I'll be honest...I don't even know where that county is.  If it's in the panhandle I had thought about throwing a huge disclaimer in my post regarding the panhandle.  It really is like a different state altogether best I can tell.    There seems to be an area between Gainesville and Pensacola that is not as "integrated" as the rest of the state?  I think that's the best way to say that.  

All of north Florida is like a different state. West of Jax and up might as well be Georgia. There is not much of a Latino population up north at all.

I see Pasco County is Tampa area

Only spend much time over that way at the Casino or for a bowl game on occasion, but it's one of those areas where all kinds of groups are mixed together....no telling what you're going to get on any given trip.

We also have had the Ludlow massacre, the Sand Creek massacre and we have the Back Canyon of the Gunnison.  We have African American Mayors, Gay Governors, elk, moose, cut throats and rainbows and we have California by the throat if we ever turn off their water.  Still, I would give the title to some other state.  the stuff we have is not necessarily representative of the country.

I agree with California (little biased I live here).

But it has the most ethnic diversity,  a large political diversity (Central Calif is very right wing)

It has the ocean,  the mountains, the farmlands and the desert.

The inland areas tend to be more conservative.  The Central Coast is still fairly liberal.

I would pick Texas.  You have the diversity with a more representative middle class.

The weather isn’t as nice though.

I have a friend from London who's traveled a good bit in the US. He said he can see Texas, California and Illinois. He said Chicago seemed like the quintessential big US city. I agree.

What I thought was interesting is his impression was New York City didn't feel "American" at all. He said it felt way more like London.

It’s unfortunate that Pasco is lumped in with Tampa area.  Ugh.  See Port Richey.
