So I posted in the Reggie Bush thread that my league settings lock the entire roster at the start of the first game. I had Bush in my lineup at the start of the Thursday game. And as we all now know, he was ruled out on Friday.

Ironic thing is that I posted a message to the league a few weeks prior (when Thursday games started) that I thought it was a stupid rule. And I got poo-pooed.

So... my question is what is of your opinion of negging this rule at this point. Up until now, it has not affected any outcomes of games. And so long as everyone has the opportunity to alter their lineups (aside from Washington/Chicago players). I just think that it will cheapen the entire season if I lose because I got hosed by having Bush in my lineup.

And as I stated in the other thread... I know.

:goodposting:

It's a stupid, stupid rule, especially with the advent of the NFL network and its many Thursday games.

That being said, it means you must be extremely cautious about people with injuries, and you weren't.

ETA: And you can't change it in the middle of the season. Changing rules in midstream is lame. Advocate for change in the offseason.

I would put it up for a league vote asap. It's a stupid rule and needs to be fixed. Last year I changed the rule in mid season and everyone was in favor of it. I changed the rule to 5 minutes before the kick-off of the player in questions game.

Edited to Add: For this week However, I think the rule should still apply. But I don't see any reason I can't be changed for the next week since the rule change won't benifit any team.

I don't recall there being any mention of a possible injury on Thursday.

Agreed on both points. It's a stupid rule and should be changed in the offseason. Assuming you are using an online league hosting service like the vast majority of leagues there's no need for early deadlines. On the other hand, when you know that's the rule, leaving a questionable player that doesn't go until Monday in your lineup is playing with fire. I'm guessing it was a high risk, high reward move to start Bush b/c you didn't like your other RBs, and now you're pissed because he was declared 'out' and you're most likely out in the first round of the playoffs.

he said that he didn't know anything about bush's injury when he started him.

unless EVERYONE in the league wants to change it now, i don't see how you can until the offseason.

would you want to change the rule now if your opponent this week had bush started?

Personally I would. I think it's a stupid rule, and I wouldn't want to win that way. It's just ####### fantasy football for chrissakes. It cheapens the game.
