Its friday fellas... Lets take a break from the political banter and have some fun around here.

Going the classic Mel.  How will he be remembered?  His days on the A list are over.

I absolutely love Braveheart, and watch it any time I stumble across it on TV.

However, for the poll, I think Mad Max would be considered his signature role. Followed by Lethal Weapon. I just think he's more well-known from this movies.

I wouldn't argue with anyone who said Braveheart, though.

Other - Sugartits Murphy in Rebel Without a Clue. I'll never forget him chasing Leibowitz down the street yelling "You killed my daddy. You killed my daddy!"

ETA: This might have been a flashback

He has been good in a ####load of good movies. If he didn't make so many gaffs he'd probably be regarded like Cooney and Hanks.

His signature role was Mad Max, then it became Riggs, then it became Wallace. Depending on age people could view it differently, but i think he will ultimately be remembered for Braveheart.

Air America I understand....but Mad Max is a huge cultural icon. It used to be played on network tv regularly and they made a sequel/reboot recently.

Was this a farm in Oregon?
Nope, I have no idea what Mad Max is about.  Maybe I will have to check it out.

It's hard to not say Martin Riggs, given how huge all of the Lethal Weapon movies were, but I have to go with William Wallace. Braveheart remains one of the best films ever.

Some other good roles not mentioned: We Were Soldiers, Tequila Sunrise, Edge of Darkness

He is also a great director: the Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto
