I just heard it too...NEVER thought I'd ever hear that. Alex is going to need some Stuart Smalley. The commentators didn't (directly) comment on it. Just said "...and they're going to get Carr."How long til 'We want Troy?'Classic

6 YEARS OF GARBAGE
6 FRACKING YEARS
You know it's bad when your fan base is clamoring for David Carr.
Carr was all set to take over for Alex Smith, but Smith took the field. Maybe David Carr was sacked on his way out to the huddle.
Dump York.Yeah...watching the game and clearly hearing the "We Want Carr!" chant by the crowd just made me think of how far that proud franchise has fallen. And how people's patience for putting a winner back on the field in the fairly weak NFC West is wearing awfully thin.
2002 was our last playoff game. Just the fact that it's taken management 6 years to figure out that Smith isn't the answer is just as disturbing.Yeah...watching the game and clearly hearing the "We Want Carr!" chant by the crowd just made me think of how far that proud franchise has fallen. And how people's patience for putting a winner back on the field in the fairly weak NFC West is wearing awfully thin.
Had Smith on my team last year and can tell you with absolute confidence that he is one of the greatest garbage-time QBs I have ever seen. Seems that 60% of his TDs come in the 4th qt when his team is behind 10+ points.Smith has looked good in the 2 drives since the chants...
i'd say there was a 98% likelihood of that happening. Is Alex Smith crying?
TRULY...one of the most amazing facts in all of football is that David Carr still draws an NFL paycheck when he obviously cannot accomplish more on a football field than I could myself. Really. No exaggeration. It was obvious that Singletary had no confidence in his ability to throw even a single pass.So why is he the backup? Why not Troy Smith? Troy Smith has thrice the ability of David Carr. Why on earth wouldn't even the likes of Todd Bouman be the backup? This alone is a clear indication that Singletary has nary an idea what he is doing.
As a Gore and Davis owner I say anything...literally anything but the vast offensive wasteland known as David Duke Carr.As a Niners fan, I hope Alex Smith is out for quite some time. Let's face it - he sucks, and wasn't taking the team anywhere. Now I'm hoping Carr will get hurt or the coaches will decide to gamble with Smith/Davis. While these guys will probably suck, we KNOW Smith and Carr suck. Either way, if we're going to fail our way into Luck next year we might as well take some chances. It's not like this team could look any worse. I'm absolutely disgusted how sloppy a Singletary lead team looks.
Nate Davis. Many SF fans are curious to see how he looks on the field. Imo he's shown a consistent 'spark' (albeit in the preseason) and was a pretty good college qb. Has a learning disability and has struggled with picking up the playbook. Then again, Alex Smith is a genius and we've seen how well that's worked. The SF coaches haven't thrown around compliments about Davis but they've largely shown themselves to be incompetent...so it's hard to say whether they're right or wrong about the kid.Davis who?
Even with Gore the Niner offense has stunk the entire year. Replace Smith with a Carr that the Niners are terrified to drive and that can't go farther than 15 yards, and you've got 8 men in the box every play and an over/under of 6 49er points.Let's not go crazy. They still have Frank Gore and the Denver defense still sucks.
Yep. The really shut down the mighty Raiders.Denver D should be a good pick up from the WW for this game in London.
This must be due to the fact you neither watch him nor have you looked at his stats. He's awful. I really wish he weren't.delusional said:I guess im still one of the few that think he isn't a bad qb...great? no but if he had a consistent coaching regime aka same offensive...the guy has been through how many different offenses since he got in the league? and singletary is NOT cut out to be a head coach.
