Not a typo.
I cannot imagine this being a popular strategy, even in 4 pt TD leagues like ours. Consider other positions we stream:
K - generally 12-14 are rostered in a 12 team league, meaning 18-20 are available. Most of us don’t stream; if they can follow the hypocritic oath (“above all else do no harm”) & don’t have a bye, set it & forget it.
DT/DST - very similar to above, except in this instance we perceive we can play matchups & pick the defense going up against an inexperienced or turnover prone QB. Although it works well in certain years, overall the results seem mixed IME.
TE - this one seems a little trickier. Generally there are 16-18 rostered and the dropoff from the top 4/5/6 is usually pretty significant. Last year I streamed for 8 or 9 weeks after multiple injuries & I think I picked “the wrong TE” around 7 or 8 times.
RB/WR - nobody does this, right?
QB - I drafted Wentz so my Plan B is using pickup fill-ins. I bailed on my first choice for Week 1, Nick Foles, in less than 48 hours. Good move but Andy Dalton proved to be barely adequate (QB18); still, my opponent drafted Stafford so NBD so far.
Our league drafted 22 and currently has 22 rostered & 1 on IR (suspended players do not qualify for an IR slot.) My Week 2 choice is Case Keenum, with Dalton back in the discard pile. Other options include Bortles (NE), Fitzmagic (PHI), Foles (@TB), Dak (NYG), Tyrod (@NO), & the hot garbage trifecta of Bradford (@LAR), Darnold (MIA), & Tannehill (@NYJ.) How did I forget Allen/Peterman (LAC)? Maybe not used to seeing QB projections that low.
This can’t be a good idea.
Anyone else stuck in this kind of situation? Prescott is a new consideration now, he was dropped last night. Will have to weigh Keenum’s upsiide v. the Cowboys QB’s floor.
