Week 4 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (8 Viewers)

This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) UPDATE: Please post the matchup. e.g. Penix vs Den or James Cook @ Mia (a lot of you are missing this one. We don't necessarily have all the matchups memorized, please don't make us do your legwork. TIA)

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

5) NEW REQUEST: Please remember that if you come here asking advice, it is greatly appreciated if you offer advice to others. TIA

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

(Joe Edit: When you ask, please let us know which way you're leaning. And more importantly, why. What do you see as the pros and cons. Most people will be much more likely to help if they feel like you've put in a little work on this as well.)

Let's move on to week 4

@Joe Bryant @FBG Moderator
Can we get this pinned please?

I'm happy to start because my teams suck.

Daniel Jones @ LAR
Bo Nix v CIN

I know Jones is an early MVP candidate (can't believe I said that with a straight face) but It's gotta be Bo, right?

Flex spot, Full PPR:
Jameson Williams v CLE
TreVeyon Henderson v CAR
JCM @ ATL

I'm tempted to believe Henderson will see more opportunities this week. He is in my lineup ATM. He won't be full time yet because, I don't believe he has all his protections on lockdown but, with all the fumbling going on with Rhamondre & Gibson they have to give him more opportunities in more obvious running situations and script a few more passes for him, right? And it should be a plus matchup at home too.

PPR lost CeeDee, need a flex

Rashod Bateman @ KC
Dontayvion Wicks @ DAL

I have Bateman in ATM because it's a top 3 offense but Wicks @ Dallas is very tempting.

Nix with confidence, playing well and the Bengals are imploding, Jones has been good to great but tough road matchup so I go Nix

Flex - Tricky, I'd consider JCM strongly until Henderson really shows something, in doing that though you might miss out on his coming out party. Browns are tough on their D line and seriously hard to run or pass on. I guess it's between Henderson and JCM, slight nod to JCM imo but go with your gut.

If anything, go with the opposite to my advice since i'm frequently wrong, at least it would then be useful. I'll probably be doing the same, or flipping a coin this week.

With the Cee Dee Lamb injury, that could lead to him missing up to 3 weeks, I need to fill the ranks.

Both Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are available in my league. I'm leaning towards Allen. Any thoughts? Chargers play the Giants this week.

Thanks!

to me, the thing about Bal is that you never know who to start sometimes. The problem with Wicks is that he hasn't been used much and Golden might be on the rise. So despite the great matchup I think Bateman still might be the right call.

I think they are both great options. What was clear last week is that Keenan is 100% the crunch time option for Herbert. They had three drives in the fourth quarter down 13-20. He targeted QJ once, Ladd zero, Conklin once & Gadsen twice. Keenan saw six targets including a great TD catch. Yes Omarion saw three short targets but those were effectively runs IMO.

QJ has a marginally higher ceiling but, it's big play dependent. Keenan is targeted a bunch and he scores a bunch.

The Chargers should also control this game (I said the same thing last week about the Packers btw) so the need for those big plays may be slightly reduced.

Keenan>QJ

Again, I have the same pair ATM and I currently have Nix in but only because of the matchup disparity. I'd have Jones in if it was closer.

I'd go JCM in the other one but that all feels like a coinflip situation with alot of speculation. JCM has the best floor In my humble opinion

flex 0.5 ppr

DK Metcalf vs Minnesota (early sunday game)
or
Javonte Williams vs Green Bay

Editted to add or Michael Pittman @ Rams
That's three tough matchups. The Steelers feel like a shell of an offense ATM. Five turnovers forced by the defense and they barely win by a TD. They put up 200 yards of offense and lost Time of Possession by almost seven minutes! And that's with five additional possessions!!! Sort of, I know that isn't how it works but, their D got the Pats off the field five times and that was all the offense could produce. One day DK and Rodgers will have a monster game but, it's really feeling like 6 targets 40-60 yards and maybe 0.6 TDs should be the expectation.

Even in a blowout with no CeeDee Lamb Javonte managed 15 touches (5 receptions) for 92 yards. This week will be a much tougher matchup but, I think if Quinshon Judkins can have a good game against that defense then Javonte can as well. Maybe 80 yards give-or-take, 4 receptions with a chance at a TD.

I like Pittman for sure. He probably doesn't have a ton of upside but he can keep up with your other two options IMO.

Honestly not sure who I would opt for on my team. But, when I think about it, it seems like the Rams are most likely to put up points against the Colts and the Colts are playing the best ball of your options. I also like pairing WRs with my QBs.

It's really a coin toss but, for me

Pittman>Javonte>DK

my only worry is that Allen will fall apart this season but Allen has been more steady

I want to say williams but it's hard to suggest him in a Parsons revenge game. He still may get his though. I'd go with Metcalf though

Bo and either Henderson or Jamo. I prefer Jamo.

C.Brown @ Den
T.Benson v Sea
C.Godwin v Phi

I should sit Brown until he shows something, but I hate to miss the inevitable game where all the usage clicks. I should wait on Godwin until he knocks off the rust/proves health. I'd like to wait on Benson to verify his upgraded role.

But somebody has to fill my flex spot this week...

Benson -> Brown -> Godwin for me.

The two RBs are close though. I am still a Chase Brown believer.

0.5 PPR - Pick 1 to SIT (Yes I have an embarrassment of riches in this 14 team dynasty league)

Barkley @ TB
JTaylor @ LAR
JJacobs @ DAL
ARSB vs CLE
Collins vs TN
Njigba @ AZ

I am so miffed this morning… I tried to acquire Caleb Williams on waivers, as a backup QG (if not a new Starting QB), but someone else — who already has Josh Allen(!) — got him. SO....

I can grab:

Geno Smith vs. Chicago
Matthew Stafford vs. Indy

Depending on who I end up taking, would I be wise to start them over Daniel Jones (vs. Rams)? TBH, Smith scares me a little. He throws a lot of interceptions....

Now for WRs.... Non-PPR

Keenan Allen @NYG
Zay Flowes @KC
AJ Brown @TB
Emeka Egbuka vs. Philly

Thanks!

Benson IMO. I think his volume is locked in. I don't know what he does with it but, he's going to touch the ball 15+ times.

I might say Brown but, another tough road game after such an embarrassing loss... IDK do you want to count on pride kicking in? Particularly against a very tough Denver defense coming off two very tough road losses.

Wait a week on Godwin for sure IMO.

Benson>Brown>Godwin

Chose 1 WR for 1/2 PPR.
Deebo
Juedy
M. Golden
J. Jennings
K. Coleman
Matchups please, bruh. Off the top of my head I don't know who or where Deebo or Jennings is playing or if Jeudy is at home or on the road.

I like Deebo here in general. He got three carries and three targets in a blowout win, apparently he will return the occasional kickoff which, is great if your league gives any ST TDs to the player, and McLaurin is hobbling. I consider it a neutral road matchup that the Commanders should probably win.

I can see an argument for Coleman but, it's hard to trust what the Bills will do with their WRs in general and it's tough to know what will happen when the Bills blow out an opponent. When they boat raced the Jets, Coleman saw three targets.

It gets iffy after that. Jeudy is the WR1 in Cle but 7 low quality targets doesn't excite anyone even if the opponent will roll up points on them.

The Cowboys D seems to cure all QB ills but, I'm not sure you want to gamble on something so unknown as the Packers passing game. I go with him for the upside but the downside seems huge, just like Coleman.

Not much interest in the Jennings coming off injury, Purdy coming off injury combo

Deebo>Coleman>Golden

0.5 PPR:

  • Waddle vs. Jets (MNF)
I am leaning Pearsall (Especially if Jennings doesn't go) and Smith but very open to suggestions.
Everyone showed signs of life last week. That makes it tougher to choose one because they may all be decent options.

I think the Bucs kinda make teams play ugly.

I think the Bears have a great matchup but, they had a better matchup at home and DJ only saw 5 targets and 21 yards. He scored which, is nice but it was a better matchup and at home. I also want to see Caleb do what he should against two bad defenses in a row before I will feel that I can rely on that outcome. The Raiders also may show a little pride and actually show up but... we both know that means #### all.

I think Waddle is a fine start. I worry about relying on Tua, whose arm looks weaker than Chad Pennington's trying to hold in a late night Arby's binge. And I also worry that the Jets are getting run on a ton and the Dolphins have a nice stable of RBs, even if McDaniel calls games like he's Don Coryell Jr.

Hard to argue against Pearsall at home with Purdy no Kittle and a limited Jennings.

Pearsall>Waddle>DeVonta>DJ

Barkley @ TB

Njigba @ AZ
I'd probably sit Nico just because the Texans have been so inconsistent. I think they win this week and Nico is seeing a lot of targets over the last two weeks but, the Texans are still difficult to trust.

After that I probably sit Jacobs. ATM it's a pretty easy argument to sit him over Nico but, the matchup is really nice. I lean Jacobs over Nico because the Cowboys can still put up points and, maybe even upset this Packers team. So I go with the player in the game with the higher O/U

Collins<Jacobs

It's kind of a push between Geno and Stafford but, Stafford does seem more reliable. Geno hasn't been a big INT guy but, his OL is getting him killed back there (on pace for 68 sacks ATM) so, for a one week push

Stafford>Geno

Between Stafford & Jones that's a lot closer. I still don't entirely believe in Jones but, the Colts have risen to every challenge so far. This is their toughest challenge so far, on the road against a good defense. But, Jones is throwing well and he brings a running element that Stafford lacks.

It's 100% a coin toss but I think

================================

Man, you may need to roll a four sided die for this one.

I probably bench Egbuka because Godwin is back (I think), it's a tough matchup and he's dinged up.

I think Zay will be just fine but non-PPR knocks him down a bit. He hasn't proven to be a big TD guy yet.

Keenan also takes a hit in non-PPR but, he's been a TD guy this year and he has a great matchup.

I think it comes down to Keenan and AJ. Tough to bench AJ after last week in what should be another competitive game...

Keenan is probably a safer bet and he has nice upside but

AJ>Keenan

Already changed my mind that's how close this is.

Keenan>AJ

Pick 2 ...1 PT PPR:

Tyreek Hill v NYJ
Devonta Smith @ TB
Deebo Samuel @ ATL
I go with Deebo personally. I don't think I can trust the Eagles passing game every week, yet and I definitely don't trust the Miami pass game yet. Tyreek got 10 targets but, the quality of those targets is terrible.

McLaurin is dinged up and he got 3 carries & 3 targets in a blowout win last week. I like his usage potential the most.

Deeob>Devonta>Tyreek

Pick 1 for flex 0.5 PPR:

Pickens vs Packers on Sunday night
Walker at Cardinals on Thursday night
Walker for me. I am pretty well on record as being more down on Pickens than most. When Mike Tomlin jettisons a "high end" WR, I pay attention. He has the talent and, now he has the opportunity so, if you like him go with that. For me, I question his dedication even if the plan is likely to get him a lot more involved. As Mike Tyson says "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

Walker>Pickens

I will probably stick with Jones — although I am starting Kyren Williams and a Stafford-Williams combo could work out. Williams doesn't just run. Caught a TD last week.

As for my Receivers.....

I AM a bit hesitant to start Brown... not sure he will follow-up on last week's "breakout" performance.
Egbuka I just like. He's been reliable. I only wish I had him week 1. I'd be 1-2 and not 0-3. Last I heard, Evans and Godwin might be both out this week. That's something I will have to monitor.
Flowers.... ugh. Maybe he'll rebound this week.

I'll probably go with:

Allen
Flowers
Egbuka

Y'know, I entirely forgot about Evans' status. It makes Egbuka a much more attractive option even if Godwin comes back. If both are out, you should at least expect him to get peppered with targets.

I am great at second-guessing myself, as well.

It troubles me to bench Brown. Regardless of his slow start and Philly's unreliable air attack, I think he still has more upside than Flowers. Both Barkley and Henry have tough running defense matchups this week. So, it's a coin toss!

Woody Marks or Nick Chubb vs. TN.

I don't really need another RB. But I am trying to look at targets of opportunity in my thus far abysmal Fantasy season. The Titans D appears to be a gift to RB's.

Thoughts....? Thanks.

It would represent more of an acquisition.

But I probably shouldn't think about it too much. If I grabbed one of these two, put them on the bench, and they had big days, I'd jump off a cliff. Don't need to play with fire where my Username is concerned 😬 .

Your avatar would do it.

PPR league. 12 teams. Desperate to upgrade at RB even if slightly. Need upside.

Rate this trade offer:

* I GIVE: I. Pacheco & H. Fannin

* I GET: T. Henderson

Note: I have T. McBride at TE and the other manager is desperate for TE help.

Local beat NE writers saying Henderson is getting first reps today at practice.

No brainer to offer?

Thanks
