Week 15 Defenses (1 Viewer)

Anyone worried the Cowboys might mail it in? Playing Indy and PHI is kinda their Super Bowl in a lost year. Playing WAS and ARI - nothing really to prove at this point.
I'm sticking with the Cowboys.Playing Vick is hardly a normal game, I consider it an outlier and actually the Cowboys hardly mailed it in vs Philly, they were more than competitive.
Not saying they mailed it in vs. Philly. Saying the opposite, they played hard against Philly because it was primetime vs. a good team. I don't see as much reason for them to play hard against non-playoff teams.Cowboys started playing well after the coaching change, but that good mojo has an expiration date.

I would be more comfortable playing the Bucs (still fighting) or Pats (steamrolling everyone).

Another option I like this week is the Raiders. Denver has no bite left in them.

Problem with Miami is that Henne constantly gives other teams good field position.

I am thinking the choice is between Arizona and Carolina. Will Carolina run all over ARZ, limiting to and TD opportunities? Or will Zona get a lead like Atlanta did and force Clausen to suck it up the whole second half?

I have been trying to figure this out for a week. But Skelton was ok, controlled turnover-less vs Denver and the running game looked good. Fact is that the Zona defense has shown up at times this year.Carolina is a team that can get on real downward slide and Clausen becomes overwhelmed. Moreno ran all over ARI last week and it didn't do Denver any good.Hexk the Cards might think they can still win their division.... And they can.Not so with Carolina. I'm probably sticking with Dallas but I'm holding the Cards and have changed my mind since last week that they are the better play over the Panthers.

I'm sweating my top-tier defense playing against the Patriots. I think I'll be pulling the trigger on Arizona as a week 15 replacement for the Packers.

How about the Falcons? They have a road game, but the Hawks should be good for a few turnovers. Peaking ahead to week 16 - a matchup with the Saints isn't so favorable....so maybe some value only for week 15.

Ive had Chicago most of the season and with Favre out i was thinking they were solid, but as dominant as the Pats have been and with Rodgers possibly out, i finally dropped Addai for the Pats D and now i have a GTD to make.

Hypothetically, if both Favre and Rodgers are out and the weather is similar in both locations, i have NO IDEA who ill play.

:kicksrock:

:moneybag: Debating the same move myself. What is the upside of AZ Def @ Carolina?
Ditto -- replacing the Pack with either AZ, CAR, or MIA. I actually like MIA out of all three -- at home against a division rival, and then at home again against the Lions the next week.

are people still plannng to use TB vs DET this week? when the thread was originally posted a lot of us were thinking of using them. Since then, they've lost 6 starting defensive players and the match vs det doesn't seem so great now, especially after det beat packers. In last 3 games Det has not given up more than 2 sacks per game, and only 4 int in last 3 games, and zero fumbiles, also no TDs.

Thinking of going with SD vs SF, or Car vs Ari or maybe Mia vs Buf. Thoughts?

Good to know I'm not the only one sweating out a Defense pick this week.

Philly has been pretty solid all year for me, but the loss of Bradley has me very worried against NYG.

Picking between CLE or the better side of the AZ/CAR debacle... Browns have been hot as of late and Palmer is fading fast, could be ripe for multiple INTs.

Nothing I've read thus far is swaying me either way between the Cards and Panthers.

I am considering just rolling with the Gmen, yes they play Philly but after Dallas was able to get to Vick the way they did I would imagine a few sacks and at least 1 turnover. They got 9 points the last time they played the Eagles. Also Dodds has the Vikings ranked up there pretty high this week. The Bears and cutler have been turnover prone. No one is talking much about the Vikings though. Maybe it is because on offense Tjax stinks and ADP is hurt, and they were destroyed by the Giants last Monday night. This might be their redemption game though.

My gut tells me Oakland. I have Dallas, but that Denver game @ Oakland looks decent. Denver has mailed it in, but will Oakland now after that loss to Jacksonville??

I was going to make a move for Dallas then I see the early rankings and my current defense (NYJ) has a better ranking vs the Steelers than Dallas does vs Wash. Hopefully nobody will grab Dallas before I sort this mess out.

lots of ifs this week, but out of the "non-if" catagory, I think the Panthers are the play. AZ coming east to play outside and it looks like rain and chilly temps.

Would anyone feel stronger about Dallas if Rex Grossman is QB'ing for the Skins?

debating between

Dallas D vs Wash

mia D vs Buf

NE D vs GB

don't feel good about rolling the dice on Carolina or Arizona. Both are bad teams and anything can happen.

I will be all over Dallas if Washington starts Grossman. I feel the same as you do about both the Carolina and Arizona defenses. Don't like the field position that both of their offenses may put the defenses in.

Weather update FWIW

Green Bay @ New England Sun Dec 19

Advanced forecast:

Rain and snow possible 39 degrees

Chicago @ Minnesota Mon Dec 20

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings are getting ready for a frigid night of football after officials said Tuesday that the Metrodome's torn roof won't be ready for Monday night's matchup against the Chicago Bears, forcing the game to move to the University of Minnesota's outdoor TCF Bank Stadium.

Advanced forecast:

Partly Cloudy 16 degrees

does a wet sloppy game in NE benefit either DEF historically? Any actual stats would be appreciated.

What about a cold as ice game in Minnesota?

Was Miami that good against the Jets? Or is the Jets O just that bad? Also can use the Bucs D if I need to
I'm in the same boat.I'm leaning towards Miami only because over the last 6 games they have been averaging 3 sacks, .83 ints and 1.1 forced fumbles and only 15.8 ppg. They have Buffalo and Detroit over the next two weeks at home.Tampa Bay on the other hand, over their last 6 games is averaging 2.3 sacks, 0.6 ints, 0.3 forced fumbles and 17.3 ppg. They have Detroit and Seattle at home over then next two weeks.Add in all the starters on defense now on IR and I have to go with Miami.

I heard about Grossman this morning and now I feel the Cowboys D is a lock. Otherwise, I'd have to roll with the Chargers D, so I'm liking the prospects of Grossman starting very much. It's like taking Jay Cutler and making him 10x worse.

Dropped the Giants and picked up the Cowboys. They have good matchups wk 15 & 16 and it should even be better if Washington does start Grossman. I think Vick and the Eagles tear up the Giants. I had Giants last week and if it wasn't for them holding Minny to 3 pts they would have only scored 6 pts.

The play here is Dallas and who I'm rolling with this week over SD.

Don't ever let your loyalty interfer with your fantasy football. Go Redskins but if you happen to lose and get destroyed then I'll forgive ya. Higher draft pick is a good thing

So, you think Grossman gets the nod?

I have NE and Dallas

If Rodgers is out I'm starting NE. IF he's in I"m starting Dallas

If Grossman is the QB I'm starting Dallas, If Mcnabb is the QB i'm going with NE.

If both Mcnabb and Rodgers is out i'm starting NE.

No and honestly I don't think this comes down to who is under center. The Cowboys get a revenge game this week after we started the slide they went on this year. McNabb's thrown more then enough INT's this year to be a likely candidate for 1-2 INT's and against the Colts the Cowboys returned two of those for TD's. The skins offense is likely to come out flat with the news about McNabb, If Rex is in there then thats even more for the Boys to look forward to. I like the Cowboys this week and next week.

Easy choice to stick with the CAR/AZ game... The only question is which teamI am rolling with AZ
Good luck with that. AZ is 3rd worst against the run. Carolina does run very well with Goodson and Stewart in there. Don't like the choice and think it's a sucker bet personally. The better choice between the two would be Carolina. They are at home playing against a west coast team, they are very good against the pass and AZ has very crappy RB's. Just my opinion but think you should go the other direction if this is the best you got

While I agree with your decision to avoid either team defense in this game, Carolina is not a good rushing defense. Rather, they are actually very good at defending the pass (cornerback play has probably been the brightest spot on the entire team this season) and will force the Cards to rely on Hightower both for rushing yards and a checkdown option for Skelton.I see a back and forth game with fumbling and bumbling by both offense and defense. I guess we can go ahead and call it the Andrew Luck Bowl?
