**Vikings at Giants** (+1.5, 41) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Vikings have a better roster and at the very least a similar QB (Darnold is probably better than Jones).

Vikes 24
Giants 13
Career Numbers:
Sam Darnold...Passing yards 12,064...Average 6.7 ypp...TD- 63...Int-56...QB rating 78.2
Rushing yards...760....Average ypc...3.6...TD's...13...Fum...19

Daniel Jones...Passing yds...12,512...Average ypp...6.6,,,TD's...62...Int...40...QB Rating...85.2
Rushing yds...1,914,,,Average ypc...5.8...TD's...13...Fum...14
Bump.
Again.

All I can say Minny fans: Don't be a sucker and buy into Darnold's play right now.

He's done this every year he's played. Very strong game or two, and then he regresses to the Darnold we know.
Maybe, also maybe he’s been with completely inept organizations his whole career?
truth.

I'll be the first to admit, I avoided players on that team when it was apparent Darnold would likely be the starter. I may have to eat some crow here. hes looked pretty good.

small sample size so I wouldnt go so far as to say this concludes it. but the Giants D isnt terrible. but their offense still appears to be bad. so he doesnt need to be awesome. he can just dink and dunk and that is good enough. one of the TD was scored by the defense on a pick 6 so if you think about it 21 points in a game isnt spectacular. but at the same time, Darnold didnt beat himself which is his usual MO. Lets see where this goes.

Oh….give it some time. Remember Darnold’s first 3-4 games as a Panther?

He will start Darnolding soon enough.

To be fair, he won first 3 games with the Panthers. Then he fractured his scapula and went on IR.

Van Ginkel is a little beast and has incredible Football IQ in my opinion.
His athleticism is questionable but he's intelligent and knows where he needs to be on the field on the biggest plays
Sack, pass deflection and Interception Return fo r a TD, the guy is off to a great start for the Vikings, money well spent for them in their F7
Van Ginkel is not just and Edge rusher, he's a 3 down type player IMHO

Aaron Jones 100+ yds, TD and 2 catches, you can work the numbers out over a full season
Looks like he is going to have ample opp to reach 80-100 yds weekly
Involved in the passing game, will get some looks inside the red zone
Jones was about RB 17-20 off the board, 5th round type pick and the early returns look terrific

I know everyone is saying that "it was just the Giants," but I'm just happy/relieved to see the Vikes actually finish a game strong in which they had the lead early. I've been saying for years that the Vikings tend to play to the level of their opponent. They'll make it close against the best of teams, and just as close against the worst of teams. Well, today, a friend of mine sent me something that is not only hard to believe, but also backs up that sentiment (at least the part about making their wins closer than they sometimes should be). Here it is....

Yesterday was Minnesota's first 17+ point victory since Week 15 of 2019. That's over four years of not a single win with more than a 2-score lead. To put that in perspective, EVERY other NFL team has at least THREE 17+ point wins during that same time-frame. And, over that same stretch, thirteen NFL teams have 10 or more wins of 17+ points.
