Week 7 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (2 Viewers)

Footballguy
This is where we ask questions and offer help.

Thank you to all the posters who come here to offer that help.

A couple notes:

I attempt to give well considered responses to all questions posted. I can't get to everything, but I'll try.

1) This only works if people participate. If you ask for help it is good form to offer help to someone else.

2) UPDATE: Please post the matchup. e.g. Penix vs Den or James Cook @ Mia (a lot of you are missing this one. We don't necessarily have all the matchups memorized, please don't make us do your legwork. TIA)

3) Please post important league scoring considerations (e.g. PPR, super-flex etc).

4) Please go easy on the nicknames, save that for other threads. We can't help if we don't know who you are talking about.

5) NEW REQUEST: Please remember that if you come here asking advice, it is greatly appreciated if you offer advice to others. TIA

View this as an exercise to help focus your thoughts about teams in general. Players you own may not be involved in these WDIS questions but certainly you will own players on many of these teams. Analyzing other players will help you identify things you may have otherwise not considered.

(Joe Edit: When you ask, please let us know which way you're leaning. And more importantly, why. What do you see as the pros and cons. Most people will be much more likely to help if they feel like you've put in a little work on this as well.)

Let's move on to week 7

@Joe Bryant @FBG Moderator
Can we get this pinned please?

0.5 PPR.

Flex:
  • Chase Brown vs. Steelers (TNF)
  • McLaurin (May not be healthy so it's a risk if not putting in CB) vs. Cowboys
TE:
  • Fannin vs. Dolphins
  • Henry vs. Titans

Want to get in line on this one due to Thursday night implications.

QB question. Need a Lamar fill in. 4 points per TD pass.

* A. Rodgers @Cinci -- Thursday night game. CINC D obviously terrible, but they're at home and maybe a bit more spunky with Flacco. Rodgers has been terrible throwing it deep, but maybe that changes here.

or

* J. Love @AZ -- Expected a lot more from Love last week. Could see the GB offense doing some nice things here, but there expected pass rate when they get close to the endzone is lousy. All Jacobs all day. AZ D seems middling at best. Brissett at QB possibly an upgrade that forces GB to keep their foot on the pedal.

Which?

Thanks

PPR need to choose from
Chase Brown vs Steelers
Jaylen Warren at Bengals

Leaning Warren but didn't like seeing so much Gainwell last week. I think Kaleb Johnson saw most of his carries at end of game when game was decided. Perine also in a lot for Cincy.

I lean almost any QB vs. Bengals.

Standard scoring, non-ppr

Already starting Chase and Judkins (Doesn't get better for an RB than Miami). Need two from the following:

R.Rice vs Raiders - Must start surely?
R.Dowdle @ Jets - appreciate it's early in the week to know if he has a full go or not, if he does, must start?
C.Hubbard @ Jets - if back, do they go 50/50? One to stay away from?
BTJ vs Rams - signs of life last week at least
T.McMillan @ Jets - finally scored last week but might draw Sauce?
KW3 vs Texans - flex option at best

Tough but I think I go Rodgers, not been impressed with Love when i've watched GB.

I'd go Love @ AZ. Brisset will keep this competitive.
I'm iffy on Thurs skill position players plus this is a divisional game.

Yeah I'm trying to find the logic here for either.

Apparently, Love did throw for 4 TDs against AZ last year.

He laid an egg last week against Cinci. Odd. Would be even odder if Rodgers then did the same thing. Thought that D was terrible.

Funny you mention that it's a division game. Tomlin was quoted as being a bit salty about Flacco being traded in the division to Cinci.

Yeah it's definitely not cut and dried. It's logical to assume GB will run Jacobs down their throat but it would be typical of our hobby for the opposite to happen and Love to look like Dan Fouts instead. Not an easy decision at all.

PPR flex:
Keenan Allen vs Indy: cooled off after hot start. Stable floor of 5-8 targets.
Spears vs NE: should be playing from behind, new regime won't be as beholden to Pollard
Golden @ ARZ: ramping up his routes and has been very close to TD's.

Darnold vs HOU
OR
Stroud @ SEA

Feels close, but leaning towards Stroud. He was unstartable early in the season but is trending upwards. Darnold started hot but HOU's defense is no joke. Only three defenses have allowed less than 100 pts... DEN (97), MIN (95), and HOU (61). Even with the bye, that's only 12PPG allowed.

HOU defense hasn’t had the toughest schedule, sure LAR and TB, but also TEN, JAX, BAL.

I’m in the same boat though so I’ll hang up and listen. I’m also considering:

Purdy (if him and Kittle play) v ATL
Penix @ SF
Dart @ DEN
Darnold v HOU
Stroud @ SEA

EDIT to add onto GG’s post

I agree that their schedule hasn't been tough. But, 61 points is 61 points. Two thirds of the NFL has given up more than twice that. Gave up an average of 17 against the top three teams they've faced, and just 10 total against TEN and BAL. I think it's very likely we're looking at a game where nobody surpasses 20 points. In a game that ends something like 20-17, I'm just trying to figure out which of the two is more likely to throw for a TD or two. I'm leaning ever so slightly towards Stroud, but it's close (and I don't have any other options... this is a dynasty league).

Of course, now that I say that, the game will end something like 38-35.

PPR league. Need one of these three:

* C. Brown vs PIT -- Terrible matchup. Perine being annoying. At some point, Flacco could give him some dump offs.

* T. Higgins vs PIT -- PIT D a bit worse against the pass vs run. May have to air it out a bit more.

* T. McMillan @NYJ -- Tough matchup as Sauce Gardner will shadow. He's still a very tough draw. Ordinarily would say slam dunk here vs. other two options above.

Leaning T. Mac.

Which?

Thanks

D question:

* PIT @CINCI -- PIT D coming around. 20 sacks on the season. Now facing an immobile Flacco.

or

* KC vs LV -- KC not being terribly disruptive, but still a solid D. Geno has been giving the ball away repeatedly and Bowers most likely out (and J. Meyers maybe on the trade block).

Which?

Thanks

If either QB will HAVE to throw? It would be Stroud in my opinion. I think I would, and now am, leaning Stroud in your situation.

Sorry for the hijack.

Hopefully others will chime in on your

Darnold v HOU
or
Stroud @ SEA

start sit.

Daniel Jones @Chargers
CJ Stroud @Seahawks

:ponder:

✋😁

LOL.
Indiana Jones here, easily imo
Alright. I have him starting at the moment. I was thinking Stroud may have found his groove before the bye week... and would be coming back ready to continue.

Thanks.
I agree that Stoud MAY hae found his groove, but SEA D is no joke, and its IN SEA. Tough place to play. I really like the way the Colts are playing, and the matchup isnt bad.

Non-PPR

Pollard vs NE
T Higgins vs Pit (Thursday night)
M Carter vs GB
X Worthy vs LV (already have Rice in lineup)

Need 2 and 1 has to be an RB

Thx

BHall vs Panthers
CBrown vs Steelers
Hunt or Pacheco vs Raiders

Non ppr TD heavy
Who you going with as rb2? I’m the underdog but I’m ahead in our division. Big game! I’ve been starting Hall but I’m not liking the Jets this week.

Desperate times here. I need one from this group of four
12 team 1 ppr league
4 pts for passing td's
Rodgers @ Cinn
Flacco v Pitt
Nix v NYG
Stafford v Jax
TIA

Yes it's a tough matchup
But it is for CJ also
