Weekly Waiver Wire and FAAB Discussion - Week 12 (5 Viewers)

Pissed. As a jacobs owner went all in on Wilson but someone outbid me. Who bids that much for a possible 1 week handcuff?

Got Tuten (also own ETN). Ill probably be starting both assuming Jacobs cant go.
I've thought all along that Wilson was worth rostering even when Jacobs was healthy, but I know roster sizes dictates what you can and can't do, There are only a few other RBs I feel this way about, such as Tyler Allgeier, Brian Robinson, Tank Bigsby, Kenny Gainwell, Bhayshul Tuten, Isaiah Davis, and more recently Sean Tucker. I also wonder if Keaton Mitchell could be a league winner should something happen to Henry. While I get it that you can't roster all of these guys, but if you spent a higher draft pick on a RB you should try and roster their backup. There are others, such as the 1B guys I didn't mention.
I've been debating Bigsby, but wonder if Shipley would also get run if Barkley went down.

I'd add O. Gordon to the list too. He's already getting carries and goal line opportunities. MIA has awakened from the dead a bit and if Achane goes down Ollie would get his.
I think Bigsby has clearly passed Shipley as Barkley's handcuff.

Not so sure about that.

Bigsby was the clear backup when Shipley was out, but more recently the touches have been split I believe. Two different kinds of backs too.

We can just disagree. I'd be interested in hearing other opinions on the subject.

I only put "grab your handcuffs" every week in these threads. Wilson has been the top of my list for 2 months now. He's been on my bench as a non Jacobs owner for that long too.

I also think Bigsby is the handcuff. Imo. Sometimes it's super hard to know. Sometimes you can't box score surf when all rbs are healthy and say Player A got the 2nd most carries he is the hand cuff. When the lead rb is completely out of the picture it changes things drastically. imo

Agreed. I had some bye week issues last week and had to drop him. Just horrible timing. I also have ETN so it was difficult too roster TWO handcuffs let alone one.

Someone that wanted to keep Wilson off your roster. Did you get a trade offer yet?
Trades never happen in my league but I was thinking of offering him one before the deadline.

Christian Watson - With the injury to Jacobs the Packers may have to pass more than they like. Watson had a big game this week. I know, he's probably already rostered.
Was available in a 10 team league (probably because of burning some of the more active owners in the past) so he was my main target this week.

Am I alone in thinking Tucker has way more value than Wilson? For one thing, I don't think Irving is on the verge of coming back. Foot injuries always linger longer than teams tell us they will. ProFootballDoc says he doesn't think Irving will be back this week (though he does say it's possible). In any event, if I had to bet on who will be out longer, my money is on Irving over Jacobs.

The other thing is that I just think Tucker is better than Wilson. He's had a couple blow-up games when given the opportunity, including, most obviously, this past week. Wilson, on the other hand, is a JAG.

My confidence level on all of this is extremely low. (There's also the possibility that they turn back to White as the primary back, though I would bet against it). But gun to my head, I'm picking up Tucker before Wilson
So this is interesting. In a 14-team 0.5 PPR league where I already had Tucker, Wilson is still available. If I wanted him I would have to drop either Tucker or Vidal (who is possibly injured and possibly losing his job to a returning Hampton, but we don't really know any details about either guy).

The thing is, I don't really need any of these guys this week (have Gibbs and Marks as my RBs and TMac as my flex) and Wilson has two tough matchups coming up anyway (Min/Det). Long term I hopefully have Hampton and Benson coming back, so even less of a chance I would use him. So what am I picking him up for anyway?
