Selvin Young - Injured groin
Selvin Young (groin) will be inactive today in the game against Atlanta, according to Lindsay Soto of the NFL Newtwork.
Our View: This was expected, as Young has been gimpy for a few weeks. Fullback Peyton Hillis will handle the brunt of the rushing workload with assistance from P.J. Pope and possibly Tatum Bell.
PJ Pope - Injured Ribs
P.J. Pope had X-rays on his sore ribs after Sunday's game, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The results aren't known.
Our View: It was surprising that Pope received just four carries despite gaining 35 yards on those toes, but perhaps now we know why that's the case. We'll let you know what the X-rays looks like.
Peyton Hillis - Injured Shoulder
Peyton Hillis underwent an X-ray on his right shoulder after Sunday's game, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The results weren't known, but Hillis, who had the shoulder covered with ice, didn't sound concerned. "Nothing, just routine," Hillis said. "... Just want to ice it down."
Our View: The Broncos certainly can't afford any more injuries to their running backs. Hillis looked good today against the Falcons, so hopefully he will be OK.
Tatum Bell - Healthy?
Bell was given just one carry in the first half against Atlanta but received six in the second half and finished with 34 yards on the game.
Recommendation: Meanwhile, Peyton Hillis had 10 carries and P.J. Pope had four, and all were effective when they had the ball in their hands. Though Bell has the most upside of the three, and while it was nice to see him able to produce with under a week of preparation, there's still too much uncertainty regarding how the carries will be split going forward to think you'll be able to count on Bell as a fantasy starter, at least for the next few weeks. The situation will only get cloudier once Selvin Young (groin) returns.
