God, I love this beer.

Have you tried Busch light yet? I hear good things about that too.

On what planet is Sam Adams considered low-rate beer?

I'm just busting your balls a little. Generally light beer is very inferior to the real stuff, but there is a time and place for everything.

Nothing wrong with Sam Light. Good bar choice, and a solid light choice. I might go for something else......like.....oh......Beatification. But that's just me.

Next time I go to Russian River, I'll speak to Vinnie for you.Max: "Hey Vinnie! Could I talk to you for a minute?"

I only have two left. The brewery usually reserves a few cases for walk in customers, so I'm hoping to pick up a few more when I go there soon. That's how I got the bottle of Redemption I sent to Bax.

Pours clear yellow/gold with a medium size head. Mossy smell is noticeableat first sniff. Nice clean flavor with hop bite mid-taste, but quickly fading into a crisp refreshing finish. This is a good beer, I am not normally a huge fan of lagers, but I could drink this one again and again.

I felt the same way about FFFs Pride & Joy. Brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. Mostly because I have 3 6-packs downstairs and none cold. But that's a story for another post.

Middle Ages XI - an 8.5% Double Wheat, brewed with their house Ringwood yeast. VERY different - definite wheat graininess in the background, with a solid hit of bittering hops and alcohol, followed by... I don't know what the hell to call this flavor. Definitely getting some citrus/tangerine hops (Ahtanum? Amarillo? I know they changed off from Palisade for the bottled version), but there's an aromatic maltyness and hoppiness that's faintly reminiscent of blueberries. Then it finishes with a toasty-biscuity finish.

Fun brew.

The best beer I had tried before was SNPA. Not that it's a bad beer jst i hadn't tried a whole lot.

Nothing wrong with that -- thats why its cool that theres so many styles -- theres something for every taste.I think you should get into one of the BIFs....I guarantee you will discover styles that will be new favorites. Its the best way to try a bunch of new things without spending an arm and a leg, and these beer guys can nail down a good selection for you to try when it comes time for you to receive. On top of that, you may get into trading once you discover those styles, and then you will be addicted and will drop way too much money on beer and trades.

XSam Smiths is one of the most overrated breweries out there. You want a good Brown Ale?? I cant think of any off the top of my head but these guys will list about 50 or so if you want...
