Who thinks he will finish as a top 10 fantasy QB...Grab your ticket!!! The Titans won't win but he will be good for a passing td and 200 passing yards a game...and possible 40 yards rushing..with a rushing TD every other game :lmao:

At this point, finishing top 25 would be a feat. There are worst starters, but he is a very low-end QB2.

Just depends on if he'll run. If he goes back to running for 40/.3 a game, he'll be a top 15 QB no matter how bad of a passer (within reason) he is.

140/.8 passing/game + 40/.3 rushing/game = 220/1.4 passing/game = 3320/23 passing on the year = great backup, solid spot starter

Ending up top 10 with only 10 potential games of stats would be pretty amazing even if he were to just go out and just light it up, so I can't see that. I think he may do well, though. Just how well depends on lots of things.

In his limited number of snaps so far (only played in the Indy and New England games):

0/5 passing

1 INT

3 rushes for a season total of 5 yards

1 fumble

That gives him -2.5 points total in my league.

He's on track for:

0 passing yards

0 TDs

5 INTs

25 rushing yards

5 fumbles

I has a sad.

Meant top 10 from here on out
OK, my bad...it could happen, but it would still be pretty remarkable the way the Titans O in general and those receivers have been playing. [OT]Interesting how the announcers qualified Collins' numbers every week by giving the Titans' wrs' drop stats. They were at least as bad when VY started, but not a word.[/OT]

OK, use your method and extrapolate that to a whole game's worth of stats...then we'll compare it to what he does Sunday.

Vince Young will be challenging JaMarcus Russell, Jake Delhomme, and Derek Anderson for worst starting QB in 2009.

He'll be top 15 from here on out. Keep in mind while he was a full time starter in 2006/2007, he didn't have much to work with and he was still a top 20 QB.

Moulds, Brandon Jones, Roydell Williams, Gage, Troupe? I don't see how anyone could succeed with that WR corp.

I think he's going to do a decent job the rest of the way, but in dynasty leagues, I'll probably look at trading him near the end of the year or the offseason.

We are still talking Vince Young in this bolded line, correct?All-time classic. :goodposting: I'd go further but that would get me banned again.

Derek Anderson in 2007?Crazy things happen

First start is against the Jags, and they have owned VY in the past. Even when he was a servicable fantasy QB, his worst games were always vs the Jags. Granted, this is not the same Jags defense as a couple of years ago, but should be interesting.

Vince will struggle. He has locker room troubles. He has offensive line troubles. He has receiver troubles. He has titan fan troubles. He has a head coach with zero confidence in him. He has to come back from by far the most football adversity he has ever faced in his life. He has the skill and mind set going in, but his surroundings are poor to say the least, a lot of it he put on himself.

Prediction:

Barring injury. Titans will go 3-7 here on out. Vince will continually struggle. Titans will cut him. The Texans will take him to back up Schaub next season. Schaub will get hurt, Vince will come in and thrive creating a QB controversy.

This is coming from a Longhorn fan since I attended there beginning in 1988. Season tickets since 1993.

I agree that prior he didn't have a good group of WR to throw to.. and that TEN has a lot better talent at WR now... I'm sort of surprised that everyone is dogging the WR's in TEN... I see it as a Cocktail Collins issue more than a WR talent issue... Nate Washington, Kenny Britt and Justin Gage are decent... Not saying VY will light it up or anything.. but can he be much worse than Collins?

what are expectations for Young this week? Anyone willing to go out on a limb and predict he will be a Top 10 fantasy passer this week?

My expectations are pretty low. This is a run 1st team and Tennessee's receivers are mediocre. On a positive note his value can't get any worse than it's been. I hope.

I wish VY the best of luck but I'm not optimistic.

he's not on my "must have, sleeping up and comer" list.

I pray that I am never bored enough to watch a football that has Vince Young starting on one side of the ball.

He's awful.

I'll get on the Bandwagon. Speak up Horns Fans!!!! He has just as much chance as Romo taking over for Bledsoe. I'm not picking him up but I know the talent that he has. He's getting over the Madden curse and some traumatic and suicidal stuff. He has scarcely been a top tiered fantasy quarterback, but he can lead a team to victory.

I Believe in Vince Young

currently getting the copyright on the phrase, and casting staff for the I believe in Vince Young.

I also believe in Limas Sweed

Titans first line of business...teach Vince how to tell the difference in color between his uniform and the opposing teams uniform.

I remember when this clown came into the league and people thought he would revolutionize the QB spot. :blackdot:
well he WAS one of the best college qbs of all time right?
Don't mean #### when you are playing with the big boys.
He had a very promising rookie year.Won the AP Offensive ROY 2006.

Quotes from that article (January, 2007):

"Vince Young looks as if he'll make the NFL his personal playground"

"...at times looking as unstoppable for the Titans as he did with the Longhorns"

"...the first rookie quarterback to rush for more than 500 yards" (and 7 rushing TDs)

"'He was very prepared when he got here because of the experience he had in college,' said Jeff Fisher"

" 'Besides the physical skills, it's the will and the strength inside, the 'it' factor that a quarterback either has or doesn't have,' said offensive coordinator Norm Chow . 'Obviously, he has it."

So, what happened?

It's obvious the kid struggled with some mental issues. If he once had that "it" factor as Norm Chow said, he lost "it". He couldn't keep it together when fans booed him. That's just unacceptable in the NFL. You don't throw a tantrum and refuse to go back out onto the field. Bad things are GOING to happen. Interceptions will be thrown. But to play in the NFL, you have to go back out there on the next possession and pretend like it is a new beginning every time. You can't let things get to you mentally or it's just a downward spiral.

Vince gets a second chance now. Bad things WILL happen. But his true test will be how he handles adversity.

I honestly don't have much hope for him, but I'm glad he's being given the chance. The Titans need to know if he has "it" back, before 2010 rolls around.
