Weekly Waiver Wire Pick Ups - **CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK** Week 17 starts on Page 30 (2 Viewers)

Singletary? Worth much with backfield to himself and jets up next? And teams using jags blueprint to stop deep passes which may make them shift to the run more?

The most current info on Zack Moss is on cbssports.com, and it confirms his concussion.  He is now in the concussion protocol and still has a chance to play week 10.  That said, their split when both are healthy leans in Moss's favor, but it's very close.  The question is, does he deserve it?  Zack's 3.58YPC pales in comparison to Devin's 4.86YPC, but Zack seems to do alot more with his receptions (18/166 vs 21/82).

The Bills do use both players a decent amount.  They are RB's 31 and 39 at the moment, and are doing enough to kill each other's fantasy outlook.  Hate to say it, but an injury to one is a blessing to the other, for fantasy purposes.

It would be for me since I have both.

And you can be sure it won't be a 50/50 split with the next RB in line.  Taiwan Jones has played 1 snap all season, and Matt Breida hasn't seen the field since his 2 snaps in week 2.  I would gladly have either in my starting lineup if Moss or Singletary sat out.  Then you only have to worry about Josh Allen vulturing all your TD's.

Jaret Patterson worth a stash? Finally have the nerve to drop Julio in my 12 team for a free stash.
I'm not sure about dropping Julio's upside for Patterson's upside, but unless Gibson looks like his old, dynamic self out of the bye, I'm not sure that there's a happy ending there.  I'm not sure that leaves a lot for Patterson behind McKissic, but I think he's a decent stash in deeper leagues.

I think this one is going under the radar.   High ankle sprain for Edmonds means that Eno could conceivably have this role through the first week of the fantasy playoffs.   Eno has splashed a little bit in pre-season and I think he's completely forgotten based on not getting on to the field out of special teams considerations.   A lot of people were shocked to see him slide to the 7th round when he came out.

Also, we're talking about the #2 to James Conner.   Yes, that James Conner that can't get through a full season healthy.

And just think - you would have a guy named Enotobong on your roster.

I am not 100% certain about this but doesn't Moss get the majority of short yardage carries (i.e . goal line, 2nd or 3rd & short stuff)?

I feel like he's probably worth a pickup, but not necessarily worth a waiver priority. We're talking about a guy who will likely be his team's RB2 for a few weeks.

I started Moss this past week thinking it was as good as it would ever get for the guy.

When will I learn to never, ever trust that feeling? He left the game early and never came back. Hard to trust a RB with a concussion. I'm probably going to drop him this week.

Aiyuk, Bateman or Gage in terms of the best WR off waivers this week? Or is there someone I'm possibly missing? Elijah Moore is there but I don't trust him as much against the Bills defense along with Davis coming back.

Just got offered Aaron Jones plus Adrian Peterson for CMC.  Definitely going to turn that down, but I am intrigued enough to try to think of a counter offer.  Panthers offense is awful, while Packers should be solid going forward.  Schedule also is decent for A Jones, with no Red matchups, while CMC has a few.  They both have the same Bye week.

Redraft league?

I would have to say yes, which would bring his YPC down, but not come close to the 1.28 YPC difference.

With Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris in concussion protocol who do you pickup? JJ Taylor / Brandon Bolden or neither? Cleveland isn't exactly the jets so not sure both of them go off against them. Maybe neither? I think JJ Taylor is the better player but they trust Brandon Bolden more.

Or do you just stash Rhamondre and see if he gets out of protocol earlier than Harris?

Not sure how often players get out of protocol and play that same week.

Of course not but a couple better running situations for Moss, a couple worse ones for Singletary would make some difference.

Because of injuries...I have been running FA pickups at my RB2 or flex spot for a while.  Picked another up overnight on speculation with the Cook news.  So now I need to drop one to pick up a kicker this week...

Chuba Hubbard...likely to be dropped later this week if I have to activate Carson

Adrian Peterson...still holding thus far due to an offense that goes to the run often...but could be 3 headed RBBC

Alexander Mattison...latest pickup if Cook will miss time.

Tony Pollard...we know what he can do if Zeke gets hurt...but that is all he is at this point is insurance for a player I don't have.

Those are supporting my starting cast of Aaron Jones, Saquon (when he comes back), Eli Mitchell, and Chris Carson who looks like he will give practice a go this week.

All this rb streaming is giving me a headache. Need 7 guys to make up performance for 2 rb spots because of guys getting Covid, concussions, injuries, off the field troubles…. May need backup for your options like last week when herbert and Hubbard became useless.

rb streamer ranking week 10 if they are the sole back

dernest - chubb Covid

collins - not sure Carson comes back or not

singletary - moss concussion

Secondary choices if first are no go

Freeman assuming Murray is out and it’s 50/50 split again with freeman getting receptions and goal line opportunities

bolden assuming both Stevenson and Harris are out.

ap / mcnichols - I really don’t like this matchup but if the other guys aren’t sole back I think this is the backup.

Handcuffs with guys in front who potentially wont play due to news speculation and injuries

ingram - kamara rumors

pollard - knee contusion for zeke. He had two very low floor games so not sure he’s an easy flex every game in ppr anymore.

mattison - litigation may cause suspension but trending unlikely

Stevenson - if he gets out of concussion protocol has upside to take over Harris role

as awful as ever (pick any year including 2021)

you wanna trust Howard or Siriani be my guest
Thats cool ,i guess you dont need a combined 30 points the last 2 weeks ,im sure many looking for bye replacements probably do . Conrats on the great season you`re having .

Anyone have thoughts on Drake? He saw some more run and picked up a bunch in the passing game last week. Was that game dependent, or a maybe a sign of things to come without Ruggs?

Kamara rumors? ??

im not sure the relevance, its a waiver wire thread and i made a suggestion and it turned out to be a fruitful pick up .These suggestions are ALL hit or miss ,this was a hit
I get your point and he has value now but it's only really a hit if people actually put that player in their lineup. I doubt anyone started him in week 8 and last week was still only a play by the truly desperate.  For the vast majority he's been a pyrrhic victor so far.

Going forward is when we really learn if he was a hit or not.  I did just read that the Eagles signed him to the active roster which is definitely an endorsement.

People are looking for a warm body weekly ,they use that body for a week then drop them in most instances ,sometimes they become something special like Kurt Warner did in 1999 , but thats very unusual .Point is many people in a league may be looking as well and the early bird gets the worm...hit or miss

So, based on your take:

Week 8 - no one in their right mind would've started him - he scores 17.7
Week 9 - only the truly desperate would've started him - he scores 13.1
Week 10 - so, how desperate do you have to be to finally put him in your starting lineup?

IMO, any owner who picked him up out of necessity should've started him in week 9.  The bigger the league, the more important these types of players are.  I guarantee there are leagues where some owner has to start a guy like Howard every week.

And BTW, thanks for letting me google this...
I did the same lol

Pyrrhic victory is a victory or success that comes at the expense of great losses or costs. In business, examples of such a victory could include succeeding at a hostile takeover bid or winning a lengthy and expensive lawsuit.

But i found the definition confusing in the context of picking up players on the WW

Of course. I absolutely agree.

And is it unfair to suggest that anyone who is picking up a player to start that is available on the waiver wire in week 9 would, by definition be a little desperate?

We are back in the grabbing Stevenson zone again. Could be a great spot start this week is he clears and Harris doesn't. Plus he looks really good.

They both didn't practice.

They are hopeful Stevenson plays this week and nothing mentioned about Harris who was completely knocked out this weekend. Do what you will with this info.

Where does Bolden fit in all of this?
I am in the same boat following this. Harris owner who wanted to handcuff Stevenson this week (now concussed and could come back) but went Bolden on waivers and got him. I'm ready to drop Bolden IF Harris is OUT and Stevenson is ready to go. Tough call right now. Cannot carry 3 NE RB's and then there's JJ to muddy the waters.

I'm in similar boat.  Was fulling planning on starting Harris this week.  Stevenson and Bolden were both on WW, and I dropped my kicker to pick up Bolden.  Stevenson is still there.  I would assume if either of them is DNP on Friday then that guy would be ruled out (which would allow me to put Harris on IR).  For now at least, what a mess.

We weren't questioning whether someone would have picked him up in week 9 and started him.  We were questioning whether or not someone would have started him in week 9, after having picked him up in week 8.  If I had been "desperate enough" to pick up Howard in week 8, I most certainly would have started him in week 9, after watching him go for 2 TD's.  It wasn't like he got 2 carries for 2 yards and 2 TD's in week 8.  He got 12 carries for 57 yards (4.8 YPC), and followed it up with 17 for 71 (4.2 YPC).

Where do you guys rank these Rookie WW WRs? Usually during second half, some rookie or 2nd year WR emerges...

I'm currently thinking:

1. Elijah Moore
2. Rashod Bateman
3. Kadarius Toney
4. Rondale Moore

2nd year...

Jeudy if he was even on anyones waivers.

Good order, except I would switch #1 and #2. Bateman has a great QB and has a role already as #1B WR. Moore is good but could have QB issues unless White is the real deal.  Toney is electric but can he stay healthy?

Yeah the only concern I have with Bateman is what happens when Watkins returns... Does he get less snaps / targets? He's currently 1B because Watkins has been out.

And you were desperate enough to do it. Anyone who watched the Eagles all season long and decided to roll with any Eagles RB after one game was, where they routed their winless opponent 44-6 was either delusional or desperate. It worked out which is vindication enough to not worry about what I think.

This game is all about making choices based on very incomplete information with countless variables.  Congrats on it working out and I hope it continues to work for you. But if Jordan Howard (or Boston Scott) is a fixture in your lineup going forward then something went wrong and you're desperate for help.

Is Bell worth a pickup for tonight?  With Chubb in COVID, I have a need for a flex play.  I moved my flex to a starting RB.  Right now I have Knox as TE and Hick at Flex.  All notable RBs are gone from WW, save for Stevenson, Bell, and Holden.  Bell mustered 49yds and a TD last week. Hock hasn't done much as DET offense sucks and opponents are taking him out of the game.

Was thinking He'll may be a lottery pick for tonight vs MIA.  I have to think BALT will be there being alit and Freeman can't take a full load.

Thoughts?

Ha ha.  I don't own Jordan Howard, and never have.  I was only siding with @ZADO because he suggested Howard, then he had 2 good games.
