Waiver Pickups for Week 7 (1 Viewer)

Week 6 - Immediate Impact Free Agent Pickups

Quarterbacks

Nick Foles - 22-31 for 296 yards and 3 tds, 1 rushing td.

Running Backs
Jacquizz Rodgers - should not be on waivers, but may have dropped during his bye and Steven Jackson coming back.
Chris Ogbonnaya - 12 targets last week, which led the team. 7 receptions for 61 yards.
Brandon Jacob - 22 carries for 106 yards and 2 tds last week against Chicago D.
Andre Ellington - 7 carries for 56 yards and a td. Caught all 5 targets for 36 yards
Zach Stacy - 18 rushes for 79 yards and 2 catches for 11 yards

Top RB Handcuffs AvailableKendal Hunter - Solid with Gore in the lineup, imagine potential if Gore gets hurt.
Bernard Pierce - May have been dropped and would be in line for big work load if Rice goes down.
Khiry Robinson - If Pierre or Sproles goes down this guy might have value. Led the team with 53 yards on 7 carries.
Joseph Randle - Came in for the injured Demarco Murrey. 11 carries for only 17 yards and a td, but added 2 catches for 15 yards.Mikel Leshoure - if Joique Bell injury is serious, he will be the backup for Reggie Bush.
Wide Receivers
Reuben Randle - grabbed 3 of 5 targets for 75 yards and a td.Golden Tate - Led the WR's with 7 targets, and grabbed 5 receptions for 33 yards. Tate has averaged just under 10 pts a game through 6 games.

Marlon Brown - grabbed 3 of 7 targets for 71 yards.

Aaron Dobson - 10 targets, and grabbed 6 receptions for 63 yards.

Kris Duram - WR Detroit - 13 targets which led the team. 8 receptions for 83 yards.

Kenny Stills - NO WR - depends on Graham's injury. Led all Saints WR's with 64 yards and a td, but only got 3 targets.

Jacoby Jones - caught all 2 targets for 41 yards and a td.

Jarreett Boykin - WR GB - Cobb and Jones are hurt. Caught 1 or 6 targets for 43 yards.

Emmanual Sanders - 3 of 6 targets for 70 yards and a TD last week.

Brain LaFell - caught 4 out of 4 targets for 107 and a td last week.
Riley Cooper - grabbed 4 of 6 targets for 120 yards and a td.
Cole Beasley - caught 4 out of 5 targets for 44 yards.
Tight Ends

Kyle Rudolph - 9 of 11 targets. 9 receptions for 97 yards and a td.
Dallas Clark - 4 of 6 targets for 81 yards and a td.Jeff Cumberland - 4 of 5 targets for 59 yards last week.
Timothy Wright - grabbed 7 of 9 targets for 91 yards.
Jordan Reed - caught 4 out of 6 targets for 58 yards.
Joseph Fauria - 3 receptions for 34 yards and 3 tds.

Kickers
Mason Crosby - nailed 4 FG's including a 50 yarder.
Top Notch players that will help you win in 2-6 weeks.
Percy Harvin - If you haven't grabbed him yet, this is the last week you will have the chance.
Michael Crabtree - Mid Nov. Comeback which is only 4 weeks away.Shane Vareen - Eligible week 11 after week 10 bye which is 6 weeks away.

Josh Freeman - Will start this week or next.

Jonathan Stewart - Expected to come off PUP week 7.
Great list - not sure about "immediate" impact for a lot of those names.

Add Harry Douglas

Marlon Brown? I dropped him in my 16-team league for Keenan Allen. I still think KA has a higher upside, but Brown was an OK starter for me for a few weeks. They seem to look for him in the red zone.

If Graham is out for an extended period, then grab Stills and Toon - those targets WILL go somewhere in an offense with Brees as QB.
some of them to Ben Watson .... BUT since they have a bye this week, way too early to tell - esp since we don't know what the injury is
If Graham is out Lance Moore might suddenly find his health if you know what I mean

I think Ben Watson will be a super hot commodity if Graham is out for any significant amount of time. I have great TEs on my teams though so it won't be me.

Tim Wright was ballin yesterday. He dropped a sure TD in the end zone too. Probably a result of the Eagles D a bit, but it's not like teams can focus on stopping him with VJax and Hamster. Worth a shot if you need a TE to replace Jimmy Graham for a bit.

Jordan Reed looked real good too.

Reports of Green Bay trying to sign Tavarres King off The Broncos' practice squad. With Cobb out, he may be wr3 in GB.

What about Scott Chandler? 6, 6, 3, 6, 4 in targets and a TD last week. Wright and Clark seem like good options also I suppose.

Maybe, but keep two things in mind:

1. Prior to Graham, no Saints TEs were ever fantasy relevant, so it's not like Payton's offensive schemes are built around the TE or anything.

2. That's the same logic that turned Zach Sudfeld into a fantasy sleeper this year. :-)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if Graham were to miss any significant time it just benefits guys like Colston and Stills. That said, most recent reports are that he's fine and should be a-okay to play next week after the bye.

Jeremy Shockey down? Yes, he was often down, but he was still fantasy relevant in his 3 years in NO.

Plus, David Thomas last year scored in weeks 11, 14, and 15, when Graham was playing thru his injury.

Not really... his best season with the Saints was in 2009 where in 13 games he put up 48 receptions, 569 yards and 3 TDs or about an average of 3.69 r/pg, 43.76 y/pg, 0.23 td/pg. That was low end TE2 numbers in 2009, he finished as TE18 that year (according to FBG Historical Data Dominator). He was a bye week/injury filler in his best season... not very relevant. By that same token, Bo Scaife and Will Heller finished around the same spot as him.

As for WW... if Keenan Allen is somehow still out there and you need a WR I think you need to bet the farm to get him. Kids been seeing more and more targets and more and more receptions every week for the last 4 weeks. Over the last 3 weeks he's been the #3 WR overall. Behind only Alshon Jeffery and Dez Bryant in PPR.

Shockey was a different guy by the time he got to the Saints. Graham is a special talent but in his heyday with the Giants Shockey also played for Payton and that's where he made his name.

Watson has looked good, but no one's expecting a true Graham replacement from any TE.

That's irrelevant the quote was "Jeremy Shockey, was still relevant in his 3 years in NO" which simply isn't true. The only productive TE they've had here is Graham. It's the exact same misconception as with the Patriots. Prior to Gronk and Hernandez they were never big on TE usage. It was personnel groupings that lead to both these teams abuse of the position.

Watson did have his most Targets and yards this week ... I don't think that was totally coincidental

Ok maybe it's a question of what you consider relevant. The Saints sought TEs for 2006-07, they tried to find talent with a series of misses, maybe Colston sort of filled that role. In 2008-2010 they had Shockey and he had some decent games, he was worth having, as you have it I'd say around 45-50 catches, 450-500+ yards was typical for him. Maybe that wasn't TE1 but as you said above TE2. I'd say adding to a roster as a bye week fill in or as a backup is still relevant. No one's going to "replace" Graham or almost any other true TE1 at this stage. But if we're talking redraft vs Reed, G. Graham, Rudolph, Cumberland, McGrath, and that ilk, to add this week or next I'd say Watson would be in the discussion. I'll tell you one thing, if Graham was out Watson would have a decent shot at a TD in every game.

Hopefully Jimmy is good to go by week 8, that's what I'm expecting.

Relevant TE DNE good TE. 16 team leagues = lots of relevant TEs. Bye week filler = relevant. Bo Scaife was relevant for a brief moment in time. Relevant TE isn't a high bar. Ben Watson will be relevant if Graham is out.

What are everyone's thoughts on Brandon Jacobs?

Was last week a total fluke?

Does the 31 year old have enough tread on the tires?

He really has no competition to speak until Brown gets back.

My waiver pickups are limited so I'm trying to decide between him and Randle. Randle seems like a 1 week fix depending what is going on with Murray's leg.

Week 6 - Immediate Impact Free Agent Pickups

Quarterbacks

Nick Foles - 22-31 for 296 yards and 3 tds, 1 rushing td. It is not a certainty Vick steps back in as starter, although that seems probable. Vick will be on a short leash if he begins to falter, and given Vick's propensity to get injured, I am pretty certain this is not the last we have heard of Foles this season, regardless.
Thad Lewis - 19-32 for 216 yards and 2 TDs, 17 yards rushing and 1 TD. Lewis far exceeded my expectations and deserves to be mentioned here. He is hobbled with a bad foot, but he could play this week.

Running Backs
Jacquizz Rodgers - should not be on waivers, but may have dropped during his bye and Steven Jackson coming back. Steven Jackson may return this week, but as of today, he is still not practicing. Once Jackson returns, Quizz's value will be capped, but he is likely going to still get some touches -- just don't expect many rushing TDs (the 2 rushing TDs this week doubled his career total!)
Chris Ogbonnaya - 12 targets last week, which led the team. 7 receptions for 61 yards. Silent G is silently carving out a nice PPR role for himself.
Brandon Jacobs - 22 carries for 106 yards and 2 tds last week against Chicago D. Jacobs looked spry and youthful last week, but in true geriatric fashion, Jacobs is nursing a hamstring now. Jacobs could benefit from the extra long week (Thursday to Monday), but look for Michael Cox to have some value this week. With Wilson only sidelined for 3-4 weeks, Andre Brown due back Week 10, and a Week 9 bye, Jacobs has a small window to perform, but he does have a Week 8 game at Philly that could be worth grabbing him for.
Andre Ellington - 7 carries for 56 yards and a td. Caught all 5 targets for 36 yards Ellington should not be on anyone's waiver wires at this point.
Zac Stacy - 18 rushes for 79 yards and 2 catches for 11 yards. Stacy has 157 rushing yards over the past two weeks, and he is averaging nearly 5 ypc. It is worth noting that the Rams have scored 72 points over those 2 games (albeit helped by some defensive scores), both Rams wins. It will be interesting to see how Stacy is used in tighter games.

Top RB Handcuffs AvailableKendall Hunter - Solid with Gore in the lineup, imagine potential if Gore gets hurt. Hunter has shown he has significant value even in a part-time role and should not be on anyone's waiver wires.
Bernard Pierce - May have been dropped and would be in line for big work load if Rice goes down. Still one of the premiere handcuffs
Khiry Robinson - If Pierre or Sproles goes down this guy might have value. Led the team with 53 yards on 7 carries. Robinson is running strong, but the Saints have not relied much upon their running game. If Jimmy Graham misses some time, perhaps the Saints would lean a little more on their rushing attack, but I doubt it, and there are still too many mouths to feed to make Robinson rosterable in most leagues.
Joseph Randle - Came in for the injured Demarco Murray. 11 carries for only 17 yards and a td, but added 2 catches for 15 yards. With Lance Dunbar still hobbled, it looks like Randle will get the opportunity to be the Cowboys' lead back, and he has a great Week #7 matchup. If you are looking beyond this week, however, Dunbar is the handcuff I would be targeting, especially in PPR leagues.Mikel Leshoure - if Joique Bell injury is serious, he will be the backup for Reggie Bush. X-rays on Bell's ribs were reportedly negative, so hard to recommend Leshoure.
Wide Receivers
Reuben Randle - grabbed 3 of 5 targets for 75 yards and a td. Randle has been fantastic. Nicks has been the focus of many trade rumors, and if he were to depart, Randle's role would increase. Definite grab if he is out there, although I doubt he is on (m)any waiver wires.Golden Tate - Led the WR's with 7 targets, and grabbed 5 receptions for 33 yards. Tate has averaged just under 10 pts a game through 6 games. I like Tate, but with Harvin's return nearing, Tate's upside is limited.

Marlon Brown - grabbed 3 of 7 targets for 71 yards. Brown was especially appealing before his injury because he was was being used in redzone opportunities. Week 6 saw Jones and Dallas Clark score. Brown did have a career high in yards this week, but until he starts getting more than 3-4 catches a week, he is difficult to rely upon for fantasy production.

Aaron Dobson - 10 targets, and grabbed 6 receptions for 63 yards. "Dropson" dropped a crucial 4th down pass late against the Saints. The drops have become problematic, and if Amendola is unable to go this week, look for Austin Collie to be utilized more. Collie might be the guy you want to add, rather than Dobson.

Kris Durham - WR Detroit - 13 targets which led the team. 8 receptions for 83 yards. The king-size wideout was impressive, but upon Megatron's return, will Durham still be worth plugging into your lineup?

Kenny Stills - NO WR - depends on Graham's injury. Led all Saints WR's with 64 yards and a td, but only got 3 targets. Stills had an impressive TD catch in the 4th Quarter against the Patriots, and if Jimmy Graham misses some time, it is possible Stills gets more involved.

Jacoby Jones - caught all 2 targets for 41 yards and a td. Jones returned this week, but both Brown and Tandon Doss were more involved. Doss had 4 catches for 99 yards on 6 targets, and Brown had 3 catches for 71 yards on 7 targets. In terms of snaps, Brown was in on 47, Doss 41 and Jones only 17. It is certainly conceivable that number expands for Jones as he rounds back into form, but I have my doubts.

Jarrett Boykin - WR GB - Cobb and Jones are hurt. Caught 1 or 6 targets for 43 yards. Jones should be back quickly, but it looks like Cobb will miss some time, perhaps opening the door to Boykin to get some touches. I don't expect much. Green Bay's running game is firing on all cylinders, and look for Finley to be more involved.

Emmanuel Sanders - 3 of 6 targets for 70 yards and a TD last week. Sanders has never scored more than twice in a season, and he has the same number of career 100-yard receiving games as I have. Zero. If you are looking for a 3-4 reception a week guy for 60 yards, Sanders fits the bill.

Brandon LaFell - caught 4 out of 4 targets for 107 and a td last week. LaFell shows glimpses, but he has been mostly a fantasy tease thus far. He does have 11 receptions for 207 yards on 18 targets over his past three games, so perhaps he has turned the corner. I do like him over Ginn.
Riley Cooper - grabbed 4 of 6 targets for 120 yards and a td. Cooper is coming off a career game. Foles targeted Cooper 6 times this week. Interestingly, Vick targeted Cooper 6 times in Week 1 and 7 times Week 3, so there may not be a statistical drop off if Vick is back at QB.
Cole Beasley - caught 4 out of 5 targets for 44 yards. Beasley looked tremendous. Very Welker-like. However, with Dez, Witten, Williams and Austin all vying for targets, it leaves very few leftovers for Beasley, even with Murray sidelined. Could they loan Beasley to the Patriots?
Tight Ends

Kyle Rudolph - 9 of 11 targets. 9 receptions for 97 yards and a td. Rudolph started the season slow, but things are looking up for him. Last season, Rudolph had 53 rec. 493 yards and 9 TDs. He is unlikely to match that TD total this season, but otherwise, he should have a similar season, putting him in the TE15 range.
Dallas Clark - 4 of 6 targets for 81 yards and a td. meh. I am not buying. Clark makes a good plug in if your TE is on bye or injured, but little more.Jeff Cumberland - 4 of 5 targets for 59 yards last week. Strictly a bye week or injury fill in.
Timothy Wright - grabbed 7 of 9 targets for 91 yards. In the two games that Glennon has started, Wright has 12 receptions for 132 yards on 15 targets. Even with Mike Williams back this week, I expect the converted wideout to continue to be in the mix.
Jordan Reed - caught 4 out of 6 targets for 58 yards. Reed is playing some good football, and he is being consistently targeted. Reed could develop into a real force at TE.
Joseph Fauria - 3 receptions for 34 yards and 3 tds. The undrafted rookie now has 5 TDs on the season, not only leading the Lions in that category, but Fauria has more TDs than LeSean McCoy, Ray Rice, Arian Foster, Matt Forte or Doug Martin. He is little utilized outside of the redzone, however.

Kickers
Mason Crosby - nailed 4 FG's including a 50 yarder. Kickers can make or break your fantasy season, but good luck figuring out who to roster. You might be chasing points, but he looks like a definite add. He has made 12 FG over his past 3 games.
Top Notch players that will help you win in 2-6 weeks.
Percy Harvin - If you haven't grabbed him yet, this is the last week you will have the chance. Should be rostered.
Michael Crabtree - Mid Nov. Comeback which is only 4 weeks away. We'll see if he is able to comeback, but the NIners need him.Shane Vereen - Eligible week 11 after week 10 bye which is 6 weeks away. Ridley finally looked good this week, but Vereen's role will be there for him when he returns. Bolden has done nothing to put that in jeopardy.

Josh Freeman - Will start this week or next. Freeman is an upgrade for the Vikes, and potentially opens the offense up more, but I am not racing out to roster him yet.

Jonathan Stewart - Expected to come off PUP week 7. Should be rostered, but don't look for immediate results.
Nice list. I added my thoughts in Red

Need a TE to fill in for Graham's bye (and possibly injury). I think I'm going to pick up Jordan Reed over all the other normal guys available on waivers. His snap count has been increasing and Fred Davis seems to be just about done. I can only imagine the Redskins continue to improve as the season goes on and RG3 gets his confidence back.

Where is Andre Brown?
Not back till at least week 11 since he's on the short term IR.
Where do you get 11 from? He was hurt in preseason, so 8 weeks is getting very close to being over.
He can first play in Week 10.

In fact, Brown won't be eligible to return to game action until Week 10. A player on injured reserve who is designated to return can resume practicing with his team after six weeks but must miss eight weeks of games. The Giants have a bye in Week 9. Brown will be eligible to play again in the Nov. 10 game against the Raiders.

Haha I didn't see Brandon LaFell up there because it was spelled Brain LaFell. Haha was looking for Brandon somewhere and didn't see it.

I would have to say that I respect the commentary. Your comments on Kendall Hunter, Dunbar, and Collie were interesting, but I disagree with your evaluation of Emmanual Sanders. Having already had his bye, Sanders has amassed 44 targets over 5 games. He is averaging 11.82 points, and almost 8.8 targets per game. Seems like a guy to keep an eye on if you need help at the WR position. He isn't a sexy player to start, but a decent option to have at the flex position.

I feel the same way about Golden Tate, but agree that his value plummets with Harvin's return. Jordan Reed is a guy that is available on most waiver wires, and again I agree that he could be extremely valuable down the stretch. Kyle Rudolph will most likely be snatched up this week by Graham owners or those that are looking for an upgrade at the TE position. I believe that Freeman actually increases the value of Rudolph. I had my eye on Ginn this week as he seems to have turned the corner with his route running ability, but LaFell appears to be doing a lot with the few targets he is getting. He has averaged 6.5 targets over 4 games, but has scored 14.7 points per game in the 4 games he has played in.

Personally I feel the waiver wire pickup of the year is still out there.

Here is who I have listed in order for my big money league. These selections are based on availability and my needs.

1. Jacquizz Rodgers

2. Chris Ogbonnaya

3. Rueben Randle

4. Emmanuel Sanders

5. Joseph Randle

6. Brandon Lefell

7. Kyle Rudolph

8. Bernard Pierce

9. Kendall Hunter

Other considerations include: Nick Foles, Aaron Dobson, Marlon Brown, Mike Tolbert, Golden Tate, Joe Flacco, Shane Vareen, Jonathan Stewart, Mario Manningham, Michael Crabtree.

Marlon Brown? I dropped him in my 16-team league for Keenan Allen. I still think KA has a higher upside, but Brown was an OK starter for me for a few weeks. They seem to look for him in the red zone.
Good thought.

I'm also wondering about Jacoby Jones, either impacting Brown or himself being a good add.

I'd take a flyer on Boykin since Cobb's gone and not sure about Jones. You know Rodgers will throw & spread it around. Another guy to look at that's been around a while is Harry Douglas. Jones is out,White is gimpy, so there should be plenty of targets for Harry.

Which is why I said week 11. If you think he'll make an impact in the first week back coming back from injury you're mistaken.

Christine Michael. If Lynch gets hurt, then you hit the jackpot. If Lynch doesn't get hurt, then you drop Michael on Friday for another flier. Now, you can't do this on MFL and ESPN, but Y! allows for it

Can do != Should do
It's not particularly sneaky. I've played in Yahoo leagues on and off for years. I play the waivers a lot. I have most likely cut (benched)Thursday players before Sunday a handful of times by now. I don't think it would ever have occurred to me that there might be something illegitimate about doing so. It's Yahoo. Them's the rules. It's not a loophole; it's how Yahoo leagues are supposed to work.

My Jacobs thought is it's perplexing how much people are arguing about the guy.

If you're pretty well set @RB the next couple weeks you don't bother because he stinks, will probably get hurt, and the Bears were down their 3 best DT's.

If you are desperate for immediate RB help he's a no-brainer because he's the main guy at least for a couple weeks in an offense that for all its problems can still move the ball and he has good match-ups the next two weeks.

Seems pretty clear cut to me.

Is Bryce Brown on anyone (everyone's) waiver wire? In a deep league, who should he be rostered over? Pierce, Ogbonnaya, Randle, Hunter, Jacobs, Hillis, Khiry, etc.?

He just got cut in my league.

MFL also allows for players to be dropped from Thursday games if the waivers remain open through the weekend.

None of us do this in our leagues, as it provides an unfair advantage. Adding or dropping Thursday players after

Thursday kickoff should be prohibited for the remainder of the weekend.

I like his upside over all those guys if you aren't planning on playing him the next couple weeks.

Of course it's illegitimate -- you have two players in one slot that week.

Wow. The Shady owner is insane for not having this guy. Pick him up now.

As a preemptive move, it might be time to sign Dennis Pitta off of waivers. He could return as soon as Week #9 and give your team a boost for a deep fantasy playoff run.
