Waiver Wire Defense (1 Viewer)

Who do you feel are DST units that are likely to be sitting on the waiver wire or in free agent pools that present reasonable value this week?

The two I seem to be kicking around in my head are Atlanta at home hosting the Redskins, and Seattle at home hosting Detroit.

Looking pretty thin this week for those of us who don't have a top unit that we can leave in regardless of matchup.

These are the two that I've been looking at. Leaning towards the Falcons as the Redskins have been a mess. Plus, the Falcons looked decent against the Saints.

I think for most of the game, the Falcons looked better than decent against the Saints. It was a close game.

How about the Seahawks vs. a most likely CJ-Less Lions? If the Rams held them to 7 points no telling what seahawks can do.

I think the Skins are terrible on O this year.

That said, they're coming off of a bye, and Atlanta is coming off of a short week.

Probably not the best choice to roll with Atlanta this week imo.

Yeah? I thought ATL's defense looked pretty good all things considered vs the Saints.WAS just lost Cooley and I'm not sure what's supposed to happen over the bye to change things there.

I like this one a lot in deeper leagues. Even if Calvin returns, I don't think the Lions are going to fare well on the road.

The 49ers just lost Nate Clements, who was their leading candidate to get a Pick-6. They still have Willis & are an above-average NFL Defense, so they're an OK option if available.

I carried Atlanta for a few weeks & started them twice, they suck as both a fantasy defense & an NFL defense. I know they got a TD last night, but they don't have enough playmakers to do any FF damage. I'd consider Seattle over Atlanta.

Think the Lions have 3 wins in their past 15 games out west something really silly
Ironically, thats still a better percentage than their TOTAL # of wins in the last 15 games. I think Seattle is a great play this week.

I like Seattle at home vs. Detroit for week 9. I smell a shutout.

Looking ahead to week 10, Miami gets a home game vs. Tampa. Might pick them up if you have space.

Atlanta has a lot of speed and inexperience on defense. They are very inconsistent, which makes them an average NFL defense. But, given the right matchup, like next week @ home vs Washington, they can be a very good play. Abraham and the dline rotation is very formidable. Lofton and Peterson are both playmakers at linebacker. And DeCoud seems to always be in the mix in the secondary. Losing Brian Williams definitely hurt them, but the Redskins aren't exactly a team that can exploit that like the Saints did. I like Atlanta this week to be flying around @ home and make some big plays. They are not going to shut teams out necessarily, but they do have that big play potential.

New England is actually on my WW but I'm not sure if I want them or the Seahawks. The Dolphins usually play pretty tough against the Pats.

Do you think the Pats are the play here because they are the better D or go with the team that is playing the much weaker opponent?
