Any homers or anyone else know what the story is on him? His rookie season in 2007 was promising, but he rarely saw the field last year. The only thing I could really find was he was in the doghouse much of last season.

Any updates or feedback would be much appreciated.

In 2007, Winfield was hurt and Griffin really struggled when he had to cover so McCauley received some experience. Last season, Winfield was healthy all season and Griffin was vastly improved on coverage (to the point that the Vikings gave him an extension). There was simply no place to put McCauley outside of nickel back. The extension of Griffin and the proposed extension of Winfield does not bode well for McCauley.

Yeah, I figured after reading that they also re-signed Benny Sapp and brought Karl Paymah over from the Broncos.
