Waiver Wire & FAAB Discussion heading into the Week 3 games (1 Viewer)

Alec Pierce definitely needs to be owned at this point.

Mike Gesicki looking like a solid TE in Cincy.

Desperation play but Josh Reynolds was the only guy catching the ball for Nix it seemed.

I’m still struggling to see how Pierce needs to be owned? Good start but feels like the bottom will fall out given the other WR options on the team.

Feels like A Rich is a downfield passing god I guess but still. Pittman is just THAT dead? And AD Mitchell is just a rookie so I understand that.

The team continues to lose- they need to get back to the running basics.

Depending on how deep your league is; Jalen Nailor. Addison has an ankle injury I don't think we have a full view of yet, Jefferson got banged up (shouldn't miss any time tho), and Nailor wound up second in targets. Better yet, he did pretty well with those targets. No league winner, but Darnold has been better than expected and I think he's a solid bench stash for bye weeks and in case Addison (or JJ) miss extended time.

Derek Carr

Braelon Allen
Antonio Gibson
Samaje Perine
Carson Steele

Quentin Johnston
Jalen Nailor
Alec Pierce

Hunter Henry
As someone who feels a bit shaky as a Jalon Daniels owner, I will be spending a fair amount of FAAB on Carr in my 1QB redraft league tomorrow night.

Braelon Allen and Perine are the two RBs I'd want most. Steele will have FAAB blown on him, but Perine is the back to own in KC. I see Steele being used as the 3rd and 1 grinder and maybe getting the rare TD, but not fantasy relevant. Braelon Allen is one injury away from being a top 5 RB.

Slim pickings at WR. QJ is fool's gold and will almost certainly revert back to what we know about him.

is a Superbowl team in the chiefs really going to roll with carson steele getting 10-15 carries per game? can they sign dalvin cook off cowboys practice squad?

How much would you be looking at for Skylar Thompson in SF?
Ooof.

We don't know how long Tua is out, we don't know if they are going to bring someone in and we don't know how bad Skylar is.

I wouldn't push it.
Thompson is fools gold, even for SF. In 1QB leagues is less than fools gold.
Yeah, but I'm off to a good start in SFB but my weak spot was already QB and I just lost Tua.
I'm left with Justin Fields, Russel Wilson, and Jacoby Brissett... so looks like I'm the fool! :x:shrug:

Maybe the camp reports weren't just coach speak? Maybe he did actually become a better route runner? He's a deep ball monster, if he added one or two solid routes to play off that strenght DBs will be spinnin'. Maybe he isn't just a one trick pony anymore and is actually taking the leap the coaches said he was? He's one of three 2nd round picks at WR playing for the Colts, so I don't see any reason why he can't continue to do well here. Indy's D is terrible and they'll want to keep developing AR this season. Mitchell and Pierce on the outside with Pittman working out of the slot seems like a nasty combo. Pierce's rostered everywhere I play, but if he wasn't, I would be BUYING!

ETA - This is his 3rd year in the league, with shaky QB play in his first two, and he's still only 24. Don't sleep on this kid.

I think when Downs comes back he'll play slot

That is no longer a bad thing you know.

Who would be the main handcuff for Josh Jacobs? He's a strong dude but that kind of workload (after years of big workload) might cause him to break down, and Packers O should be good once Love comes back.

Oh I know. And for that reason I think Downs is the WR to have. But he wasn't even mentioned in the prior post

I’m trying to figure out how much to spend on Braelon Allen.

Pretty okay at RB… and actually Need a WR2 and a QB3 for SuperFlex… but don’t love anything that’s out there so may go for the glory. Something just says he has it.

Possibly, but not at the expense of Pierce. Maybe Downs and Mitchell split action? Maybe one takes over and one gets less time? Who knows? I should have been more clear, although Pittman has worked mostly outside in his career he has been getting acclimated to the slot and if he were to move there with Mitchell and Pierce on the outside it could be frightening for defenses. Downs is a good slot WR, more traditional I suppose. Regardless, I still think Pierce is the WR to own in this group for 2024.

Robinson, Whittington, or Atwell depending on which one may be available
For the time being, Whittington intrigues me a bit among the remaining Rams WRs still standing, although not enough to spend a lot on him. He's gotten a fair amount of buzz since pre-season.

I think with the loss of Both CMAC and now Deebo, there is some target share to be had in SF, and I think the three beneficiaries are Jennings, Kuszczyk, and perhaps Chris Conley or Ronnie Bell

I need to dive into this more, and it may be a case that SF this year gets torpedoed by the injury bug, but Deebo and Kyle were being used in the passing game bc Mason is no CMAC in that area, but now its all up for grabs.

Plus 1, heard he took the Kupp role after he went down to injury. Good darkhorse t be the top receiver for fantasy and most likely cheapest.

What are people's thought on Jonnu Smith? He went 6 of 7 for 53 yards. Could Thompson help him with check downs. Need some TE help with Njoku hurt and Parkinson being in a bad situation.

FWIW - I've typically seen TE's in those situations being kept back to block more. But I can see 4/30/0 upside.

Best Rb pickup this week is Cam Akers.
Why? Do you have inside info on Mixon's ankle? And if Mixon is out Pierce will play a role as well making it a RBBC.
I read that it isn't a long term thing with Mixon.
i haven't read that. will reduce my offer accordingly. I still think Akers is a plug and play RB2 while Mixon is out.
Akers is probably a one week guy, but could be more I suppose.

Downs and ARich had a good connection last year in rookie camp. Downs had a very solid rookie season. He's my pick over Alec Pierce. I know they play different roles but I think Arich quite likes Downs. Only issue is Downs staying healthy. He was always banged up in college too.
