What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

I going to be trying to put a better dent in my DuClaw Mother's Milk growler tonight. I dont recommend 64oz of barelywine loviness for 1 person even over 2 days
Sounds like no problem to me if it's a good Barleywine.
Maybe its my sissy tummy that has the issue. Pretty sweet/syrupy this one is
After reading a few of the BA reviews, I can see how you might have some trouble. Seems to be a pretty syrupy barleywine.

I just tracked down 1 case, of 500 made, of a beer for my shipment Monday. I might be able to get two, maybe. :####inghappy####ingpickle:

I love when they give out free samples at the store. I almost always buy a six pack of the particular brand, so as to encourage more sample giving out.

Yellowstone Valley Brewing, Black Widow Oatmeal Stout.

Got a sixer of the Red too. Havent had one of them yet...except for the few samples

I think Duvel is overated, not sure of the concensus. On that note, we need to get some averages going here, like best style fo the crew, etc. What are the locals thoughts on Oatmeal Stouts? Not the body of an IS, but is there enough there to make it worth you wild?

Duvel is a very good beer, but probably true that based on the BA rating it is overated.I like some oatmeal stouts, like Troegs.

I'm so confused. And tired. :bye:

Having a Trader Joe's 2006 Vintage Ale. Picked it up on a lark; says it's a Belgian strong dark ale, but doesn't seem quite as strong as some. Pretty good for the price ($5 for a 750 mL) so I may grab a couple more next time I'm there.

This is a Unibroe brew. Definitely pick up a few more.

I always wondered who brewed it. I've never actually purchased it.So is it the Trois Pistoles? Or a new beer?

I'd agree with JAA here.
I agree with Skylord agreeing with JAA. But seriously "worth your wild?"I like Oatmeal Stout as a change of pace. But, there's not a style I don't like to drink at least occasionally (outside of American wheat).

I don't know if I would categorize it as 'overrated'. It is what it is. A nice easily drinkable belgain golden. It lacks the complexity of some other belgians, but it is still a good tasting beer.

Good beer purchase day for me...

On my drive to Detroit, stopped by Dark Horse Brewery. Bought a 6er of Crooked Tree IPA (Double comes out in Feb). And got a Growler of a DELICIOUS brew Scotty Karate Scottish Ale. This is some yummy stuff.

Also puchased Some Jolly Pumpkin La Roja. On Saturday on my way home from Detroit, I am gonna stop by the brewery to see what else they have available that I cannot find in stores. Any suggestions (besides their "Grand Reserves")?

Yes. Fuego Del Otono, Autumn Fire. Best beer they make, hands down.

Finally had my Speedway Stout tonight. Split it with a friend. That's a pretty strong beer. Was actually kinda hard for me to drink at first, but mellowed out fairly well as it warmed. I liked it.
