It looks like Joe Reedy just want some attention......

"Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that four teams -- the Vikings, Jets, Cardinals, and Chargers -- have trade offers on the table for T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Reedy is an excellent beat reporter, but we'd caution that the source for this story may be a Seahawks front office member (or even Houshmandzadeh's agent) in an attempt to create a market for the 33-year-old receiver. The Cardinals and Jets definitely don't need another wideout, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has reported -- citing several sources -- that the Vikings do not have interest, and the Chargers just acquired Patrick Crayton. Adding in the Redskins or Raiders would've made the story sound more realistic"

Quite frankly this makes no sense....If you are going to spend $, go for VJax.
Seattle will have to eat most of that contract. They might get a little cash and a late round pick, if anything. That would be my guess. V Jax wants $50 million over five years, plus you have to give up a high pick. That is a lot to give up.

Why wait until he's cut when you can waste a draft pick on him now?
because Seat is trying to trade him first...this makes nothing but sense to me. Minny is a great landing spot for him.
Of course they are trying to trade him first. But we all know Housh is gonna get cut. Why throw even a conditional 2039 draft pick out there if you know he'll be a FA soon? Is he really gonna command that much attention right now on the FA market?

no one will trade for him because they will owe him 7 million!!! teams will wait till he is cut and then try to get him, plus he is 33 and about done unless he has a star across from him taking the double leaving him single coverage!!!!

I read somewhere that part of Housh's contract with Seattle said that if he was traded or cut that Seattle would pick up the difference between his new contract salary and $7 million for this year.

Why are the Vikings going nuts?

They lost Rice - not for the whole season, though, right?

Then, the rush:

Camarillo.

Walker.

Now Housh?

"Hey, Harvin, Berrian, Hamilton, Payne... you're not good enough."

What does this say about their talent development, their depth, & commitment to their developing players, and what does this do to team cohesion?

It says that Favre is running the show...

What? Since when? I demand proof!

I'm not sure why the Vikes would be interested. Is Housh really that much better than berrian or even Camarillo? I don't think he is and clearly Seattle doesn't hold him in high regard.

It doesn't. Coincidentally ALL the teams reported here that "made trade offers" were 2009 playoff teams(with 3 of 4 being in the conference championship)? I don't buy it.
