What happens to Minn's playoff hopes (1 Viewer)

What happens to Minn's playoff hopes if they lose to WA tonight? They aren't playing very well and looks like they will lose.

I think this is pretty important to owners of Adrian Peterson since next week's game at Denver would be critical to Minn - assuming they still have a shot.

Childress can kiss my ###. Yes, I do have Peterson on my squad and I may lose because of tonight, but still. You have quite possibly the most electrifying player in the NFL and he gets the ball 9 TIMES????? Are you f'ing kidding me?? Im glad the Vikings lost. Im glad their season is over. Childress is a pencilnecked dork.

As far as the playoffs go, they need to win and WAS needs to lose. And IIRC, the WAS game is early and the Vikes is late so they'll know if they have a shot or not by kickoff, or shortly therafter. If both WAS and MIN lose and the Saints win, then the Saints go.

They said the Wash game got moved back during halftime I believe.

Interesting thing happened with game times tonight -- the NFL moved the start times of all the meaningful games around so that they're all concurrent. Nobody will know what happened prior to their game -- for example, the Redskins had been slated to start at 1. If they won, the Vikings would have been eliminated and might have tanked their 4 p.m. game vs. Denver -- now everybody has to play to win.

Not sure how Childress keeps his job after allowing Jackson to pass 41 times. AP, the best player on the team by a mile, touched the ball 11 times.

I love it. So originally, the WA game was early? That is an excellent move by the NFL.

washington was originally 1, as was Pittsburgh, who is still fighting with SD for #3 and 4 -- both have been moved to 4, so they're playing same time as Minn and SD, respectively

I'm guessing Saints have been moved to 4 as well

Wash had 8 in the box all of the first half. The problem wasn't that the Vikes where throwing a lot, it is that T.Jackson just isnt a NFL ready QB yet.

The 'Skins jumped on them early and they had no choice.I'm not sure I liked that challenge at the beginning of the game on the one inch line. Leaving your offense backed up like that is just asking for trouble. I understand it's the difference between two and four points, but still...

I don't have the stats in front of me, but I am guessing that AP has better stats as the game goes on. I guess my point is that if you're going to lose, at least be able to say that your best player was featured in the game prominently. I didn't need AP tonight, so I am not angry about AP's stats. But it seems ridiculous to give AP so few touches in a critical game.

wtf? so you'd rather give them a TD, then have the vikings have the ball?

I dunno. It had a real adverse effect on the momentum. Plus, it gave them an extra offensive series.I'm not going to discuss this with you since you seem irrationally distraught. Good night and Merry Xmas.

i mean if i were to guess a %, a saftey would happen about 10% of the time in that situation. normally a team would run it three times and get to about the 3-5, and punt and the other team would get it close to midfield. it started the game out horrible, but the challenge was one thing childress did right tonight.

who would have thought that minny actually would have prefered GB to win today (making the dallas/skin game meaningful for the cowboys)

i hope dallas shows up next week and minnesota can pull one off in denver

wont get my hopes up too high like i did with the 5 game win streak

I don't know why Dallas would show up next week. Seems like they'll rest their starters - at least for the second half.

I don't think it's any worse for momentum having a safety than it is having a TD scored against you. I'd rather it be 2-0 than 7-0, wouldn't you? What is interesting to me is whether or not Childress hesitated to throw that flag on the Moss catch in the second half (that led to that bizarre overturned fumble due to the 12 men on the field challenge) given that he was hesitant to use his second and last challenge on that play in a game his team was trailing.
