What is everyone driving? (1 Viewer)

Sold my 2008 BMW 335 and bought a 2014 Kia Optima. It may sound insane but other than the lack of horsepower I feel like I upgraded. It's a very nice car. 5 year/ 60k base warranty plus 10 year/ 100k powertrain makes me sleep well at night compared to the numerous issues the BMW had that were killing my budget.
2007 335i. It's under extended warranty for a few more months then adios. Drove a couple of loaners recently, a 328 and x3. Didn't love either, so I'll be looking for another make probably.

Land Rover LR2 - I don't care what reviews say - it's been a GREAT reliable car for me...will probably get traded in at some point with kid #1 on the way. We'll need something a little bigger at some point.

Porsche Cayman - Only drive it once a week or so in the summer and fully realize that it'll likely be the last fun and impractical car I ever own...So my goal is to stretch the miles out over as many years as I can.

Wife has a new Acura RDX - Great car for the money.

I can't believe a thread like this here on FBG's has people talking Corollas and Maximas....

Where the Maserati's and Bentley talk?
Drove past a Maserati dealer today and noticed they have a new SUV. Someone pls talk me out of what I'm considering, which is going there tomorrow, trading in my Wrangler, and picking one up on a whim.

TIA

My SUV does one eighty-five

I lost my license, now I don't drive

2001 Honda Accord - 110K (wife's daily driver)

2003 Honda Pilot - 165K (my daily driver + the weekend all-weather/need to haul vehicle)

2009 Saturn Sky Redline - 23K (my newest vehicle - bought in 2014 - the weekend is nice, let's take a drive vehicle)

I'm considering a 2000 Porsche 911 Cabriolet with like 50k miles for just under $20k for a fun weekend driver.

Talk me in or out of it.

Seems like a good price if you have all the maintenance records.  How many owners?

I have the fastest car in the world.  I am not sure what make or model it is nor do I know what kind of engine it has, but what makes it so fast is that it’s a fully insured rental.  I can just keep my foot on the gas from when I start driving until I crash it.

I am the anti Otis the last 6 years or so.

Escalade/BMW 335 to Volvo SUV/Jeep Cherokee to 2011 4Runner/2016 Accord.

I fear a reversal when the new Ford Bronco comes out.  :excited:

You wont regret it. Do it.
Performance Toyota in the Cincy area is my dealership. I took the Tundra for a spin when they were changing my oil and it took everything I had not to pull the trigger. When it comes time for another maintenance visit I can't see myself saying no again.

I bought our Sienna there and that is where I go for maintenance.

I bought my Tundra from Toyota Direct in Columbus (Same guy owns performance I think).

I honestly cant see myself driving anything ever again. Had to drive the beater for a long time while we saved up money with all the kids, Finally got the go ahead to buy a truck and will never look back.

i bought a new car a few months ago, I wanted to buy a Lexus with 5-10K miles on it and my wife wanted me to buy a Mazda 6.  I really like the Mazda.

I have a 2015 Honda Pilot SE (bought November 2014).  Just hit 15,000 miles.  I work 3 miles from my house but we frequently go to Chicago and Cincinnati to see family.  Other than a tire blowing out, its been awesome.  Can't harp on enough that anyone with kids needs a DVD player.  Its a ####### game changer.

F'n Maserati drivers...  I drive a 2012 Mustang convertible.  Nothing too fancy, but it's fun.  I drive to the Home Depot to pick up some stuff.  Leave the top down, and park way out in the lot, so no one is likely to park next to me...  I need the exercise of walking to the store.

I come out, Maserati convertible parked right next to me.  Just to make me look like the ghetto car in the lot.  Thanks.

In a couple of months, when the twins arrive, I am going to have to pick up a minivan for the wife.  Looking at the Toyota.  We both would prefer an SUV, but the automatic sliding doors with twins is just too good of an option.  My buddy has one already and he loves it.

Would you both recommend Performance Toyota for a new purchase?  We might also consider going with a used for a few years until the twins are a little older and we can upgrade to an SUV.  My bank gives me cash for using certain dealers.  I'm not sure if Performance is on the list, but if not, would you still go there?  I am guessing it would be about $1000 give or take.  I also see a mention of Toyota Direct in Columbus.  I wouldn't mind the drive to columbus if its worth it.  I actually bought my Altima up there when I was on leave back in 2010.

I have bought a few vehicles from Performance and they are great. The great thing about going new with Toyota is Toyotacare where you get all required maintenance free for one year. Performance goes the extra mile and gives you 3 years. I don't car shop anywhere else.

Toyota direct will beat any price you can get. I have haggled with a lot of dealerships and they continually come out on top for their prices. They just move so much inventory.

Having said that, I don't think they will beat it by $1,000. Maybe 500.

Love your idea of going used until you can do SUV. We are 4-5 years from SUV and the sequoia is a heavy favorite right now.

Actually thinking I may go Raptor instead of the Maserati. Will that sucker for three car seats/boosters in the back?

2000 Honda Accord - 212k miles

2014 Honda CRV (my wife's vehicle) - 60k miles

2014 Honda Ridgeline (my truck) - 14k miles

We're definitely happy Honda owners.  Dependability is maybe my most valued trait in a vehicle.

German vehicles all the way for me.

2009 Benz C300 currently.  Had an Audi prior, and will not be going back after driving this car.  I'd recommend a certified pre-owned, as they are much cheaper and you still get a warranty program.

14 Fusion Hybrid. Good fuel economy, small trunk.

Ordering a 2015 Expedition in a couple weeks.
Doing this again.  Driving a Fusion Energi - just ordered a 2017 Expedition.

Energi gets 36-38mpg if I never plug it in with highway driving.  When I charge it and stay in town I never use gas.  Not much acceleration and smaller trunk than the 14 Hybrid.

Ordered a Volvo XC90 in August...have to wait till late November for it to come in.  The LR2 is going bye bye.  Still a good car, but starting to show its age at 160K+ miles.  The toughest issue I've had is that the horn no longer works.  I'm going crazy without it.

Likely going to pick up an Audi Q7 tomorrow. Saw one at the dealer today. Mrs O loved it, reviews are stellar, every safety and convenience you could ask for, and checks all the boxes for us. Sadly will probably trade in my Wrangler as a down payment. It was a good run.

Congrats. I like what Audi has done over the last 5 years.  The move from the Jeep to the wagon completes your transformation.
