What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Coppertail Coral Haze Pale Ale

Garagiste Gobvee One, a PB&J mead with blueberries, grapes, apples, and strawberries.

I made one of the most questionable purchases of my adult life, but I was a moth to a flame due to my love of coffee and beer: Pabst Blue Ribbon Spiked Coffee.
I can’t decide what time of day I am supposed to drink it. At 8 am and get a buzz? At 7 after dinner and stay up all night? One league mate thinks I may have found the perfect work from home drink

Leaven Brewery Lil’ Lad. Had this sitting around in a crowler since March. Sours last way longer than other beers in cans/bottles.

@OrtonToOlsen wait, what?  Who were you?  LOL... thanks for the purchase!  and the kind words.  What bottles did you get?
Just saw this, sorry.

I picked up on Sunday (7/26?).  You were in the process of talking to your dog’s brother or your brother’s dog lol.

I got 2 IPAs and 2 saisons...(Green Valley, Mist, Moonlight...?). All 4 were great.

I would have introduced myself but I’m basically a shy guy, I also have a certain mystique I need to protect, and we were in the process of checking into our hotel (the Rigdon).

In the Beforetimes the wife and I would make it over to the coast (usually MB but with side trips to Cayucos and Cambria) about 7-8 times a year.   When all this is over I promise to make an official and friendlier visit.

Keep brewing, brother.

Little road trip to Santa Rosa today with the family. Hit up Russian River for some Pliny for President. Maximum allowable purchase, 6 4pks of 16oz. cans. $150. No joke. And totally worth it.

Smells as good as it tastes, if you're into that.
Picked up 3 elders from nugget, so tasty. Stone brewing’s FML is now carried at the local Safeway and target, it’s fn delicious

HAHA, I remember the transaction but not much else so your mystique is safe with me!  That dog was scout and he is the brother to my dog.  Glad you enjoyed the beers... let me know you thoughts on the Dark Saison if you can.  Thanks for your support!

Both of the saisons were great.  Not sure if I remember which was which, sorry.

I will absolutely come back when in town.  And Scout seemed like a good boy.

Golden Road Wolf Pup “session” IPA.

It’s trash.  Have you had 805? Have you had 805 with a Tums thrown in?  And then licked a bath towel?

Of course you haven’t.

But that’s what Wolf Pup tastes like.  I hate myself for buying it because it was like $6 cheaper.

Discovered this cool nano-brewery in Grand Rapids called Arvon. Their business model is each weekend (or so) they come to a different county in Michigan and deliver the beer you ordered to your porch. Their NEIPAs are first rate. Currently having a South Haven which is a 1 hop Galaxy bomb.
Hate to quote myself but got more from them- currently doing a Double Mosaic. Great beer and a convenient model.

I'll have to check these guys out when I go to GR, thanks.

I'm still always out looking for quality pilsners and I found two recently.

Brooklyn Pilsner:  I've had this before during a trip to upstate NY.  When I looked for it around central PA I had a difficult time finding it.  Well, I happened to be at a distributor a few weeks ago and they had it.   I had to buy a whole case and it was worth it.  It really is an excellent example of a german pilsner.

Troegs Trail Day:  So the story on the can basically says Troegs wanted to brew a beer that you would want to drink after a long hike.  They nailed it.  It is crisp and light and it is dry hopped for a slight citrus refreshing finish.

Football beers:

Sierra Nevads Pale Ale - always a classic. The beer that got me into craft beer.

Wicked Weed Pernocious IPA. Nothing amazing, but completely adequate.

Football grub (key west pink shrimp & cocktail sauce, guacamole and chips, deviled eggs, bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, pressed cuban sammiches)

Was walking by a pretty generic beer distributor not far from my house that I’ve not gone to before and decided to pop in.  Mostly what I expected but a few decent variety packs and was able to snag one from cigar city canned 8/29.  Florida cracker, jai alai, Florida man and guayabera.  Not the most novel, but a nice little find for $24/12 pack

Hop Butcher-Unwind Your Mind is DELICIOUS. I love the hop blend of  Mosaic, Motueka & El Dorado. I feel like that is one I don't see too often.

Followed up with an Equilibrium dHop26 which has a super scientific description that seems extra pretentious but the beer is money.

IDK where you are in the Detroit Area, but you should look for Transient Ales.  I live right by there, they have a distributor from Ann Arbor for your area.  He started out at Jolly Pumpkin.   He has a rep for making great beers.  You would have to go to the better liquor stores to find them.

Have some Juice is Loose in the fridge, it’s good stuff!

Odd Side Hazels Nuts

breaking out a stout for the cooler weather. This one BBA with hazelnuts, coffee, chocolate and oats. 2020 batch is as delicious as ever.
