I'm saying that because he's a rookie and no one know how he'll do as a starter in the NFL. It's like people predicting 1800 yards for Cerdic Benson, it's rediculous!! People have these huge losft expectations for people that have never played in the NFL, we've found out over and over again that it's virtually impossible to project numbers for players that have never played in the NFL before. If you project numbers for 10 rookies you may be semi close in 1 out of 10 of your predictions, if you're lucky maybe 2.So no more predictions or projections from anyone?And get me out of your avatar. I'm not saying he won't be good I'm just saying I don't know, and you predicting he'll be like FWP is stupid, how do you know? What leads you to think he can be as good as Willie Parker? Joseph Addai, like JJ Arrington came into preseason with tons of hype and a great opportunity and blew itWali Lundy, like FWP came into preseason as a realtive unknown who has made the most of his opportunity.Both players had solid preseasons and both filled this message board with opinions. If Lundy has the same year as FWP, then great, a number of people will have stolen him.As far as predicting him to be FWP, I was comparing the two. Just let them make their guesses and let the hype boil to one of two outcomes:You get great value in draft based on hyping rookies.You trade away a hyped rookie sleeper that is overvalued based on preseason assesments.Most rookies don't perform up to the preseason hypes, but it is fun to guess and deep a late round pick. I got Lundy in both of my drafts, but I didn't touch until after the 11th round. Anyone who takes Lundy or any other unproven rookie over kevin Jones or Ahman Green is taking a huge risk. (Using KJ and AG as examples of mediocre backs lately that have huge upsides, but they are at least the starter with 2+ years experience in the NFL)I'm saying that because he's a rookie and no one know how he'll do as a starter in the NFL. Texans RBs Wali Lundy & Vernand Morency both averaged 5.5 yards per carry in the preseason, and both caught 6 passes. Both did less-than-adequate jobs in pass protection & design. The Lundy Train started chugging a couple weeks ago when it became clear that Domanick Davis (knee) and Antowain Smith (age) weren't going to be big factors. Today an inside source tells us Morency is making a late push for the starting job over the rookie Lundy. "He's got more experience in reading zone-blocks, it's just that he got hurt and lost ground," our source said. "He's looking great and his teammates are pulling for him." That 'hurt' he's referring to is damaged foot tissue that held Morency out of mini-camp sessions. We haven't always given this guy a fair shake but the former 3rd-rounder has increasingly inviting upside. We did notice how Kubiak always seemed to ride Morency in training camp, calling him out for "dancing around" and "juking too much" and other remarks about his running. It might be Kubiak borrowing some Parcells-esque prodding for a player he really likes. Bottom line: By now Wali Lundy is on a fantasy team in every single league nationwide. Morency is still occasionally overlooked. Or he gets drafted later for better value. If you already drafted, grab him off the free-agent wire if you have room. He might pay off bigger than Lundy.

Just wondering - where did this post come from? I like it. As a Morency owner who chose him over Lundy, I like what I'm hearing so far. This is pretty much what I thought would happen - Morency would eventually be the better play at RB this year. We'll see how this shakes out, but so far, so good.

The guy is so ordinary, he's not ROY material. He'll be serviceable, I don't discredit that. But, all this talk about 1000 yards? Christ. I'll put up $1000 to anyone who seriously thinks he can eclipse 1000 yards. And, when he doesn't, you agree to retire your avatar and FBG id, opting instead for an alias that'll be in the 30,000 range when all is said and done. I am that convinced that he is that ordinary a RB.
