What happened to Hightower (1 Viewer)

Grossman threw 4 picks, the Redskins were down the entire game, Redskins running game didn't really have a chance to establish themselves.

As mentioned in the other thread, judgement is still out on the Washington running game.

Philadelphia only scored 20 points. It was never at a point where Washington should have just abandoned the run...especially against that run defense.Only 14 carries? That's idiotic.

Agree with you, but the qbs were so awful that most series would abruptly end with a pick (in Grossman's case) or land at the receivers' feet (in Beck's case). I think at one point the Redskins had only 7 offensive snaps to the Eagles 22.Not a fun game to watch if you had any Redskins players (except for maybe Fred Davis).

Anyone watching the Washington game able to chime in? From spotty reports that he'd start to not even one carry? What happened?
Shanahan said in his post game interview that he informed Hightower prior to the game he would only be used in an emergency situation. He mentioned that Hightower was still plagued by the shoulder injury and that he did not want to play him if he wasn't 100%.

Nothing that hadn't already happened last week. He's dinged up, was limited in practice all week, is not the best runner on the team (at least, not the best zone blocking, one-cut runner), and doesn't have a history of being favored by the coaches. And, unless the word "starter" comes out of Shanahan's mouth (and it never did), all the supposed "spotty reports" are simply media conjecture. All signs pointed to Torain this week.
