First of my numerous trades I have brewing to come in. These next couple weeks are going to be great.

Drinking a Stoudt's DIPA. Saw it today for the first time in Sacramento. I was stoked, especially since it was on my wants list. The only problem is that it isn't quite what I was expecting. 10% abv and cloyingly sweet isn't what I look for in an IPA. 3.65/5

Yeah, I had it a few weeks ago. It was good, but nothing to write home about.

I was just watching the movie Waiting... and noticed that all the beer is Abita. They had an Abita Light neon sign and a Purple Haze neon sign in the movie and whenever they showed someone with beer it was Abita. I like Abita, but what's up with that?and BTW, six months ago I would've been oblivious to all of that.

Followed it up with a few SN Porters. Funny, when I tried it about 5 months ago, I thought it was only OK, now I really enjoy it.

Now onto my favorite - Paulaner hefe.

Followed it up with a few SN Porters. Funny, when I tried it about 5 months ago, I thought it was only OK, now I really enjoy it.

If you like the Paulaner Hefe, and I agree it is a good hefe, try the Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. Simply the best German hefe imo.

Yeah, it's probably the best ESB I have ever had. It had a great bitterness to it along with a nice malt, but neither element was over the top. Just a strong tasting, easy drinking beer. The lacing in the glass reminded me of a big, sticky DIPA. Really good stuff. If you can find it, get some.

Its a good one for sure I think Old Rasputin and Rogue Chocolate Stout were my first 2 big stouts that opened my eyes to stouts. I have a few BIG stouts in my fridge that Im want to try side by side....Stone RIS, Storm King, Alesmith Speedway, and Bear Republic Big Bear. Storm King is the only one Ive tried so far. Should make for a nice stout tasting night.
