Vince Young (1 Viewer)

First Down

If (big IF) Bush is found guilt of violating NCAA rules does this mean that the USC record will be wiped out AND Reggie Bush would have to give back the Heisman?? That would be cool.

If he is ruled ineligible(a big if), then the Heisman Committee(which is seperate from the NCAA) would have to agree to take the Heisman away and give it to Young.

Id wager there's 0% chance of that happening. Would be horrible publicity for them. Giving the trophy to a lesser (in their eyes) player because of an infraction that didnt give Bush any benefit on the field would be hard to justify.

Just listened to the yahoo sports dude that broke this story on The Jungle (Rome).

He said his source approached him at Vince Young's pro-day.

Interesting tidbit of info I thought.

If I'm Young and this happened, I'd be giving Bush back the Heisman.

I'd feel like such a chump having it in my house, knowing that I only got it due to a technicality. If Bush was doing steroids, maybe I keep it. But for this... The class move would be to hold a press conference, give the Trophy back to Bush and talk about how unjust the NCAA system is.

1) It appears the person who ratted out Bush came from Young's posse.. see above. That addresses any issues of "class."2) If you think for one second Young and every other college stud athlete isn't/wasn't on the take you are sadly mistaken.

This is all part of the draft game, not saying what bush did is wrong or right - just that it is commonplace.

That's my point. For Bush to lose the award when so many NCAA stars get all kinds of "perks" is b*ll-#####. The class move by Young would be to give back the award due the hypocracy of the NCAA regulations.

Did anyone else hear this? Also, that was a media zoo...one of the biggest pro day turnouts ever by all accounts from journalists and scouts. Just because (if) it happened on Austin doesn't mean it was one of Young's "posse" as you put it.

I seriously doubt this will happen, but if did, there's no guarantee they'd try to award it to Young, or that they'd try to re-award it at all, which IMHO would be best.If they did try to give it to Young, I'd hope he'd turn it down.

So now you're attacking Young's class based purely on hypotheticals. It just never ends with you.
