What is Philip Rivers' value? (1 Viewer)

Let's assume a standard 10 team league, standard scoring, etc.

What is the value of Philip Rivers? In other words, if one were to offer Rivers in a 1:1 trade for a RB or a WR, what is the fair value that one could expect to get back?

Is Rivers worth an Ahmad Bradshaw? Or someone like a Marshawn Lynch?

Is Rivers worth a Dez Bryant? Or someone like a Santonio Holmes?

I've got him and stafford and have had trouble dealing him. Problem is there are too many teams with qbs and the guys that have the E. Mannings, Freemans, etc. seem to want to trade their depth to upgrade other positions. I think owners are best waiting till he hopefully has some big games.

You'd do a lot better in a 14 or 16 team league. Everyone in a ten teamer should have a good enough QB that Rivers doesn't give you enough lift to move a starter at the RB or WR position.

Ive offered Jahvid Best/Hasselbeck and VJax/Hasselbeck, or Blount/Hass and all were declined. Even when I upgraded the QB from Hass to Big Ben it got declined. Maybe its just this guy in my dynasty league, but he seems to want Adrian Peterson or something.

I don't have Rivers in any league but it is funny how short everyone's memory is, he was the #2 Qb in all my leagues last year. This is going to be a down year overall but he will rebound. This is where the problem lies though. Current owners will want last years value or "rebound" value while people wanting to get him are going to want him for basement value.

I would be happy to get Dez for him but I am a big fan of his. I would probably want more than Bradshaw for him unless I was pretty sure Jacobs was going to be out longer.

It's going to be like Mendenhall. You couldn't get a can of soup for Mendenhall a week ago and this week I've received 5 offers. Will be the same for Rivers. First game he has 300 yards, 3 TD's, and, most importantly, some of it going to a "healthy" Gates it will be the same thing. The truth is the lower tier QB's have been outperforming him. Will that continue, or will they wilt? Will people be willing to bet on some of their QB's like Fitzpatrick will perform at the same level when the cold weather comes? Do people think this is it from Rivers or will he rise to expectations and to the mean over the rest of the year?

Most people wait a week too long to make a trade. When Rivers has his big game, the price will be too steep.

This is what I think as well. One big game and he'll be talked about as a "stud" again. Now, do I have the guts to trade for him...?

In a 12 team, non-PPR, start 3 WR and 1 QB league I traded Rivers for Dez Bryant last week. I already have Stafford and the owner who acquired Rivers was stuck with Freeman at QB so the deal made sense for both of us.
