Week 02 2023 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Last flex spot in a full PPR:

Jordan Addison(Vs Eagles)
Nico Collins(Vs Colts)
Rashid Shaheed(Vs Panthers)

I’m leaning Addison tonight. I just wish I knew if he was going to play more snaps. I know it’s coming, I just don’t know if it’s tonight.

1/2 ppr, bonus for long TDs (10-39 yards +3, 40 yard on +3 more)

Mostert @ NE
Algeier vs GB

O.K. Here's three:

FPC scoring:

Need ONE of the following:

R.Shaheed @ Car
D.J. Moore @ Tampa

And ONE of the following:

Z. Flowers @ Cinn.
R. Shaheed @ Car
S. LaPorta vs Sea

And an opinion:

A. Mattison @ Phi
K. Williams vs S.F. both tough matchups

Need to pick a QB with bonuses for long TDs and 300 yards passing.

Cousins vs Eagles
Goff vs Seahawks
Watson vs Steelers

Thanks!

Start Cousins or pick up one of Geno/Brock? 4 per passing TD.
I'm a bit shocked Purdy is available. What's a guy gotta do?

As far as tonight and Cousins, it's a brutal roadie without his starting center (Jalen Carter gonna eat?) and I am not sure if Darrisaw is playing tonight either.

If Darrisaw is out I would probably start either Geno or Purdy over Cousins.

If you think last week was an aberration, and week one should be viewed that way then maybe Geno is the better upside option. If you're looking for steady Eddie 250 & 2 then definitely Purdy.

Thanks. I'm looking for steady eddie, I think. It's a keeper draft, and I was able to keep Jefferson/Ridley for peanuts and spent big on McCaffery and Ekeler.

Can start three of: Mike Evans, DJ Moore, Zay Flowers, Raheem Mostert (also Moss, Justice Hill, Kirk but not seriously considering them)

Lots of good options...or at least similar ones.

I think Nico is locked into the most volume. Too bad it's the worst offense of the bunch.

Shaheed is your choice if your league gives credit for KR & PR. If not I think he may be big play dependent.

I guess I can see Addison getting more looks with Slay on JJ and if the game gets out of hand.

Since it's full PPR

Nico>Addison>Shaheed

1/2 ppr, bonus for long TDs (10-39 yards +3, 40 yard on +3 more)

Mostert @ NE
Algeier vs GB
Probably Algeier because he clearly has a defined role in Atlanta. I didn't like how Mostert was used against the Chargers and Achane is practicing.

Allegier>Mostert

More of a who to pick up vs hold. 12 team PPR.

Gus Edwards still on the wire. Would you drop any of the following for the Gus Bus:

* J. McKinnon - a dud last week, but he has Uge games. Hard to predict though.
* Z. Moss - Could be the #1 until J. Taylor arrives (although who knows if he shows up or if he's traded)
* Kyren Williams - Seems to be slowly taking over #1 duties.

THanks
They're all spec plays and/or injury hedges. Feels like a personal preference issue.

I keep Kyren ATM.

I think I like Gus more than McKinnon and Moss but it's close.

I guess I drop McKinnon because it will take a couple injuries for him to see real relevance outside of being a flex play.
Went through all of McKinnon's game logs from last year. He did next to nothing for most of the year. At the very end of the year he had a two or three game stretch where he was super hot. That's really it.

Combine the above with the presence of CEL and Pacheco I don't know when I'd ever start him. Dart throw.

Gus could be the lead guy in a committee week to week and has a decent chance at a TD as well. Hoping to grab him for McKinnon.

I'll start.

Full PPR with WR/TE as a combined position.

Need 1 WR & 1 Flex (RB, WR, TE)
Jahan Dotson @ Den
Zay Flowers @ Cin
Courtland Sutton v Wash
Darren Waller @ Ari
AJ Dillon @ ATL
D'Andre Swift v Min
Jaylen Warren v Cle

ATM I have it narrowed down to Flowers, Sutton & Waller for the WR & Flex spots.

What makes you shy off of Dotson? Meyers-esque matchup with Denver. I'm struggling to decide between Addison and Dotson this week. Leaning Addison in 0.5 ppr against a banged up Eagles secondary but it's also prime time Cousins on the road.

Need ONE of the following:

R.Shaheed @ Car
D.J. Moore @ Tampa
Tough call. I view last week as a bit of an outlier for both. I think it's too early to give up on Moore and also too early to plant a flag with Shaheed.

DJ>Shaheed
And ONE of the following:

Z. Flowers @ Cinn.
R. Shaheed @ Car
S. LaPorta vs Sea
I think LaPorta looks like a safety valve for Goff and I know people view this game as a potential track meet but this isn't last year's Lions defense. Considering the Seahawks are down at least one starting tackle and maybe two, I see Detroit playing the same balanced ball distribution offense they used against KC. I see a similar game for LaPorta he had last week.

I know we can't read too much into one week but what Flowers did last confirmed literally everything that had been coming out of Baltimore since OTAs started. He is insanely difficult to cover. He earned the nickname Joystick.

Flowers>LaPorta for steady production
Flowers>Shaheed to shoot for the upside
And an opinion:

A. Mattison @ Phi
K. Williams vs S.F. both tough matchups
Probably Mattison because I think he doesn't come off the field if the Vikings are playing from behind.

Mattison>Kyren

Standard Scoring

Have Kelce, Hock, and Kmet at TE

With Kelce Questionable do I start Hock tonight or start Kelce and fall back to Kmet if Kelce is out?

Need to pick a QB with bonuses for long TDs and 300 yards passing.

Cousins vs Eagles
Goff vs Seahawks
Watson vs Steelers

Thanks!
I think none of these are particularly likely to hit 300 yards, particularly if Darrisaw is out for Minnesota.

Goff seems like the safest bet for 250 & 2 and his home/road splits last year were stunning (he was worlds better at home). It's not a difficult matchup and, maybe Seattle can keep in interesting (less confident of they are down both starting tackles) enough for Detroit to keep the pressure on.

Watson probably represents the biggest upside but I have learned to never discount a Mike Tomlin coached team.

It's close but

Goff>Watson>Cousins

Superflex league, 4 pt per TD pass, pt per 25 yards passing.

Geno at DET or Purdy at LAR?
Purdy solid upside and almost zero downside.

Geno may be playing without both starting tackles and we all wonder if he's going to turn back into a pumpkin.

Purdy is a great option until we know more about the Seahawks offense.

Purdy>Geno

Can start three of: Mike Evans, DJ Moore, Zay Flowers, Raheem Mostert (also Moss, Justice Hill, Kirk but not seriously considering them)
I bench Mostert without question. That offense runs through the passing game and last week demonstrated that. Also Achane is practicing in full.

Everyone else>>Mostert

Standard scoring, Tyler Locket vs Detroit or Jordan Addison vs. Philly.
Hmmmmmm... Tough call. Both offenses on the road both down at least one offensive lineman and possibly two...

Real coin flip this one. I probably lean

Lockett>Addison

Detroit has a good defense, IMO, but not Phili good.

1 PPR
Pick 2 of
Moss, k Herbert, Bourne, JuJu, Rice, Penny, Sutton
Oh man, no real clue. Unless we hear for a fact that Penny is starting I don't consider him. Too much uncertainty in that backfield.

I like Sutton but Jeudy is practicing in full and I was surprised by how little usage he got last week.

Pass on JuJu

Don't have a clue about Rice.

Is Bourne primed for that massive seventh season WR breakout that we always read so much about that it has to be a real thing, right? Right?

Moss isn't exciting but after the egg D.Jackson laid last week he should be in line for a starters share of RB work against a lesser opponent.

Khalil is still interesting to me. Slow start for the Bears but he still led the team in touches and was used extensively in the passing game (5 targets, 3 receptions for 37 yards). Roschon didn't see his first look until halfway through the third. I think this is still Khalil's backfield.

Moss>Khalil>Sutton...???

Standard Scoring League and I need to pick 2 RBs to start.

Mostert
Swift
Herbert
Kyren Williams
I still think Herbert is the guy in Chicago. He saw 14 opportunities and Roschon didn't see his first look until mid 3rd quarter of a blowout.

I don't like Mostert because Achane is back and the offense runs first, last & always through Tua.

Kyren got the volume and the Rams seem to favor him but what a terrible matchup. Are the Rams RBs a factor in the passing game? Two total targets last week.

That brings us to Swift (SWIFT!!!)* I hate recommending him but...do you have an option with more upside? As to downside, what is Mostert, Williams and Herbert's downside? Maybe better but it ain't pretty. Unless we hear the Penny (or Scott) is named the starter I think I am rolling with the guy on the best offense with the best matchup. That's Swift.

Swift>Herbert>Kyren>Mostert

*That's never going to get old for me. Ever. Accept it and move on.

Eagles D home opener vs Vikes or Donkeys at home vs Was?
Eagles, they're just better. Minnesota is down their center and possibly LT. Defenses are all about potential big plays and the Eagles offense can put pressure on opposing teams.

Yeah

Eagles>Broncos

Standard Scoring

Have Kelce, Hock, and Kmet at TE

With Kelce Questionable do I start Hock tonight or start Kelce and fall back to Kmet if Kelce is out?
It's risky but I think I always leave the door open for Kelce. Kmet isn't a bad fall back position.

Standard scoring + PPR

Schultz, Kincaid, Musgrave @ TE?
M. Sanders, B. Robinson or Mostert to pair w/ Rhomandre @ RB?

THANK YOU

Schultz vs Indy
Musgrave vs ATL
Kincaid vs LV

Sanders vs NO
Robinson vs DEN
Mostert vs NE

Coin flip amongst the rookie TEs; Kincaid is the chalk pick but I'd give a slight edge to Musgrave with Jones & Watson out

Sanders wasn't very efficient and Chuba has a good chunk of the timeshare, but I don't think there's any reason to go away from him given the ceiling for your other two options

edit - looks like Aaron Jones might play but same answer

PPR.
I need 2 RBs + 2 Flex plays amongst these guys:

J. Gibbs vs SEA
D. Montgomery vs SEA
Kenneth Walker @ DET
Zay Flowers @ CIN
DJ Moore @ TB
Garrett Wilson @ DAL

I can't believe I'm already leaning towards sitting Garrett Wilson, but that Dallas D plus Zach Wilson is a scary combo

Yeah, I think you have to sit Wilson until we see how things shake out with Zack.

You also need to sit one of the Detroit RBs. I guess sit Monty because it's PPR, though it would also be fair to wait on Gibbs until his promised expanded role actually comes to fruition

PPR league. Puka or Dotson

Non-PPR: Brian Robinson or Kyren Williams

I'd go Dotson and Robinson. I just want to avoid going up against that 9ers defense.
Ha, it hadn't even occurred to me they were both choices between Wash/LAR players. I agree that's probably a safer match-up to bet on. Hopefully the Puka/Dotson one won't even come into play if Aaron Jones is healthy, since then I could just start Javonte as my flex

Puka popped up on the injury report (oblique) yesterday & McVay said “he’ll be LP today but we expect he’ll play.”

Prob go with both Commanders but wouldn’t feel great about it.

Full ppr, need two

Literally every Den rb v Was
J McKinnon @ jax
Allgeier v GB
J Warren v Cle
Shaheed @ Car

Debating Deshaun Watson vs. Daniel Jones.

Normally I would start Watson until Jones demonstrates that last week was a fluke, but NYG is playing Arizona. Watson is playing Pittsburgh and he didn't exactly light it up last week either.

I would say if you need the upside, I would go with Jones. He can get you 200 yards passing, 80 yards rushing and 3 total TDs easier than Watson.
If you're a solid favorite and want to protect the points, Watson probably has a higher floor.

So for me, Jones if you're likely a dog, Watson if you're likely a favorite.

Definitely Javonte. Second spot is between Shaheed and Allgeier; probably depends on whether you're shopping for a floor or a ceiling. I kind of believe in Shaheed, so I think I'd go with him, but it's close either way

Trust me, I don't feel great about any of this stuff. Both of the aforementioned teams put up absolute stinkers last week, and it doesn't look like my rosters will suddenly start getting better anytime soon

Non-PPR: Brian Robinson or Kyren Williams
Just realized Zack Moss was still available in the non-PPR league and snatched him up. Should I start him over BRob?

if you were across the table from me rn I’d gently slap you
Yeah, about two seconds after I posted that I realized it was a dumb question. I think I'm just bummed out that I drafted Robinson when I could have had Javonte. It's not even that JW looked good last week, it's that I was locking myself into a guy with no upside. But at least he does appear to have the starting job

While I would go Robinson over Moss, I could see Robinson being pretty uninspiring this week.

A 17-10 Broncos win seems like a reasonably likely outcome. I hope not. I hope Sammy and the fellas light it up, but a stinker is certainly in play.

Moss will likely get a similar workload as Robinson on a team that will likely score more points.
Moss also went for 114/1 last time he faced the Texans.

I'd start Robinson, but I don't think it's worth a gentle slapping for starting Moss either.

Which D?

* NYG @ AZ - NYG can't be that lousy. They do have to travel west.

or

* CLE @PIT - CLE shut down Cinci although weather could have played a part. PIT...on MOnday night...is borderline unbeatable. Wouldn't be surprised if they rebound, but they are missing D. Johnson.

Which?

Thanks

Which 2 would you pick between Roschon, Pickens & JSN?

And Nacua or Dotson? If Howell played in week 1 like in the pre-season, this would likely be Dotson easily even after Nacua's first game but...

.5 point PPR. Need 4 of the following 6–but at least one needs to be a WR or TE. Only other potential pertinent info is that I will be starting two Detroit players in Goff and St. Brown.

Mark Andrews
Rhomondre Stevenson
David Montgomery
Joshua Kelly
Tyler Algier
Terry McLauren.
