What are the chances the Lions actually get Prince Amakamura? (1 Viewer)

Please drop to the Lions! PLEASE!!!
Why would this guy drop past dallas's not covering rearends???
Because my fellow Cowboy fan friends of mine keep saying our problem isn't with our cornerbacks. I don't know what team they were watching last year. But, it doesn't seem to be an area of need, according to these folks. At least we all agree we need help all over the O-line, so I imagine that's where we'll go. With a young, immature tackle who won't be ready for a few years...and likely won't be all that good, anyway. I can't make this #### up.

Dallas's problems are always their corners or its the scheme. Either way, WR's are always running around open!! They couldnt cover my mother...

I have no faith in the possible O lineman they draft, they will end up being a project and getting cut in 3 years. The D linemen they draft will be a huge bust..atleast Prince can help them now, this year and in the future..

I really believe the smartest move is to go after Castonzo or Carimi and get them settled in at RT first. Pick up an extra pick to use at LB or Safety. But, I agree with you...I don't trust Jerry & Stephen Jones to do the right thing with this #9 selection. Plus, there are so many teams that want to move down, the Cowboys are just not in a great bargaining position to get much of a return for their pick.

The Lions need linebackers much much more than the secondary.
I live in detroit and watch every game and we definatly need Cbs more then lbs.. Shut down corners are hard to come by and the lions have Peterson, Levi and they will draft someone like Casey matthews or greg jones in 3-4 round... Amukamara would be the obvious pick if he fell to 13.

Pretty sure Peterson was cut. The LB's are thin and the CB's are mediocre. Like any team you can usually succeed in pass defense if pressure is applied. I don't have as much confidence as most that Amukamara is a shutdown corner. I think they will go with BPA between the LB, CB, and DE positions.

I'm in the camp that thinks while Amukamara's good, he's not going to be a shutdown guy by any means. He seems to really struggle against large receivers and doesn't show during bigger games. I think Seth Joyner did some statistical analysis which found that Amukamara's numbers were pretty mediocre compared to other early round CB prospects.

Alot of mocks have SF choosing him at 7, I think that would be a mistake. At 13 I think the Lions should seriously consider whether Jimmy Smith projects better as a pro.

What on earth are you guys on about? This is just like last year when people began to think McCoy was a better prospect than Suh. Amukamara is absolutely a shutdown corner. There is no questioning this if you have watched him play extensively. Think otherwise at your own peril. Hell, I will go on record to say that I think he will be a better NFL corner than Patrick Peterson.

I'll leave you with this statistic:

Opposing QBs challenged Amukamara only 52 times in the 2010 season. Of those 52 attempts, Amukamara allowed only 18 completions.
