Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (21 Viewers)

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is an early contender for Game of the Year.

Improvement on the first in every way. This is what RPGs should be like.

Fed Ex guy better not F around today. Sometimes they like to say they dropped off an item and then deliver it the next day.

Exactly what happened. Said they dropped it off last night but nothing is there. It will just magically appear sometime this morning.

Why a physical copy and not a Steam or whatnot download?

I was waiting on the actual Xbox system itself. I sprung for the Galaxy Black T2B version.
Ah, looks nice. Eff that FedEx guy.

Haven't played it yet but the Indiana Jones game is supposed to be good. I think it's on xbox live though so you don't need to buy it.

Baulders Gate 3

I'm playing the Indiana Jones game now. Finding it pretty enjoyable -- some decent stealth is involved, and the voice actor sounds EXACTLY like Harrison Ford (the actor is Troy Baker, who also did Joel in The Last of Us). One thing I find annoying, though, is where you go to one area and dispose of all the guards to accomplish something, and then, later, you have to go back to that same area to do something else, and all the guards are back! Also, my motion sickness has gotten worse with age, and the Indy game is first-person, so it makes me a little queasy when I'm running around. 👴

Side note: Does anyone else do this? You're trying to sneak into an area where you're not allowed, so you go through this complicated process of jumping and climbing and avoiding guards, but then when you're stealthily escaping from the forbidden area, you discover this secret passageway that wasn't apparent but would have made things a thousand times easier if you had just discovered it earlier.

Have I mentioned that I HATE forced tutorials!?!?!

Im ~20 minutes into KCD2 and dear god just shoot me. Let’s the cuffs off!!

Drop me in the fray. I like games where enemies don’t scale with your level. No hand holding.

Pretty amped up for Borderlands 4. I've really only played 2 and 3 (never played 1 or any of the spin-off games) and I'm looking forward to it. Smart move releasing in September too, as they'll wont get lost in the GTA sauce at release.

A word of warning to those considering Kingdom Come 2. It's as much a medeival life sim as it is an open world RPG. I've spent the first several hours, blacksmithing, making potions, etc. but this is more complex than it sounds.

For blacksmithing for example, and actually for all crafting, you dont just choose an item from a list and poof its crafted, you have to place the metal in the furnace, evenly heating it up, then going to the anvil to bang on it with the hammer (being careful to do this evenly), and rinse and repeat a few times. Making potions, you have to fill cauldrons, wait for stuff to boil, and the correct amount of herbs, and stuff.

For some, this could be tedious. But it's so damn immersive. And the attention to detail everywhere is like no other game I've played.

All true but man is this game phenomenal. I just dropped $634 on the a new Xbox and another $90 or so on this and I have not been letdown.

Just wish it wasn’t Valentine’s Day!

Just kidding honey!

I'm very much a gamer noob in many ways. I recently bought myself a gaming laptop and downloaded Steam and bought a few games. I've been playing Abiotic Factor with a couple of others online for a while now. Love the overall gameplay but get lost in the big open world. It's funny being babysat when I play getting lost or messing up some special movement. Have to be there to appreciate it. And I appreciate my friends' patience with me as I learn. Highly recommend checking out the game.

Decided to start playing world of warcraft classic again, but this time hardcore mode.

Die once, game over.

It is supposed to be incredibly difficult, but i was always a fan of diablo hardcore and this seems like a fun twist.

I just wasn’t good enough for the first Kingdom Come. I could try again because I liked everything about it besides the fact I was terrible.

I did finally start Cyberpunk. I wasn’t there for the disastrous launch but they really turned this into a fun game.

I found Indiana Jones kind of repetitive. Beat this guy, move to next checkpoint. Climb here, move to next checkpoint. Check map. Sneak around this corner....

It may just not be for me.

Finished Sniper Elite Resistance. Great expansion to Sniper Elite 5. That’s what it felt like in the end as it takes place side by side with 5.

I have gone back and started Sniper Elite 4 Itlaia on Sniper Elite (hard) difficulty and man…..the maps are gynormous. I forgot how great this one is.

Will move onto Sniper Elite 5 on Hard difficulty as well.

Then I will finally start Star Wars Outlaws in earnest.

I’m having so much fun with this game and I’d love to share with all of you all the things I’m doing but it would probably earn a time out from this website so I’m just gonna say I’m having a lot of fun

I still suck at fighting though

Same. I don’t want to cheese the game so I keep saying I’ll come back to this place later. If I do beat people it’s like a girl playing tekken. I just sorta half mash buttons. I don’t really know what I’m doing. I mean, I kinda understand, but I’m just bad at it.

I’m also comically bad at robbing people’s houses at night. I’m basically crapping my pants the whole time.. I can’t see a thing. For me they really capture the whole experience of it.

I don’t mind being a murderous savage, but stealing isn’t my cup of tea

I will probably cheese lock pickingbecause it’s almost impossible

I got that master strike down ok.

Before the wedding i had no money for clothes. So i killed the tailor and stole all his clothes. Some lady got the guards and i killed three and ran away. Havent been back to that town yet. Im sure im hated

you guys should get the first KCD. It's still $30 for some bonkers reason on Steam but I'm sure you could beat that price with a physical copy from ebay/gamestop etc. (We have a place here called game exchange which is where I found it cheapest) The Royal Edition comes with all the dlc so I recomend that even though I haven't finished all the dlc yet. I do have an extra vanilla copy though,

I played it and I actually fired it two nights ago to see the differences. It’s just a less polished game as this one but it’s still fantastic. Great stories and the drunken night of fun was memorable.

The vanilla game is $7.99, and the Royal Edition is $9.99 on Xbox right now. I bought the Royal Edition and will give it a go - anything I should know as far as patches, mods, etc.?

Late to the party but have an older version XBox One and was surprised I was able to play Madden 25.

Used to play all the EA Sports NCAA and Madden games until about a decade ago, so it was pretty crazy to spend almost an hour in franchise mode opening packs, selecting coaching priorities, upskilling players, etc. and was exhausted before I could even get to a preseason game. The times they are a-changin'. . .

I had the same shock and all about a month or two ago when I fired up my Xbox one. Crazy how many games from the new generation I could play on that old thing.

I bought college football for the series X. Initially, I didn’t like it too much. The reason why - it felt like I was playing a broadcast of a game rather than playing a football game.

There are a few on the field shots that rival a real life college football production. Just incredible.

Soooooo much better than Madden too.

The only thing I don’t like it so far as it doesn’t keep track of your progress season to season. 2014 did this for Christs sake

I just finished up my Dynasty mode with Texas State. There's just so many nice quality of life features missing. Year to year stat keeping (other than individual players that are still on your team). No trophy room. No special announcing clips when a guy breaks a record. It just makes the whole thing feel a little soulless (especially since so many of these features were there over a decade ago)

And then the last season ends and that's just it. The season ends and it just wont go any further (I actually thought I had 1 more year left because I counted wrong and they were still letting me recruit.....why am I still recruiting if I can't play another season)

I'm sure a lot of this will be added back as "new features" this summer.

REALLY wish 2K would do a new college hoops game, but I'm not holding my breath. As good as the older games were, they never sold close to as many copies as NCAA football. And there's a lot more legwork to do with over 350 Division 1 teams. (fewer players overall, but more leagues and teams to deal with in terms of licensing and NIL arrangements)

not that I can think of. Just have fun and don't get frustrated.

So I finished The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon. It's basically a glorified fetch quest though both the beginning and ending are both good. It took me longer than it should since I'm a dummy that did dumb things. Other than just the immersion of 15th century Bohemia, one of my favorite things about KCD is farkle, the dice mini game. So a quest that involves it is (y).

I had won the tourney on the first try but the guy you are supposed to talk to to complete it was asleep so I tried to sneak and steal some stuff and ended up argooing the whole camp and I didn't know about the tent cheese. Suffice to say, I died. So I restarted it and dear God. I was getting THE worst rolls AND the other guys were throwing down! Dudes were tossing 1k-2k rolls so I kept losing. Restarted, beat it again. I could have SWORE it was saved but I got attacked by a band of Cumans and died. Third times the charm.

You have to brew a potion and other than pickpocketing you either have to buy the recipe or do a long winded quest for him. At this point, I'm basically rich and have 10k groschen so I just bought it.

Later on there's a lockpicking thing but luckily the door got opened somehow so I just ran right in.

Anyone else hoping to snag a 5070 Ti tomorrow or am I the only idiot?
Did you get it? If so how do you like it?
It'll be delivered by Tuesday. It's about 12 miles from me now so I'm hoping for tomorrow.
Got it and ran it through a bunch of tests last night. It's quite powerful. Benchmarking places it about 4-8% faster than the RTX 4080. Not a significant increase over the previous series but between DLSS4 and the price, I'm quite happy with the card and have a new build that will be quite powerful for the next couple of years.

DLSS 4 is insane. I was surprised at how clear and smooth DLSS 3 was on the RTX 4060 and am now impressed with how crisp and sharp textures and other environments are with DLSS 4. I haven't played around with settings too much yet but using the NVIDIA's basic optimization settings in their driver app, I am getting ~310-320 fps in Cyberpunk. When I cranked everything up to the max levels including ray tracing, reflections, shadows, lighting, etc, I am getting ~115-120fps. I can notice a difference between DLSS 3 and DLSS 4 and I am not an expert in video game graphics. That said, DLSS 3 is extremely powerful and if you want impressive graphics without spending a small fortune, I'd go that route.

But pricing and inventory is the crazy part right now. I haven't seen an RTX 4080 or better cards selling for lower than $2200 in the past few months that I've been watching prices which is why I was previously eyeing the RTX 4070 Ti Super. I just got lucky, snuck in, and snagged a deal that will complete the build.
