What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

at this point i've probably sampled a beer or two from maybe 30 or so different styles and all i could tell you is that IPAs aren't really my thing.
Nothing wrong with that -- thats why its cool that theres so many styles -- theres something for every taste.I think you should get into one of the BIFs....I guarantee you will discover styles that will be new favorites. Its the best way to try a bunch of new things without spending an arm and a leg, and these beer guys can nail down a good selection for you to try when it comes time for you to receive. On top of that, you may get into trading once you discover those styles, and then you will be addicted and will drop way too much money on beer and trades.

Good times
 The other thing I do now is at ANY store i just look at beers. 6:00 am and getting a coffee, and checking out beer.
convenience store? or does your local beer store double as a coffee shop...
Conveniance. Even th locaol arab store. Stop in to grab a non-alcoholic beverage during the day . . . .look at beer.

:lmao: Dude, you have come into your own in these beer threads. Before these I dont think I ever laughed at your posts (or even noticed them  ), but now you crack me up every time. I dont know if you just werent trying before, or if the influence of beer has anything to do with it, but youre definately a funny *******.

F'n Gator.

edit: this is not brown nosing due to the sniper package received recently.

i knew jack#### about beer before starting this... i still don't really know a lot.. but it's getting better all the time and we're drinking great beer!

I'm liking porters and stouts myself but nothing really amazes me out of that group..not yet, at least. brown ales? i've had 2-3. i like the local oak pond brewing but did not like samuel smith's which is apparently one of the better out there for the style.
stouts & porters are my thing as well... have had a LOT of amazing ones recently. you're out east.. can you get the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout? that's a great one. Cadillac Mountain also gets high marks.seems to be a pretty easy style to brew.. there are a lot of good ones out there.. maybe go the Imperial Stout route?

nop i'll just be settling into school. how long has it taken the first one to run? 2nd semester would be ideal for me: some brews to warm me up during the new england winter. good god do i hate to think about that right now.

Your first try from the BIF package needs to be the Ruination.

SNPA

Shiner Bock

Coors Light (?)
SNPA...had it before? Any good?
It's decent. I may have it again sometime.Jeez, all that's left in the fridge is poker game leftovers. Red Stripe, Dos Equis, Coors Light, Pilsner Urquel. Would it kill these guys to drink beer that's worth a ####?

Still disappointed that I missed that at the last Oregon Brewer's Festival. That and Pliny the Elder, though the Pliny is back again this year. Hopefully KT and I will be hooking up there for a couple :banned: Lion Stout courtesy of Skylord. This is a great stout! Appreciate the extra coffee flavor in a stout, and it wasn't overpowering. Very drinkable.

Yeah I love that stout. Recently sent one to Wingnut as well. Gave that pup a 4.3, excellent dessert stout.

I've been VERY good recently about beer buying...and trading actually. Wierd thing is that I'm running out of beer. Probably will start focusing on the beers of yester year and start rating a lot of them.

The one from Sri Lanka? I finally picked one up Monday night. I kept passing it over for other beers. Went in Monday in search of the 60th Ann. St. Bernardus. Not there yet. Couldn't leave w/o something, so I bought the Lion Stout and a 6er of Hop Devil. Not really "stout weather" right now, but I'll drink it eventually.

 only Stone i've had so far was the IPA.

the others i've been saving until i get doubles. now i have doubles of most of my Stone stock so i'm going to commence drinking them.

Victory Prima

Pours clear yellow/gold with a medium size head.  Mossy smell is noticeableat first sniff.  Nice clean flavor with hop bite mid-taste, but quickly fading into a crisp refreshing finish.  This is a good beer, I am not normally a huge fan of lagers, but I could drink this one again and again.
It's not a lager GB.
Au contraire my sleep deprived, bike rinding, vomit inducing, i-friend. Of the two primary styles of beer (ale & lager), pilsners are most definately lagers. And Victory Prima is  :banned:

And if you don't believe me, here is what beer advocate has to say about it.

"Pilsner is one of the most popular styles of lager beers ..." - link

NIGHT?!?!?! Holy frejoles. That'd be a good week of stouts for me. Or at best a weekend. Do us all a favor and post in this thread once you get about halfway into that list on the night in question. And be sure to stay around until the end --- either passing out or stark-raving drunk off your ###.

He better have friends coming over to help. Some, maybe most, of those are bombers or bigger.
