Week 13 Injury Thread (1 Viewer)

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson came out of Sunday's night game against Oakland with a rib injury, but returned for the start of the second half. The extent of the injury wasn't immediately known. Tomlinson jogged to the locker room, accompanied by a team doctor, with 22 seconds left before halftime. A few seconds later, his backup, Michael Turner, scored on a 2-yard run to give San Diego a 17-10 lead. Tomlinson apparently was hurt on a 3-yard run late in the second quarter. He came off the field, took off his helmet and began speaking with the team's medical staff. Tomlinson carried on San Diego's first two plays from scrimmage in the third quarter.

We had four guys get injured today, I will just tell you about that before we go anywhere else. Nate Wayne has an ankle (injury), Boss (Bailey) with an ankle (injury), Jon McGraw with a shoulder (injury) and Shaun Rogers with a shoulder (injury). Shaun Rogers is probably the least of those; the rest we probably won’t know a whole lot about until tomorrow. I know that they said something about MRI’s and so we will have a lot more information (tomorrow). That was the injury thing.”

Favre's wrist was heavily wrapped at the post-game interview - looked like a cast. From Packer News: Favre "left the stadium with his right arm wrapped in tape after he cut his hand and bruised his forearm on the helmet of Bears defensive end Alex Brown in the third quarter. He took a shot to the ribs, developed a blister on his left foot, got kicked in the right shin and smacked his head against the turf."

The Tank Johnson hit in the first half was brutal. Of course, we all expect the old man to start on Sunday night, but he is hurting today.

Redskin injuries, none sounding major:

LaVar Arrington left the game in the second quarter with a quadriceps injury. He was listed as questionable and did not return until midway through the third quarter.

In addition to Arrington, the team announced Portis suffered a bruised shin, and defensive backs Ryan Clark and Ade Jimoh had sprained ankles. . . .

westy gone to locker room. any idea to severity?
Westy got hurt in first quarter. Came back in and looked fine. I don't think he even played a down in the second half, so it is odd to see him going off now.Maybe, Reid decided to yank him and not risk further injury, and his ankle is hurting or stiffening, and he is going in for treatment.

Any updates would be appreciated.

My thoughts exactly. It's tough to be a fantasy player with him (two leagues I'm in have him as a key player tonight) but we're talking an NFL franchise here. I think Westbrook is fine but there is no reason to take chances down 42-0. By the way...GO SEAHAWKS!

Here is an update on Westbrook. How long would a sprained foot keep him out?PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook was knocked out of Philadelphia's game against Seattle on Monday night with a sprained foot. The team didn't immediately say which foot Westbrook hurt. Westbrook did not return for the second half, finishing with 17 yards on nine carries, and five catches for 38 yards in the first half. He came into the game with a team-leading 600 yards rushing and three touchdowns, and had 56 catches for 578 yards and four touchdowns. The reigning NFC champion Eagles were already without four players who went to the Pro Bowl last season: quarterback Donovan McNabb, wide receiver Terrell Owens, cornerback Lito Sheppard and left tackle Tra Thomas.

Rookie wide receiver Braylon Edwards will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury, yet another setback for one of Cleveland's first-round draft picks. Edwards, the No. 3 overall selection in the draft, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while trying to make a leaping catch in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Edwards' knee buckled awkwardly to the inside after he landed stiff-legged on the incompletion. (just clarifying talk previously)

Any word on Coakley?
dislocated ankle
Rams linebacker Dexter Coakley will undergo surgery on his broken leg in the next couple of days. Coakley also suffered a dislocated ankle in the first quarter of the team's 24-9 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday."He's going to have to get a plate put in his leg and then, after three months, it comes out," Vitt said. "It has to be done fairly quickly, sooner rather than later."

Vitt said he talked with Coakley on Sunday night. The injury is so serious that it not only ended Coakley's season, but it also threatens to end his career.

"We're sure going to miss his leadership, a character man," Vitt said. "The only thing I told him was that I would do anything possible to make sure that wasn't his last snap yesterday. Hopefully we'll be together somewhere."
