Bye weeks are here. Chi, GB, Pit, Atl all on bye week 5. Fill ins will be in high demand now. A couple new names popped up but mostly the same from the last 2 weeks.

I think (hope) Slayton is a good pickup having lost Nabers. He has shown the ability to put up points when called upon.
And somebody has to catch balls in NY.
I have no choice. My WRs have been terrible this year. I have to blow a lot of FAAB on the chance Slayton takes off in Nabers absence or my seasons done anyway.

How much

How much FAAB are we blowing on Slayton in redraft?

I’m thinking $36 or $41, to be aggressive for what will be a team’s #1 WR RoS.

I’ve been sitting on #1 WW priority in my home PPR IDP redraft.

Denille Hunter & Kenneth Gainwell both on the wire. I’ve got Cook, Chase Brown, Jordan Mason, and JCM as my RB corps, so Gainwell is the add, right?

Uh, right? :oldunsure:

Worth blowing the 1 on, or flash in the pan who’s gonna lose his shine when Warren comes back?!

I could also use the DE, and Hunter will very likely be claimed by someone. So it’s one or the other… or neither?

I think Hunter by a mile unless the sacks aren't worth a lot in the league.

They’re worth 6, same as a TD.

Yeah, I think Gainwell finds his way back to the bench. But please don't listen to me, all other things constant.

I'd still go Hunter, even if you don't listen to me.

I don't think Warren lost the job yet. FWIW if anything RBBC, plus Kaleb looms for 2nd half of season.

I would be all in on Hunter then. Get another DE1.

Gainwell could have earned more work. But I think Warren is still the man. I think Gainwell is going to be hard to rely on/feel good about starting as long as Warren is healthy.

Right now I have it Hunter 1st, Gainwell 2nd.

Ooh, I just read Waldman and you might reconsider. Check out his article.
Cliff notes?

Just says he always liked Gainwell and to monitor Warren's knee. He says:

"Gainwell's versatility, along with his conceptual (vision and game management) and technical skills (footwork and pad level), are starter-caliber. His athletic ability is reserve-level, but as we've seen for many years, reserve-level athletes behind good offensive lines and smart quarterback play can deliver good, and sometimes, excellent seasons.

Monitor Jaylen Warren's knee. If Warren's injury becomes a multi-week problem, or worse, Gainwell's experience and smarts could make him the lead back for the rest of the year -- not Kaleb Johnson.

It means you might want to make Gainwell a preemptive addition to your roster in leagues where you have a strong squad with one luxury spot, or you're a struggling squad and the waiver wire cupboard has been bare."

Isaiah Bond anything? Tillman reportedly out “weeks.”
Potential is there for something. Was considered by some above Golden at Texas before last season. I took a flier on him in dynasty but had to cut, then he signed with CLEV like 4 days later. I might throw a small bid on him, since I have a droppable WR currently.

Yes, that's all stuff I kinda knew - but "if" is doing all the heavy lifting here. So unless we get news about Warren's knee before waivers run tonight, then I'm burning that #1 pick on a gamble. Pretty sure Hunter is a DE1 regardless. They're both luxury pick-ups. I could probably use the RB more so I guess I'll keep checking for news about Warren.

Yep. I'm just giving you all the subjective data I can. I'd still go with Hunter, but an RB that is starting is usually more valuable.

That's how I feel.

It's the old family guy thing.
Hunter is a weekly starter. Gainwell could be anything. He could even be a weekly starter.

I would personally go for the sure fire value.

Supposedly Warren was close enough to good that he worked out on Sunday before deciding against it. So that's one week of rest, plus another with the Bye. I'd be very surprised if he's not good to go for Week 6.

I don't play IDP, so can't give a fair comparison across positions, but right now I'd label Gainwell an RB3. Could be a top handcuff if Warren gets hurt again, but will be a maddening share if all 3 backs are healthy. Plus I think Tomlin is the kind of coach that wants to give a kid like Kaleb a chance to work his way out of the dog house. Kaleb would have to earn it in practice before games, but I don't think the door is slammed shut.

would you rather have Kendre Miller or Isaiah Bond ROS?

That's very difficult because Bond will certainly get snaps, but his QB situation really got downgraded today. Miller is the wildcard of this whole thing for me because I invested too much in dynasty to ever be fully objective in either a positive or negative way.

I just always thought Kendre was really good, but how much is worth on that team and behind that line? Taysom Hill coming off of PUP to practice so there might be your goal line work depending on how Kellen Moore wants to play it?

Who knows?

Waller is available out there. Is he worth 30-50% of my free agent funds? My TE is Marc Andrew and Harold Fannin
I’m not paying near that much for 4 targets
Only 16 snaps. That will increase. Waller could be Tua's security blanket. TBD. 50% seems too much this early.
The question is what can his snaps increase to. It is hard to see him holding up to a big workload, but if he could be could be a top 10 TE

I’ve been hoarding the #1 waiver priority since week 1, I’m leading the league in scoring and am 4-0

My RBs are weak: C Brown, Pollard, Warren, Gainwell, A Jones(IR)

I don’t spend my waiver priority on R White, right? Should I hold and wait for a real league winner?

Probably not, especially if you can get Sean Tucker for free after waivers (maybe).

Hate when I’m in that position.

We don’t know how extreme the Bucky injury is yet.

Going 50% plus FAAB on Woody Marks. Is that crazy?

Don’t necessarily NEED him, but this feels like a potential league winner in PPR.

How high are you guys willing to spend?

Depends on who the RB2s not rostered in your league are
