Have at it.
Brandon Moore is no fluke. He was productive as an injury fill-in at ILB last season. His development has been hindered by both injury and frequent positional changes over the past couple of seasons. The long term risk is that the Niners will push him back outside opposite Manny Lawson in a 3-4 alignment. But for this season, he's an excellent play. Seattle isn't the greatest matchups but Moore is proving he's the mostly likely Niner to be around the ball and hardly anybody else on the roster is playing an every down role at this point.Hali struggled against some tough matchups then injured his hip early in the game two weeks ago. He was able to play this past week but has been quoted as saying he was extremely frustrated that he couldn't leverage himself, explode off the ball, or change directions due to his injury. It's a shame because this week's matchup is the best in the league. He'll be a risky play unless he's able to get through a full week of practice without a set back. Two quick ones:1. In just two weeks as a starter, Brandon Moore has 14 solo tackles, 3 sacks and 4 QB hurries. He's obviously getting to the ball and at the QB. Is it possible he has another big week vs. Seattle? Or is he a flash in the pan.2. Tamba Hali has been quiet the past few weeks. Is he still a good bet for a sack or two vs. a pourous Oakland oline?
I say Moore keeps it up - I had him at the end of last season and he was consistent. Now that he's back in the middle, stick with him.Hali's been overachieving IMO. He's got a good long-term outlook, but I'd consider selling high considering the hype he's been getting. I wouldn't be surprised to see him cool off for the rest of the season. Two quick ones:1. Hard to ignore Brandon Moore over the past couple of weeks. I think Pierce and Smith will be fine down the stretch but wouldn't argue bringing Moore in for some added big play value. I think Phillips tackle numbers are too inconsistent in that scoring system; he may be worth a longer look after Merriman returns in a couple of weeks though. All good players. No wrong answer. As usual, I'd play the matchups wherever possible if practical.1.5tack, .75assist, 5int, 4sack, 3ff, 2fr, 1passdefendDrop, G. Hayes, D. Ryans, A. Pierce or Daryl Smith (all 4 had great games this past week)for: Moore or Shaun Phillips?
HayesRyansBartonPhillipsRuud is a consideration if Quarles is out, but probably sits in favor of the these four anyhow. Saints Lions and Cardinals are easier match-ups. Thanks!
I'd start Ruud if Quarles isn't playing, in fact pretty much any solid TB defensive player is wotrth it with Portis hurt & a new QB. I expect a diet of runs and safe throws, but with some rookie mistakes to help the DB's score. I'd go Sims/Ryans/Hayes and Barton or Ruud.I'm not a fan of Phillips for this week.Looking for the most upside as I am out of the playoffs - start 4 LB, 16 team dynasty1 pt tackle, .05 assist, sacks 3, pd 1, int 4, FR 2 ptsBarton vs BearsA Brooks @ SaintsHayes vs LionsS Phillips @ BroncosRuud vs RedskinsRyans vs BillsSims @ Cardinalswith most points being gathered on big plays is it worth starting Phillips who seems to get most of his points from big plays even though he has a very tough matchup with Denver? With Shaun Williams' continued struggles and Atogwe's inconsistencies, I think Roy Williams is a tough sit. He may benefit from the injury to Greg Ellis, who was holding up very well in run support on the strong side, and find himself a little closer to the LOS. I think you try to play the matchups here, but all three of those guys have been inconsistent regardless of matchups.I don't think it's Kennedy as much as the rotation to which Sims has apparently been relegated (I haven't seen a Lion game to confirm this though) and probably some "rookie wall" decline as well. I think Barton and Smith are both better options than Sims. Normally, I'd go with the above average 4-3 MLB over the above average 3-4 ILB, but Barton has been awful good at times this year. I'd probably give the slight edge to Smith (who will be helped when Stroud gets back at some point) over Barton, but it's really close.Mr. Know-It-All said:I just got Roy Williams and a waiverforTerrance Kiel and Michael Boulware(I didn'trip the guy off because the rest of the trade involved me giving up Tiki Barber and Lee Evans for Ahman Green and Plaxico Burress). So the question is this -my starters are Bob Sanders when healthyand either Shaun Williams or Oshiomogho Atogwe (or both when Sanders doesn't play)Does Roy Williams become an automatic start or should I be concerned about his duds in two of the last three weeks? His schedule looks promising.Second part of the question -I start 3 LBs, and currently have Witherspoon, Ryans and SimsThat last waiver can be used to pickup a LB (I am tired of Sims turning in 1 solo and 7 assists - we get no points for assists). So I am looking at Daryl Smith, Scott Fujita, Eric Barton and Thomas Davis as the best available LBs according to Lineup Dominator. However, only Barton and Smith seem to be "safe" pickups. Scoring is 1 pt per UT, 2 pts per Sack/Safety/INT, and 6 pts per TD.Ever since Kennedy has returned, Sims numbers have dropped. Do you think it is worth taking a stab at Daryl Smith to fill my flex position?

Part 1: Start Roy every week unless he's playing a team lower than 25th in rushing.Part 2: Assuming this is a redraft, I'd pick up Daryl Smith. I prefer Thomas to Phillips this week.Is Adalius Thomas playing this week? He hasn't practiced and BLT already confirmed that Ray Ray was out but no mention of AT. I like his start vs ATL. I guess if he's a no go should I play S. Phillips vs Denver? Looks like he's back to healthy.
I don't think you bench either Tatupu or Fletcher. I want to say bench Moore, but he's been playing well. So with the note that the Steelers haven't given up many points to LB's this year, which I find odd, I'd bench Davis. Perhaps the Steelers rank is due to a lack of games against a 3-4 alignment so far. That would mean they see more DL than LB, and the DL might score more.Pick 3 LB from these four for this week #11London Fletcher BUF (at HOU)Lofa Tatupu SEA (at SF)Andra Davis CLE (vs PIT) Brandon Moore SF (vs SEA)
10x tackle per sack is a huge premium on big plays. Anybody that has a hair's breadth of a chance at a sack is a must start. I'd start Taylor, Peppers, Schobel, Grant, Phillips, and Moore. All have reasonable matchups (Phillips is a little questionable) and all have multi-sack potential. The other backers are interesting but not compelling enough from an upside perspective to start over Phillips.I need help with who to start on defense again this week. We get 1 pt. per tackle, 5 pts. per FF, and 10 pts. per INT/SACK/FR/TD. I can start any of the six following:Jason Taylor vs. MINJulius Peppers vs. STLAaron Schobel vs. HOUCharles Grant vs. CINWill Witherspoon vs. CARShaun Philips vs. DENBrandon Moore vs. SEAAndre Davis vs. PITDaryl Smith vs. NYGTedy Bruschi vs. GBTaylor, Peppers, and Schobel are must starts. After them I feel that I shoul go with Philips, Witherspoon, and Davis. Please let me know how you feel. Thanks.Brad
Assuming Zealots scoring is fairly standard...LB: Fletcher, Scott, Thomas. Barnett and Dansby are interesting, but Scott is going to see the bulk of time in the middle IMO despite Jarret Johnson starting there. And Thomas is probably going to draw the bulk of the Alge assignment. Either could be designated a spy on Vick fairly often too. I don't know which of the two I'd sit and both have big potential either way so I'd play them both over the two other inconsistent options.DB: I agree. Rhodes and Wilson are every week starters. Kiel and Boulware won't play every down. I'd rather have Earl than Smoot. The wildcard here is Reed. I'm of the mind that you start him every week if you have him; his big games are completely random and that's why he's rostered. He's a perfect 3rd DB when you already have two top 5 potential options. Hard to play three Ravens and expect big games from all, but I don't see the Ravens defense holding the Falcons to 40 snaps this week and those three (with Landry and Johnson getting some play) are likely to get the bulk of the boxscore love with the Vick/Dunn/Crumpler matchup.Zealots scoring. Somwhow I'm in the playoff hunt with 3 to go & would like to get some opinions, as my margin of error is slim.LB (pick 3):Barnett vs NEDansby vs DETT Davis vs RAMSFletcher vs HOUEJ vs MIAScott vs ATLThomas vs ATLFletcher's a no-brainer, and I was thinking Barnett (vs NE) & Thomas (w/Ray out & vs Vick) were the plays too. But after looking at FBGs rankings, I'm having doubts (esp w/Dansby).DB (pick 3):Smoot vs MIABoulware vs 49ersEarl vs BUFFKiel vs DENReed vs ATLRhodes vs CHIA Wilson vs DETWilson's always in & I'm thinking Rhodes & Earl. Reed hasn't done a helluva lot, Kiel & Boulware have had problems staying on the field & haven't done much anyway. Smoot could be a darkhorse, I guess.....
Hadn't paid much attention to the injury reports mid-week. Thomas missed 11-on-11 drills all week but there's little information (outside of Lewis' surgery) on the Ravens' injured players that I can find among the local sources. Wonder if it's a situation where with Lewis out already they're not willing to risk an aggravation in practice for an established vet. It's an early Sunday game so we should have the inactive list in time to make moves. Hopefully we'll get a quick blurb tomorrow. Otherwise, Phillips is a solid play even without the best of matchups. Is Adalius Thomas playing this week? He hasn't practiced and BLT already confirmed that Ray Ray was out but no mention of AT. Scoring system is important here. Moore if sacks are valued highly, Davis if not. All four are good plays.Pick 3 LB from these four for this week #11London Fletcher BUF (at HOU)Lofa Tatupu SEA (at SF)Andra Davis CLE (vs PIT) Brandon Moore SF (vs SEA)
You want tackle monsters with big plays that devalued. Rules out Moore. The other 5 guys are pretty close, with Wilson/Hayes being a notch below the other 2, but Wilson has 2 versus the Chargers left, so I'd put him in the mix. I'd say whichever of the 5 comes cheapest, but prefer it not be Hayes. Briggs might be cheapest, as he's not Urlacher.Which LB should I target in a trade for the rest of the year?Kirk MorrisonDeMeco RyansLance BriggsAl WilsonGerald HayesBrandon Moore1 pt. per solo tackle2 pts. per sack2 pts. per INT

Tackle heavy system. Morrison, Ryans, Briggs, Hayes best tacklers. Ryans and Hayes most frequently blitzed. Ryans most consistent. Agree with the above. Can't argue with Johnson over Marshall, but won't be surprised if Marshall outscores him this week. Unless the ankle is still an issue, last week has to be a fluke. The rest of that defense aren't anything especially consistent in the tackle column.Okay…getting there…team seems to be picking it up a bit…now for the home stretch. Don't start Davis over Bethea -- SS should be busy against a couple of decent receiving backs, solid TE, and an offense that likes to throw deep to its WR.I'd start Edwards, Urlacher, Davis, and Smith. June is interesting, but I think Smith is hitting his stride and will get a boost in protection if both starting DTs return tomorrow as expected.WDIS this weekend -- tough to figure out who NOT to start, so I guess that's a good thing!
