Looks like BTG is truly dead ####### banana. That pisses me off. We had plenty of quality content there I was hoping to keep even if we migrated elsewhere. What we'll do from here is follow up on the suggestions and offers in this thread lately to put up another board on our own site. So maybe we can make lemonade with these lemons and get motivated to get onto our site after this setback.

BTW, my offer of donating some of furley's money still stands.

Please tell me which you had from Short's...and for the love of Jebus tell me that it's not the three I just made a trade for.

I had their Brown, and I dont remember the first brew I tried from them, It was a year or so ago. Dont get me wrong, it was good beer, It just didnt stick out to me like a Bells or Founders brew.

Southern Tier Un-Earthly tonite.

Frigging love this brew.Having Kalamazoo Stout via TT later. First stout that I've had in a while methinks.

Color me impressed. I gave it a 4.4.I keep 'falling back' to the DIPAs lately. It became my favorite style just about instantly, not to mention that Impys can be tough to drink in the hot weather...unless you're sitting next to a campfire with a nice cigar.

Yeah I think I gave it around that. #2 to Hopslam so far.Took me a long time to get into IPAs and DIPAs but DIPAs emerged as my fave style eventually.Kalamazoo is a terrific brew. I'd give it a 4.2/5. Probably the highest rated stout ever from me that ISNT an imperial.

I REALLY like the barrel aged stuff. To me, that beats a RIS, most any day. Abyss and KBS are both outstanding, but I think Bourbon County Stout takes the cake.

I didn't really appreciate KBS like most others though I certainly liked it. I also preferred Old Viscosity over Older Viscosity. I think I just have to let beers like that sit for a while to let the alcohol taste go away a little bit.

OK, if you have a domain set the name servers to NS1.GRDT.NET and NS2.GRDT.NET, let me know what the domain name is and I will get it set up on my server. Really, dont worry about the $$, lets just get this up and running... If you have a board that you plan on growing, we can talk about what to do when it grows.Shoot me a PM when you get the nameservers switched and I will get the board up and running for you.. I am talking to Chaos about it now. Trying to see if we can get the script from the old baord to load onto a new board. Also going to fully transition to a new site hosted by him, and will actually start using our real URL as The Beer Spot.ETAlease be patient though. The old site appears to have gone out of business, so getting the old script likely won't happen. Also, I have some family issues to attend to this week and into the middle of next week. So my access will be limited starting tomorrow I think. So a new board will have to wait until then. I'll do what I can tomorrow though, so maybe TT and Chaos can get it going in the meantime.

What we'll do from here is follow up on the suggestions and offers in this thread lately to put up another board on our own site. So maybe we can make lemonade with these lemons and get motivated to get onto our site after this setback.

Organized Chaos offered to help out a while back. I forwarded PM exchange to NG and TT. Any thoughts? I looked into it and it seems better than the freebie phpbb. Cost would be $5/month and well worth avoiding freebie phpbb.

I am talking to Chaos about it now. Trying to see if we can get the script from the old baord to load onto a new board. Also going to fully transition to a new site hosted by him, and will actually start using our real URL as The Beer Spot.ETAlease be patient though. The old site appears to have gone out of business, so getting the old script likely won't happen. Also, I have some family issues to attend to this week and into the middle of next week. So my access will be limited starting tomorrow I think. So a new board will have to wait until then. I'll do what I can tomorrow though, so maybe TT and Chaos can get it going in the meantime.

I have a big conference tomorrow, so probably won't be able to do much until tomorrow night. Might be able to do some stuff today if you can get the stuff arranged that OC asked us for.

I changed the nameservers to the ones he sent me. So that's been done. He said it might take up to 24 hours to fully happen.But it's ***Official***, the migration to a new home for the BeerThreadGuys is under way. We will henceforth be known as The Beer Spot though. So get used to the new name. We will also have to necessarily start from scratch this time. Which sucks given the volume and quality of the content. But it also gives us a chance to change anything that needed updating or revising.

Hopefully some time soon, The Beer Spot will be live. No clue when we can get the message board and stuff going but soon.

I went to the Blues, Brews and Bets Festival at Colonial Downs this past Saturday. It was great weather and decent beers.

Starr Hill - Amber Ale

Legend Hefe

Legend Brown

Hook and Ladder Brown Ale - I forget who brewed it. It was pretty forgettable.
