Weather in New York today...what's the scoop? (1 Viewer)

I think Kurt Warner is a dangerous start today if weather conditions are bad in New York. Last I checked there was something like an 80% chance of heavy rains there today...anyone know what the weather will be like at Giants Stadium?

Not even a drop of rain in Brooklyn, about 30 minutes from the stadium, and by the looks of weather.com this does not appear to be any kind of storm.

Hoping for an offensive explosion in this one. I have Warner, Fitz, TJones and Cotchery all starting in one league. Glad to hear some good weather news.

I'm about 40 minutes from the stadium in NJ, and there is a steady rain going on right now @ 10:17am. There was some thunder rumblings too and I hear on the local news it should be crappy all day. On and off rain

Is it true that rainy conditions with little wind can sometimes be beneficial to the passing game? The WR' s know where to go, but it slows the defenders a bit...

Rain can be bad for passing - heavy, slippery ball - especially for Warner who has trouble with his handle in the best of circumstances.

Warner, Fitz, and TJones in the subscription contest, and Willie Parker (OUT) so the football gods may decide to make it rain. The Jets need a break and need a win.

I saw the Espn report too. No rain, people walking around... So what's the deal.. Homers say its pouring, TV shows it's not!!!

About to go get my morning coffee here in NY.

Its not freakin' raining. Looks like it rained some this morning. Almost no wind.

Just because their was call for some rain and wind for this weekend 6 days ago, doesnt make it so, today.

FWIW, AccuWeather forecasts rain starting at 5 p.m.

Link

Crazy. I'm debating whether to swap Warner for Delhomme.

Edit to add: That's the link off the NFL.com game center

I dont think I have ever seen so many contradictory weather reports in a thread before.
Probably because you've got people all over the tri-state area.Raining here in Queens now. Looked to be raining with Palantonio's pregame discussion.

Need you to clarify "here in NY".Does not mean anything if you are sitting somewhere like Freeport Long Island

I had Mets tickets yesterday and freaked out about the forecasts all week. 90-100% chance of rain. Steady, heavy rain from Friday through Sunday.

There was a light mist around the 5th inning. Nothing at all. Today seems to be more of the same.

If Santana can spin that 3 hitter gem in this? Throwing a football should be no problem.

(Edit to say...I'm starting TJones and Cotchery today....)

Could also be other places no. of the stadium as well.

I live by the stadium and not a drop of rain , hasnt rained in over an hour and its warm out and no wind. Cloudy but thats about it. You dont sit players unless its windy. rain means squat unless its a torrential downpour and thats not expected.. well actually if you have been watching football for years it favors recievers as they know where there going and coverage sometimes ahs a hard time keeping up in slippery conditions.
