What are you "Elite" at in Life? (1 Viewer)

Nothing.

Well, maybe humility.

Crap, now I just dropped myself out of the top 5%. Back to nothing.

Tossing the football around on a beach only using one hand (the other hand is occupied by a beer of course). The other participants need not be very accurate. It doesn't matter. I'm going to haul it in no matter how poorly it's thrown, and deliver a return pass with incredible accuracy every time for hours on end. I'm absolutely positive that I can do this better than Jerry Rice.

Also, holding in a sneeze. The key is to push your tongue against the roof of your mouth. It'll usually make it go away, or at the very least buy you enough time get out of an inappropriate sneezing situation.

Strength.  Can bench press 225 for 30 reps.  So pretty high ranking against everyone, but for my age (57) I've got to be top 1%.

Great one!

Also, it reminded me of another skill I can post.

I can stop pissing midstream at will, any time I wish.  Hold it for as long as I like (well reasonable...30 min usually no prob), and then continue when appropriate.

This has saved my ### tailgating many times...and won me a small amount of $.

Penmanship. Both cursive and printing. My handwritten thank you's are veritable works of art. And I'm a lefty, so people are amazed at the quality and that my letters are tilted the "correct" way.

Flossing

Flipping back and forth between shows during commercials without missing a second of live action, especially during sports

Being a dad

do you have a fixed recipe of kind of wing it recipe approach?
Never had a recipe. Just did as much as I could remember my late grandmother doing. By now it's just engrained, doing it every couple of weeks for years now.

Driving. I attribute this to my first car being insanely fast with the ####ty stock suspension, no power steering and power brakes.

changing tires- "Four minutes. Time me."

demolishing female orifices

Ring King - I've only been beaten once in hundreds and hundreds of bouts.

Aparently Contra since a lot of people think it's a hard game. I used to beat it over and over, rarely ever dying.

I'm taking back my like.

I thought you wrote "working In a room"
Oh no. I'm awful at actually working. But, I'm fabulous at having a 3 minute conversation, making someone think we are best friends, and then moving on to the next person without offending the first.

That's why I'm taking back my like.

I was just thinking the other day that there's really nothing I'm "elite" at.  Pretty good or solid in a lot of areas.  But it would be nice to have an elite skill.
My first thought was that I'm elite at being good at everything (except for maybe the arts) but not really great at anything. Got As in all subjects in school and don't really have a weaker or stronger area academically, can quickly pick up and do well in any sport, have a good memory so I know plenty of pop culture and historical tidbits, do very well at coordination games (darts, pool, ping pong, horseshoes, etc), am pretty learned on most subjects so I can carry a conversation with just about anybody regarding just about anything, etc.

I'm really, really good at hitting softballs for base hits to the opposite field. I've done incredibly well defending men charged with doing really bad sexual things and facing life in prison if convicted at trial (in fact every case I've taken to trial has resulted in an acquittal although I'm not sure how big of a sample size is needed to be able to at that it just hasn't been luck). But other than those two things, I can quickly think of somebody or several people better than me at just about anything else.

Man, top 1-5% is a high bar.

I think I'm uber elite at bringing friends together for events.  Have had 24 guys coming for a 4 day Ryder Cup type golf event for 25 years.  Had 15+ couples go to TigerJam in Vegas every year.  Bunch of folks going to concerts (12 of us going to see Eric Clapton in 3 weeks).  For Kentucky Derby day I'll coordinate the tables at the OTB, have specialty meats on the smoker, book the Alvarez/Chavez fight and have a few card tables set up for all night poker.  I'm that guy.  Love to put carrots on the calendar.  I handle all of the details.  They just show up.
