souls. It’s been awhile, but I was playing it and was maybe halfway through and we moved into our new house at the time.  I just got busy and never went back.

Still don't know who he is and I refuse to google him and learn about him due to your snark.

Even back in mgs2 you’re on an oil rig fighting a guy on roller skates.  I just want a spy game.
Not a huge fan of the new ones gameplay wise but the character designs and soundtracks are amazing. Even Metal Gear Rising was basically just a big joke - but Jetstream Sam is cool af.

You fight a US senator hopped up on NANOMACHINES ffs.

I’m disappointed to hear that Fallout 76 is an online game. I heard unconfirmed, there are no NPCs and all human interactions are other players. Who knows if that’s 100% truth though. The beauty of Elder Scrolls & Fallout was based on the single player experience. A whole world with just you, not some 12 year old #### griefing you as you’re trying to complete a mission.

Saw a similar report, supposedly the only other NPCs will be robots and holotapes giving quests, hopefully that is not fully the case as it will make for an empty world especially if it is 4 times the size of Fallout 4's map. Surely there will at least be some traditional ghouls out there to be quest givers or something. There's an article out today, I think with Gamespot, that is brief but mentioned that Bethesda is trying to prevent it from turning into just a platform for grief'ers and keep that from ruining the experience, such as there would be no death penalty and wanted levels on griefers.

Looks like base building will be in the new one but not essential and bases will be mobile so you don't have to build new ones all over the map. Plus you can share bases with allies which could be interesting, might allow one person to build and the others who don't care to just use that base.

Not sure how I feel about online multiplayer only though, I am too old for that #### and don't have the time needed to keep up with that type of game anymore. This might be a wait and see purchase once the early reviews are in. Sure to be lots more information coming as there is only 5 months until Reclamation Day!

You can still play single player.  They mentioned the human interaction part, but I find it hard to believe there will be no NPCs.

Love Fallout.. don't envision ever being an online player guy.  The reason I play video games is to get away from people.
