Vinyl Records (1 Viewer)

Found a bunch of them that use to belong to my parents. There some bands like the Beatles, Bee Gees and a bunch of other stuff from the 60's/70's. I have no interest in keeping them so what's the best way to sell them? Local store, ebay etc? Any idea who has the best site for actual value? Not looking to make a killing but I also don't want to get ripped off.

your local record store will likely give you about 1/2 of the Ebay value, but it's cash on the spot (and you don't have to deal with shipping, collections, etc).

Be prepared to be disappointed in how much they’re worth.

Look on Discogs to see what sellers are asking. Send me a list with conditions and I'll make an offer. I buy a lot of vinyl, but usually at estate sales, etc.

Discogs is the best site to see market value but you have to make sure you’re looking at the exact same version/pressing.

What they said.

Generally, a used record store is what you want to sell the entire lot (ebay seems like a pain unless you really want to get into the shipping business. Vinyl records are deceptively heavy too, so selling a bunch via mail is difficult). But a used record store isn't going to pay all that much ($1-3 ea, depending on demand/condition.) Even stuff like old Beatles albums aren't worth all that much unless it's some ultra-rare pressing.
